Outward: Zero to Hero (Unlimited Silver in Cierzo) Patched, No Longer Viable.

- This has been patched and is no longer viable...
Take advantage of some recipes and use the economy in Outward to get as much silver as you want at the start of the game.
Twitch - / churchy_plays
Twitch VODs - / @churchystreamsgamepla...
As of the patch on 14/12/20 This strategy is no longer viable due to changes to the pricing of items and the yields from certain crafted recipes.

Just realised the same. Good that you reacted so quickly. Thanks a buntch!
Damn :( And i just got the game lol
Got any fresh new ways of making money in Cierzo yet? I mean the splitscreen one still works if you're really low on cash but it's not viable for later on.
hah i was wondering why i ran out of silver xD
Honestly a dick move from the devs. Getting money through crafting required you to spend a lot of time and effort preparing and then actually crafting.
Now I guess I'll simply use CE instead.
When you drop your backpack before sleeping, food in it will not rot.
Really bet my guy, thanks
Sweet! That’s another good tip I’ve yet hear from anyone. I didn’t know this.
Lol outward life hack😀
Thanks dude
does this work in 2020?
It is a great way indeed, when i first wanted to try this, I couldn't do it because I didn't have enough silver for buying the materials I needed, I just followed some quests and when I had enough, I started my potion business, and let me tell you, the bussines is in a boomin'!
I'm about to start this game so I am doing a ton of research in preparation because I know it is a tough game. This video was so helpful thanks!
if u see a black chicken in the wild u run should run like u seen p diddy
Quick note - At the start of the video I say the quickest and easiest way to keep your house is to get a tribal favour...It's actually a lot quicker to just head straight to the alchemist, buy an alchemy kit and start making alchemy recipes to earn 150 silver. (Make a few warm potions if you need some silver to get started)
Just in case anybody is reading this 7 months later, it's more worth it to use the tribal favor since you get 3 a play-through and using it to pay off your house is one of 3 uses for it.
@@franklinturtleton6525 Thank you
@@franklinturtleton6525 That must have been a glitch they fixed - getting three - because you only get one now.

Dude, this video is amazing, i've had Outward since launch and been playing a decent amount but never got too seriously into crafting, brilliant.

Damnit! I wish I read the comments of this video before starting this!!
@@BisexualBee I know your comment was 5 days ago and you probably don't care, but if you are on PC you can enable the Debug menus and give yourself the skill that you missed out on. I started playing again last night and forgot all about that. Got the favor then realized I screwed myself out of Puncture early on.
P.S. To enable Debug, you have to simply create a .txt file in the "Outward_Data" folder. Locate your Outward folder (e.g. Steam > steamapps>common>Outward>Outward_Data), and open the Data folder. Create Text file named "DEBUG" and that's it. Press F3 to open the skills menu and give yourself the free skill you missed out on from the guard.

He only left to get the favor so you don’t lose your house
oh my GOD thats how you save that guy?! and you can do it right away to keep the house... im starting over lol. Didn't get very far, but I lost the house and my wife and I are just lost in Enmerker forest getting killed.
Poor guy lost his house and his wife
LAVA 420 lMaoo
You can reaquire your house for 300 silver if you messed up to keep it in the beginning
I just bought this. I always liked alchemy in games; Skyrim I used it early game for monies. Thnx for the vid 👍
I feel like a more streamlined and time-optimized strat is to forgo all the gaberries and just go from Lighthouse straight down to the first merchant just buying oil, the go alchemist and buy the exact number you can craft from her, no need getting several Blood Mushrooms because the Beetles for HP pot are only ever 1-2 in her stash, and do the same for Astral, Tummips are abundant so hold the Star Mushroom or whatever the red one's called. Then go the two berries around her house, go last merchant and oil, then craft. Never take the gaberries, just take the two around the alchemist house. Aproximately a 100+ net gain in about 3 mins time.
The thing is, that the way you approach this task in the video leaves you with no free weapon skill. I'd recommend getting some food in lighthouse (jerky), get the waterskin from fountain, pick a weapon in town (give every one some swings to see a moveset), and then talk to gatekeeper - he'll teach you a weapon skill for free. Be aware to leave only one weapon on you when you talk to him. Then, proceed as the video shows.
I had to sell a lot of jam and fish, and sleep a lot, before I could buy finally buy the alchemy kit and pot but from there on it was really easy. Great video, thanks!
really nice video dude, I knew all the recipes and usually make a lot of potions to sell, but the warm potion was new for me. The simplest one, I will be making lots of those =)
The warm potion is this humble little gold mine just waiting to be farmed haha
I now have 1000 silver. Ty for making this vid.

Buying the just Thick Oil and making warm potions seems to be faster for me.
Can confirm, it's way faster.

@@xunter That means traveling to the fortress and selling each pot separately. Warm Potions are legitimately the fastest way with the least amount of effort.
Neat Gentilis warm potions and astral potions. If you have turnip and star shroom with water. They sell for 18 silver
Have they patched this? I swear warm potions sell for less than the price of thick oil now...
Just farming astral potions and warm potions is much easier and faster imho. You just buy all the thick oil Doran, the alchemist and the trader have, all the turmmips and all the star mushrooms the alchemist has and you're done. Go to sleep in your home (because you can sleep there without any penalty/needs) for three days and the inventory of the merchants is reset. The only thing setting you back are the loading times when you sleep.
Awesome. I hope they haven't patched out or nerfed these exploits...I mean gameplay techniques. Thanks for doing the math for us!
They are not exploits, this is how the game was intended to be played, diving into this amazingly huge craftinng system is key :D

A really good hack I've found that i havnt heard yet, sorry if this breaks the game. With split screen you can use a lvl one character as storage, get them to hold anything you want to sell later or gear potions ect doesn't matter if there over encumbered and nothing will go rotten and before you do anything pop them in the game re fill your potions teas and rags and also you can use them as a teleport to other cities but you can only use it for merchants not quest, hope this helps
Amazing video, really well explained and everyrhing you mentioned is useful as hell, i wish i saw it a bit earlier :)
I suggest a plant tent. And checking fish daily and also cooking soothing tea and spicy tea. Because both are also good ways to make a profit as well as this method. The plant tent slows u not to worry about eating or drinking after waking up. But you can move it after you play it
This game looks seriously cool
It's a bit rough around the edges and buggy from time to time but it is a really nice blend of survival and exploration with not too much focus on combat...It makes you consider whether you should fight or not. Roaming around exploring cool locations is what I've enjoyed the most so far! I still need to try multiplayer, I've heard good things.
And the fckn music is 🔥🔥🔥 allready got 200 hours with my homie. We pre orderd and loved this masterpeace of an Indie game
It's a bit on the rough side but honestly it is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time I really enjoy the game I've been playing it for several hours it's hard as hell but that's what makes it good classic style RPG
Dev1: "How can players get rich fast?"

Was there a patch nerving this??? For me thick oil cost 6 silver each and warm potions only sell for 4 silver. I lost a ton of money making potions and selling them
In the latest patch they nerfed this strat completely, even the quantities of potions crafted are now only 1 no longer 3.
@@ChurchyPlays dang it. Ok. Thanks for the fast reply 😀
@@hobbesdknight so how u can do money early? just when u start the game ?
Do this rotation in the first map (chersonese):
-> loot mountain clan fort (~150 ish silver if you sell everything)
-> kill electric shrimp and sell husks
-> vendavel fortress prison (mine the ore, break down the pick axes, turn in life pots + bandages, hand in miners omelette, cook stews for cook + kill guards/loot rest of prison: ~300 silver)
-> bandit camp/bandit's prison
-> loot Yzan's stash just south east of bandit's prison
I did this entire run in about 2 hours, sleeping and replenishing food/health pots along the way. I also had the blue sand chest piece which made things much easier.
Thanks for this video, we are playing from France, with the split screen. Of course we lost the house at the beginning of the game... we are now in Berg (hope it's the same name in english) and we just can't find how to get really good weapons. By them? Find them? Make them?
We always seen on different video quick and extremely strong weapons but we can't seem to find how to have them ! Any tips ?? We don't want to give up this game...
A lot of the really powerful weapons are protected by strong enemies or are really expensive.
For decent starter gear, I'd say try make some makeshift leather if you haven't got any better armour yet. You can also then look at upgrading it further to Scaled Leather.
A Scaled Satchel is also a nice cheap starter backpack to look at making. (Primitive Satchel + 3 Scaled Leather)
Also Fang weapons are nice starter weapons, I like the
Fang Greataxe (Iron Greataxe + Predator Bones + Predator Bones + Linen Cloth)
and
Fang Halberd (Iron Halberd + Predator Bones + Predator Bones + Linen Cloth), they have nice attack combos/animations
Another decent idea that's pretty cheap is combining a recurve bow with 2 coralhorn antlers and some crystal powder to make a Coralhorn bow. (Make Crystal Powder by combining 4 mana stones at an alchemy kit)
Hopefully this info is at least somewhat helpful,
cheers
these are some awesome videos thanks friend
Why do you get 3 potions per set of ingredients? I only get 1. That makes it unprofitable for me. Is there a skill I’m missing?
Is it ok to spend that many days in the game? Wont stuff happen and I will miss it? Or the games waits for me to come to the places to trigger the events?
Thank you for the help, you are awesome.

the item that you find in the town hall chest is not worth selling early game, the 5% stamina reduction on all actions, is worth keeping.
Loot is RNG so it depends on what ypu get, I got nothing but poison rags out of it once
This technique still gets about 200 silver a run.
After you craft astral potions, life potions, warm potions, poison rags and gaberry tartar and sell any shrimp, blue sand, fish, eggs as is.
the chef next to Eto gives a mission that exchanges a Cierzo Ceviche for 3 or 4 Ocean Fricassee
before i visited the wiki i found that one. can't believe he turned it in for 4 silver...
Hello sir nice video help alot ... the game is pretty ‘’hardcore’’ i rage suit after 2 hours playing LOL. I had a question i see many ppl got that shiny dot on lootable items on ground i dont have that is it a mod or something ? :/
The shiney thing is default and I guess there are many loot items on ground for them is either they drop their previous item or they didn't loot
I went, I burned all of my money and then I sawed "Patched" ... 45 silver boyss
When you start off just make the Warm potions. Also once you go to Berg, the merchant on the left at the southern entrance sells Plant Seed tents? If you put one right beside the merchants you will save the time to go up to the lighthouse. I try to gather up as much thick oil as I can so when i get to a City I mass produce them and sell them. I use the mana potions since i'm a rune mage but I made all my money from mostly blue sand and warm potions. blue sand sells for 14 silvers and you just gather it by fishing or on the beach where you started the video. probably around 5-8 blue sand per run but they reset every 6 days.
they changed the price of thick oil from 2 silver to 6. i’m pissed
yeaaah.. "without even leaving town" 1st thing he does is leaves town? :P
haha you got me :P
Where is the mine where you sell the potions again I csnt remember
I found an other option instead of sleeping 3 days. I bought 2 backpack and pick up an empty backpack. An then jump from the cliff to be dead. I also put my money in my dropped backpack. So I won't loose my stuff.
An other way only for pc user: talk with the girl on the right side of the gate where u can ask her for a quest to bring her stuffs.
When u are can choose an option to takl with her press 3 times the 1 button. And u will get the 30 silver without giving her stuff. And u can do it over and over again
Oh forgot to say to prest the 1 button very fast
@@_noi4779 there's no girl on the right side of the gate, mate
@@Moose0fNorway he's talking about the woman who asks you to get the shield mushroom, and who you can give the giant heart garnet to for 30 silver
heres the thing about this this is nice but this is stuff you would be able to do after you have like over a few hundred gold any faming methods for like animals or bandits or something
???
This works from the beginning of the game, all you need is 60 silver for Alchemy kit and 2 silver for your first thick oil, grab what you can in the intro area, then walk around town and collect whatever bits you find, keep the water skin (on the well thing near dock) and fishing pole (end of the dock) fish the 3 spots along the water and then head to the alchemist and sell everything you don't need, you should easily be able to get 62 silver, from there all you need to do is cut some wood to make a fire, light it with flint and steel, set up alchemy kit on top of it and make warm potion by combining thick oil with water. Then you can just build up silver a few times by just making warm potions and branch out to other potions once you've got enough silver to back it.
As far as hunting animals, I would say try and get a bow and try to get pearlbird mask from pearlbirds, use the bow aim down sights + movement speed from pearlbird to kite the animals you're hunting, also maybe look at setting up some traps and lure animals into them. Hope this is helpful :)
Good video.
A like and a sub for this video!
the people from Vendavel are my hostile to me now, so I can't sell them the linen cloth, anyway to be neutral to them again?
Is it the prisoners and merchant who are hostile or just the guards/bosses? When I played, the main gate guard and his 2 mates attacked me after a quick convo so I killed them all, but deeper in the fortress the prisoners and merchant and some of the guards around that area weren't hostile and remained neutral.
You could try leaving and coming back a bit later maybe? Based on a quick google search, it looks like you can reset an instance and it's enemies by leaving the area and waiting 7 days. Might be worth trying this. Hopefully this helps you solve the issue, cheers for watching :)
In my experience, the cook and nurse will only go hostile to you if you have the quest active(3 warlords), if you clear it before that quest starts they will not be hostile

Does sleeping for 3 days do anything in the game? Like does the actual day matter in game?
Through my early playthrough it seems it doesn't do too much. An npc in cierzo will tell you that you can sleep off diseases, though when I contracted an infection i spent like a whole month in bed and it didn't cure it.
The other thing I've noticed is that when you sleep in your home in cierzo, it doesn't seem to cost any hunger or thirst. Wheras camping out does cost hunger and thirst.

how are u getting better prices??? and u start out with over a thousand silver,,,,, might wanna explain that to the viewers
Won’t the Vendlven attack and destroy Cierzo if you do this for too long?
If you haven't start choosing the faction I believe they won't attack because you won't have the quest to active it. I'm almost around 60 days and I still have never step outside of Cheronese. Just exploring and keep trying to beat the dungeon enemies and ngl I'm still struggling at it xD

i love my daddy, my superhero
How often do the berries and fish re
spawn?
3 days, same with the resetting time of merchants
Love the list of things you can sell, but Life Potion just isn't worth it if you buy the beetles from her. The mushrooms are fine, but buy both and you'll spend 23 gold. Selling your 3 Life Potions will give you 24 gold, a total profit of 1 gold. And the recipe is reliant on the beetle which is scarcely sold, so you have no use for the mushrooms until you get a beetle so they'll just rot in your inventory (faster because of skipping days). Ultimately I kept losing a bunch of silvers because of this- but take this off the list and you'll be making consistent profit. Thanks for the vid:)
If you sell the life potions at Vendavel Fortress, (as i show at the end of the video) you will make a decent profit, the idea being build up a stockpile of health pots and then head over to Vendavel later and sell a large amount of them.
Gravel beetle is 15 silver
Blood Mushroom is 8
total = 23 Silver
blood mushroom + gravel beetle + water = 3 life pots (7.6 silver per pot)
1 life pot sells for 15 silver at Vendavel Fortress
3 x 15 = 45
45 - 23 = 22, so for every 3 you sell at Vendavel Fortress you make a profit of 22 silver, this adds up quickly if you have massed a bunch of them to sell.
I usually mass 100-150 Life Pots and then sell 50-150 of them (nice to have a stockpile of life pots laying around whether you sell or not haha)
Anyways hope this helps and cheers for commenting :)

To add to the one guy talking about warm potions. There is a oil pit just outside of cierzo. Immediately outside of the town gate is an intersection, go right and you'll see you are a little ways from the hyena den. On or around the hill right before the descending path to the beach is where you'll find the thick oil pit.

How am I to do this when you started out with over 1000 silver
So you're asking how to do something in response to a video explaining in details how to do it?
They nerfed it, it only gives 1 astral potion, so it's not worth it any longer
What do I nake with spice beetles?
Don't know if you're still wondering but you can make Discipline potions with water, beetle, and livweedi. Add some crystal powder and you'll get survivor elixer. That much Silver is mainly useful for buying skills, and they can be 50-400 a pop. the problem with your video is you zip past the start where people have no money to a point where you have 1.5k without telling us a thing
If you have 62 silver, the route can work, all you need is an alchemy kit and that first Thick Oil to get the whole thing started. I skipped ahead to a point where I'd done the run a bunch of times.
@@ChurchyPlays there's guaranteed thick oil next to blister burrow. there's prob even more recipes that can be profited off of. If you don't care about the mushroom shield you can sell it for 70 silver and that already covers your prerequisite so maybe it's more consistent to just head to blister burrow first. IDK what the heart is for i looked up what the mushroom shield does so if you don't care about the heart it's 30. All you would need is 50 silver to pay off your debt or the favor. You could even sell the favor for 40 and just need 10 silver to pay the debt if the favor is used for anything. just buy it back before the reset.

ya the method works, but not from the beginning of game. why are u leading ppl to believe this can be done from the start? u don’t have access to the recipes or the ingredients you’re talking about this early. but u fail to mention that. and that’s pretty obvious from the fact you’re not a new starting character in this video. thumbs down.
You can do this from the start of the game... sweep Cierzo including the town hall, loot everything you find, keep waterskin, and fishing pole. Stop by alchemist, sell all the stuff you don't need, you should be able to hit 60 silver, then all you need to do is buy alchemy kit for 60 silver and a thick oil for 2 silver.
From there you can just craft warm potion with thick oil + water, you don't need to buy recipes...you can manually craft the recipe and learn it that way.
Sell the warm potions to get silver for more mats, just buy thick oil on first run if you don't have enough silver to go for Astral Pot ingredients.
Within 1 run or 2 you'll usually have enough silver to cover supply costs for a run and then can just profit from there.
Also you can buy the ingredients from the various merchants in town.
Fun fact. You don't _need_ to buy the scrolls in order to "unlock" the recipe. You either know the combination you're looking for, or you "stumble" onto it by experimenting. All the scrolls do is enable the menu to just find the items for you.
dude lame....
This game socks tho. The dodging doesn't work and you can't just block attacks. Me and my friend have just been abusing the aggro system to win any fight at all... how do you play this junk
Patience. This isn't as forgiving with it's Iframes like Dark Souls. Drop those bags, block and keep that ego in check. Fights in the early game are usually avoidable and aren't worth the risk. So, unless you know what you're doing, it's far better to sneak and run away from a fight than it is to get your arse handed to you. When you get some better armour, a weapon that isn't a stick and some health potions, then you can try to throw hands.
@@SirusDiarota yeah i have patience but once you start blocking its hard to stop cause they just keep going and its bad game design if you need health potions in every single fight tbh
@@kruziikal Ah yes, the old "bad game design" complaint. Lord knows there's no such thing as consequences or risks... As for the health potions, well look at this video again. They aren't that expensive to make, or you can use some of the silver earned from doing the alchemy shown in buying health and stamina pots for emergencies mid fight. Or avoid pissing off the locals, but I said that already, so let's get back to trying to be helpful.
Drop the block if no one is swinging at you, or WALK away from attacks, only rolling if you have to. At this point, I'd probably recommend checking out Click4Gameplay's video on this ( ua-cam.com/video/mWaNSZCyIeI/v-deo.html ) or trying out new gear and seeing what weapon you're comfortable with. Yes, I know "Git gud" is a terrible meme, but there's more to combat than facetanking and mashing.
Outward can get rather irritating when you're learning it, but it's designed like that. After all, we're a regular bloke/lass crawling their way from rock bottom. You'll get there in the end, or it's just not the game for you. That's not me being an ass, the game is hellish at the start.
This video needs to be more focused
