What's your favorite Wayne movie?
Man there's so many to choose from just too many good ones
Wayne’s World
The Quiet Man. Love that movie.

The Shootist
John Wayne was a draft dodger in December 1941 following Pearl Harbor filing a 3a draft deferment.
He wasn't a draft dodger! By the time WW2 came around, he was almost 50 years old! Too old to be accepted into military service!
I hate that he hated High Noon, one of the best westerns ever.
*Film Actors Guild
I always root for the natives in his Western movies.
My sister and I did too. But I don't think ever during a John Wayne film. When the center story was based on Indians, then I got mad.
Chickshit Wayne kinda managed to avoid military service, preferring to play soldier in the movies.
First, Wayne had a bad back as a result of being a football player at USC. Because of the injury, he lost a football scholarship, had to leave college and he became a full time actor. Having a certified bad back injury (such as in his case) was a disqualification. Second, a number of actors (including Jimmy Stewart) joined the armed services. The President himself, Roosevelt, intervened and felt that at the time, Wayne was too big an actor to lose to the military, so he told the draft board to overlook Wayne. Third, Wayne did A LOT of his own stunts, even into his sixties. One thing Wayne never was, was a chickshit.
@@The_Dudester oh really? BS Wayne tried to join the OSS, so he would not have to be involved in the nasty front line combat. A bad back was no excuse for the poor guys who were front line, kinda like chick hawk Reagan with his hearing impairment? Yeah right. And do tell, if chickenshit Wayne was so disabled how was he able to do his own stunts? Hmm, I smell bs. Can ride a horse all day but not a jeep? Please cite your source about the president intervention. The lie I heard was that Wayne’s exwife “misplaced “ his notice from the OSS, but any lie will do when a second rate actor wants to take advantage of the openings produced by the stars who did serve. Your “second “ statement is irrelevant to the fact of the matter at hand. Except to illustrate that many stars didn’t try to find some excuse to weasel out of service
So was he so decrepit that he couldn’t join the service or was he a super stuntman?
Sounds like a chicken that had friends in high places. Definitely a tool for propaganda
@@The_Dudesterif he did his own stunts then his back wasn't that bad to not serve in the military What you're saying is he wasn't a chickenshit when it came to perform his own stunts but a chickenshit to serve in the military 🙄
@@chrisgross2043 You must not have worked a single day in your life. The reason the military has disqualifers, like a bad back, is because when you lug an 85 pound backpack, uphill, downhill, every single day, you won't be able to do it without ending up in the hospital. So, Wayne would not have made it through the physical. Second, the President of the United States, Franklin Roosevelt, didn't want Wayne in the military because the nation needed a certain number of movie stars making films.
What you don't understand is that there was no internet back then, no TV, and baseball had shut down because most of the players had joined the military. The only way to entertain the public was movies and without actors, no movies.
But, you seem to hate Wayne for some reason, so go on hating him if it makes you feel better.
McClintock 💚
He was a major anti-Semite - like Ward Bond, Walter Brennan and Victor McLaglen.
died 45 years ago. was a totally different world back then. also, who gives a fuuuuuuuuck
My dad was a huge fan.

He could act his way out of a paper bag.

"No-hero" John Wayne's alcoholism and smoking killed him!
"Mr. Big Shot" was full of advice for others on how to live!
Meanwhile his many marriages and neglected children showed how self-centered and selfish he really was!!!
He played the hero but deliberately dodged the draft and sat out the war in Hollywood. Hypocrite,
Draft dodger and a rascist
I'm no surprised Wayne was a racist since the era he was born in was basically all racism but honestly how does no one recognize John was a racist? I even recognize him as a racist but I was a fan of his movies still. Also why would they ever cast John Wayne as Genghis Khan??? He was a cowboy actor not a history actor
He was about as racist as you are, Lefty!
Everyone has a controversial past but you cannot deny that John Wayne is the greatest cowboy actor of all time or at least definitely deserves an honourable mention. Rip the great cowboy actor 😢
I like that he was the inspiration for John Wayne Gacy.
Pencil neck handwringing.
