Will Leo and Kate ever make a movie where BOTH of them survive to the end!!

    • @D93-w5q
      @D93-w5q Рік тому +155

In the departed, Kate Winslet was supposed to play the therapist that Leonardo went to see but She didn't get the role. It went to Vera Farmiga instead. And Vera and Leo characters in that movie had sex as well and Leo died towards the ending of the departed. Had Kate gotten that role, that would have been 3 movies they acted together and one of them dying again.

What makes a situation so haunting, is the fact it shakes those around them. Most honest response with the ending "I don't want to talk about them anymore"

The dude was in love with April, especially after she took a ride on his hot baloney pony. The woman he was truly in love with - which was not his own wife - died. That’s why he doesn’t want to talk about the Wheelers anymore, not because a tragedy happened to the neighbors.

@@dropkickirish4449 I get where you're coming from about this, but to clarify, its literally their other neighbors WANTING to hear about what happen to them and cause he was supposed to be his "best friend" where the looks of it was just a forced moment socially, where damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Then again, I'm sure this will get misconstrued as well and get and "actually" response, but to clarify, especially in these represented times, it takes quite a bit for someone from that time to literally step away from talking about something painful, why you usually seen WW1/2 vets just going through what mustard gas does, what happens in the cold to your toes, what scurvy looks like in trenches, things like that.

@stoagymahalo5268 I'm not sure if I understood your comment correctly. I understood that you meant that vets don't stop talking about the war and it's horrors.
      It's that what you meant?
I'm asking because no vet I knew or met wanted to talk about the war and it's horrors. They were like David Harbour in the video. They didn't want to talk about it.
And my mom told me that's normal. And that it's very rare for vets to talk about the war.
That's why I'm asking what you meant. To be sure. Because it would be the first time hearing someone say what you said.

Nor do we ever know the freedom and happiness we didn’t have until the toxic she-devil is gone. The castles they built in the sand had already collapsed, which is the dilapidated ruins they would’ve been forced to live in had April not selflessly did everyone the favor of dying, thus averting a shared inescapable waking nightmare trapped beneath the rubble of their failed dreams and slow reconciliation of settling for “domestic bliss” by not possessing the degree of true love that was needed to escape suburbia.

I can't understand all the hate towards April.
She was a very independent woman that was ahead of her time and society.
She has truely loved Frank. She loves his originality and free spirit that had gone lost in the treadmill of life. In a time where it was unnatural for women to be the breadwinner of the family, she offered it, so that Frank could become who he was supposed to be.
Frank was the weak one giving in the temptation and disregarding April's true wish to be free and not be a housewife.
When April suggested the move, she was thinking of him. But when Frank decided, he did the decission by himself while cutting her out.
None of them are "a narcissistic" or anything. They just wanted very different things in life and got bitterly disappointed because the other person was not in line with the way they wanted to live.
Too bad, they should have just divorced.
Also, Frank looked very miserable in the end. :( Now he was the one that couldn't get out anymore.
I'm sad for boths of them, this marriage seemed so real. None of the marriages in this movie was happy. Makes me really scared of marriages now...

Both were f’ed up and insecure with themselves and thus werent ready for the relationship only for it to inevitably end to tragedy simply because they failed to communicate their needs or even understand it, on top of the suburban western pressures- bringing the worst out of them. I really understand the complexities of this relationship. However, April could’ve up and left Frank at any given time and moved back to the city or something. She was “independent”. But I believe that she knew that that wasn’t going to keep her happy. Somehow, she did latched onto a man and put herself in a situation where she wasn’t happy but had Frank to blame for her own unhappiness. If she truly believed in happiness being somewhere else, she would’ve gone for it. I did believe that she couldn’t stand Frank-like I’ve been there and in that type of toxicity before. She had instances to make others choices throughout the movie and she insisted in doing this final act.

My parents' marriage didn't get the chance to crumble because my mother's illness took her first. If there's anything i learned from it, it's that, if you are meant to be together, then any cracks, conflict and fights will not worth as much as the marriage itself. Of course this will only be the case if both sides agree to it.

You could argue frank trapped her but considering how conventional it is to settle in the suburbs and have children I don’t know what she she could’ve really expected. He didn’t have malice he was simply going about his role of a husband during that time period, not that I agree with roles. I just think April was far more self centered

A woman, trapped at home with children. No money or career of her own. A husband who won't let her make reproductive choices. Pregnancy is a very physcially intense and dangerous thing to do. Then being locked in for 18 years to a child is overwhelming when you already have two. Instead of just leaving like men would have the option of doing, she tried to organise the family so they could fulfil Frank's dream in Paris. She knows she won't be able to emotionally cope with another baby so she is willing to take the social and phsycial risks of terminating her pregnancy to make sure the baby doesn't grow up with any attachments issues. Yeah what a totally selfish woman.

Instead, I work between 12 and 15 hours every day like my husband, I have no time for our four children and the house. These days are terrible for the family. And this woman from the movie has all that, but she is not happy. How sad it is, that people don't see how happy they really are.

@@True253you can't murder someone if he is not born. Sure you can kill it (to counter the argument that something alive does exist somewhere).
But the matter of fact is that, we kill uncountably alive things everyday, every moment. The vast amount of microorganisms in just one hand wash or insects like mosquitoes killed everyday, and the people eating animals is a whole different level of a thing (i don't support it).
Don't get me wrong, I know what and where you are coming from. I feel that you. It is wrong to kill a foetus, not because it has the potential to become human but because it is alive just like every other insect or animal or plant.(it's really arrogant to feel superior than an animal just for being a human, ego at its peak).
It definitely is wrong, but it doesn't allow anyone to force someone not to do that if she wants/needs to do that. If you know the covid virus on your hand has much chances to kill your life, nobody has the right to stop you from using sanitizer.
Instead of the non-abortion law program, start safe sex education programs.
