- Geist, an Indianapolis Neighborhood where you can live the lake life. Is it possible to live the lake life in Indianapolis, Indiana? Actually, yes... it's absolutely possible! There are a number of large reservoirs around Indianapolis and Geist Reservoir is the largest. When living in Geist or the Geist District you'll experience an extremely residential, tree dense, and beautiful area. You can live right on the main body of Geist Reservoir or along one of the many fingers and coves around the edges. You can also live in the Geist District and have a home that isn't on the water at all. There are a number of affordable homes well away from the water. You can even find relatively affordable homes that have deeded boat docks on Geist. It's absolutely huge and covers a number of school districts so when looking in Geist you'll need to pay attention to that. There are a number of other factors to consider as well. Enjoy taking a tour of this incredibly popular Indianapolis neighborhood!

Living the "lake life" in Indianapolis is possible. Have you heard of Geist Reservoir?
Leaving FL for IN and I’ve been feeling nervous about feeling so landlocked. This brings me hope that I’ll be able to find something that reminds me of home. Thank you for that! 😌
Hopefully you can!
Your videos are incredibly well done. The editing and production are top-notch and the content is very informative and helpful. Thanks for sharing.
Appreciate it! I certainly like putting the videos together. Do you live in or around Indy?
@@LivingInIndianapolis No, but my close friend is interested in the area and he's gently pitching it to me. We're both from the Roseville, CA area. If my family and I decide to pursue this further, I would certainly get a hold of you; same with my friend. We're both in the first stages of considering this. Thanks
@@cadelangemore3114 Sounds good Zach! Let me know if you have any questions. Happy to help in the future.
I've visited Geist many times. I love the area. Beautiful neighborhoods and good people.
Thanks for this excellent overview of the Geist
Thanks!
Dope video, I'm in Noblesville and planning to move to Geist at some point soon
Have you seen the video of Dunlap dam collapsing? How well is the fan on this reservoir maintained? Are the records of maintenance available to the public?
Lol..there's a Kroger 1.5 miles from the launch ramp. It's no different than anywhere else
There's a Kroger about 1.5 miles from just about everywhere!
Hello. I am planning to come to Fishers Indiana, coming from Northwest Indiana for a quick getaway. I'm tired of this "world shut down" sentiment and I need a getaway, especially after working 72 hours a week. I was planning on bringing my boat as for I wanted to take it out on the reservoir one of those days while I am out there. Does Geist have a public boat launch? I trust that that $250 boat permit is not in effect yet? Good idea or not?
Geist does have a public launch on the east side of the reservoir. I think it's $40. It fills up fast on the weekends during the summer. No DNR fee and the $250 fee is not in effect
@@LivingInIndianapolis O.K. Thanks for the information, fellow Hoosier!
@@gethighonlife11 You bet!
Does giest reservoir have public areas .
Very informative. So you're telling me I could buy a house in Geist for the same price as a ragedy 1200 sqft townhouse in Maryland?
Ha ha! It's possible! Depends on where in Maryland
@@LivingInIndianapolis I live in Rockville. Wouldn't mind moving back home to Indiana with home prices the way they are today.
