Looks Like the one guy was ejected when the boat flipped, he was bobbing in the water and the went down out of view only to emerge a few seconds later. Looks like he wood have be fine until the last boat then ran over him. Watch this again closely and keep your eye on the guy in the water. Iused to race Boats back in the Day "The War Off Shore in NJ" I took fifth Place one time.
If you going to have these many boats in a class, the course should be longer in length. A 8 to 10 mile course, not 4.5 mile course.
I don't necessarily think that was a problem with course length. Looked more to me like three or four drivers realized they were on the wrong side of buoy and all made the move to correct their course at the same time. Notice how hard FJ Propeller backed off in anticipation of what was coming.
Jackhammer the gray boat cut the pin too tight and didn’t maintain his lane. Pause the vid at :48 and see where he’s at compared to the boats outside of him.
Offshore racing is not Auto Racing. Longer coarse is needed.
