You are infinitely better than me at wedding videos, and I think your older work looked great. However, I felt a bit disappointed by the video made with the anamorphic lens at the end. On my screen, the opening shot had blown-out highlights on the plant on the right-hand side, and the colors appeared a bit too desaturated for my taste. I’ve been considering getting an anamorphic lens myself-I had one on my old system and loved the oval bokeh and distortion, but I didn’t notice those effects here. I understand that shooting with an anamorphic lens can be tricky, and achieving oval bokeh and flares can complicate correcting the roll of the camera in post. I noticed that many of your level shots were off by +1 or 2 degrees. That said, I did appreciate the neutral flares, and the rest of your studio shots looked great.
Everybody has their own taste when it comes to color. And on those (even the ceremony) shots the sun was extremely harsh and was blowing the highlights a bit. But that's how weddings go sometimes. It was a scramble to get those shots and I missed some shots I would have liked to have gotten of the bride and groom getting ready. The bride was already dressed when I arrived lol. The anamorphic lens was only a 1.33x squeeze so the anamorphic effects are subtle. As far as the unlevel shots, I just forgot to correct them in post, but they don't really bother me too much. Not like it's detrimental to the video as a whole. Also was shooting on M4/3 when I'm a full frame guy so that also could have contributed to the slightly blown highlights. They're similar sure but still not as familiar. Anyways, likely will use anamorphic that's more obvious for the full frame one
Wait, you shot anamorphic and then didn’t finish in an anamorphic aspect ratio? What the holy hell? The whole point of anamorphic was originally for the aspect ratio, not flares or squished bokeh. 😢
@@DustinArmstrongPro Yeah that's my point. Why make a video about shooting anamorphic on the GH7, which has amazing anamorphic options and then choose a 1.33x lens? 1.33x is for a 16:9 sensor. Open gate with 1.6x or 2x lenses is where the GH7 really shines. You still could have still gotten 2:35 if you would have shot 16:9 at least.
Editing my first wedding video soon, got some great inspiration from this ! Thanks 🙏
Stunning video! I enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing. The flares added some sparkle to the great storytelling.
🙏 appreciate you watching!

Let me know if you want help on that full frame wedding video ;)
I will!
Idk. I did it once. Had to manually focus on a gimbal and was beat at the end of the night. Don't know if the couple even noticed.
Manual focus doesn't bother me too much. I think it's more about your creative preference than the couples. Most couples won't know what it is
The flare ❤❤❤❤ such a mesmerizing sight ❤
The flare is nice😍
Great video - eagerly awaiting the full frame continuation! Which tripod was that at 3:30?
🙏 the full frame one will be fun 🤫 I think that's a cayer carbon fiber tripod?
Wait, you shot anamorphic and then didn’t finish in an anamorphic aspect ratio? What the holy hell? The whole point of anamorphic was originally for the aspect ratio, not flares or squished bokeh. 😢
It's a 1.9:1 aspect ratio which is technically an IMAX aspect ratio

Hopefully you’ll go “Real” Anamorphic for the full frame follow up video. 1.6x or greater and finish in an actual Anamorphic ratio. 2.35:1 at least…
Id need 3 of this bags to have all my gears for a wedding day 😅😂
Large one for lighting, medium for camera and lenses, small for sound. Makes sense to me
Such a beautiful video! The flares are amazing 😮
🙏 anamorphic flares are 🤌
Nice video
I would like to buy a GH7
Thanks! It's a slick camera I won't lie!
Solid all the way around. Cant wait to see it done on full frame. Salute!
