    really like this...you guys embrace failure as a positive. Not something you see often!

    I have my first improvisational class tomorrow. I’m 43 and it’s my dream to be an actor. I have to at least try to follow my dreams. I tell me kids to follow their dreams. How can I tell them that and I don’t. I can do this.

      Classes help overcome the fear/ develop your skills. As you do it more you’ll find yourself itching to perform. Try it!

      I dont understand whats so cringey about improv from what I found it is very much about camraderie and its also a complete blast yeah it can be a little silly but Ive also seen very emoional sad and rather beutiful

    Most of it was way out of my comfort zone but I can try cheering when I "fail". That's definitely going to happen again...soon...

    Actually, it seems like imagination is banned during improv. It is more about going with the flow than being imaginative. Creativity is not allowed. Something they never tell.

    • @r.r.r9746
      @r.r.r9746 6 років тому +12

      No i disagree, you need to be creative to go with the flow. At least that's what i feel during classes

    • @rogerm4938
      @rogerm4938 5 років тому +8

      Imagination is allowed. But to do well, you can't be obsessed with being the guy that delivers the punchline. Someone talented at improv should be worried about making others look good, and trusting people to do the same for you.

      Hmmmm.... very interesting. I can see your point. I have been doing it for a year. Maybe, it is that often, one needs to change their creative idea to “ yes and” their partner.

      Depends on the group sometimes. There's always a bratty kid who's like "I have armor, you can't shoot me" for everything you try but you can use your imagination for sure. People get hung up on the "yes," but it's just accepting and adapting. Oh, you can fly in this scene? So what, my cousin can too.

      It's very SF safe space-y with the blogger music and toothless humor, no risks but lots of hugs and the actors will go back to their software developer jobs on Monday. But, hey, they're just having fun, not trying to "make it."

      I’m so confused by this comment. Why would you comment something so negative on a video people following there dreams and having fun?
