September 4, 1972 was the day Gambit, The Joker's Wild and The New Price is Right came to CBS daytime.

I remember that KTTV jingle well from when I was a kid! For years even before UA-cam and the Internet, I still remembered that jingle in my head. So nice to be able to hear it/see these promos again!

RIP Raquel Welch. She was unforgettable, even if most of her movies were pretty easy to forget. The Southern sheriff in the Dodge ad was played by Joe Higgins; those spots were so popular that they inspired a country novelty hit in 1970 entitled "The Sheriff of Boone County," by Kenny Price. A couple of years later they would both be cast members of Hee Haw.

At the end of that Wrigley Spearmint gum commercial is an RTD bus, as those of us who lived in L.A. at that time recall!

Another great video. That KTTV jingle brought back some good memories. I remember the new fall season on the local stations always starting just after Labor Day. I also remember the John Tracy Clinic and Western Fed Bank commercials around this time.

Fond memories as I live in Long Beach from 1969-72. These fall previews were probably the last that I saw before I moved to Texas in mid-September of 72.

KTTV also had an extensive studio system where a lot of other TV shows for other networks were filmed. Before it was sold off the broadcast station was just a form for the more lucrative production facilities. Toward the end, there would be days of I Love Lucy reruns as its only on air offering.

I remember those Wrigley Spearmint Gum spots where people were "carrying the big fresh flavor" by bringing those big packs along.
One such spot was done in an airport.

In Wrigley's hometown of Chicago, they teamed up with a local radio station to give away those inflatable prop packs to listeners.

Mad Magazine did a parody of that commercial. People were walking around carrying the gum under their arm. The next scene had people cursing as they stepped into big globs of sticky gum.

She was the first choice to play Carol Brady, on "The Brady Bunch", but was replaced by Florence Henderson, when the producers changed their minds. So, her main claims to fame were being a frequent panellist on "Match Game", and playing Murray's wife Marie on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show".

KTTV, that's entertainment! This was it's slogan from late 1972, early 1973(channel 11 Los Angeles was owned by Metromedia at the time.) Now it's owned by Fox. Thank you, R.T. for bringing back memories. New York, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Minneapolis,Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles had the best tv stations for families and kids. We also went outside and played when the tv shows, we didn't like were on. We had the best weather year round.

Oh yeah, I did the same espcialy when my mom had her stories, and Donahue/Oprah on. Then again I had an 8 p.m. bedtime even in summer so I had to make everything count.

This is why I really love old commercials even though I was not around back in 1972 Wendy’s commercials were on the air, and I have never lived in the West Coast part of the country when the network of channel 11 was on the air because at2:29 I really liked the Dodge dart commercial, which shows a young woman getting pulled over during a routine traffic stop and what she’s trying to do to avoid tickets, she is having a conversation with the state trooper, showing him everything about the car that she’s driving in and this is when the Dodge dart within around back in the 70s because they’re young woman was trying to avoid getting tickets by distracting the officer because you know why, why this is why I really love old commercials.
