Why Cassowaries Are the Most Dangerous Bird on the Planet

- It was a moment of crisis when a man called 911 after being viciously attacked by a bird. “Can you send an ambulance? I'm bleeding to death,” said Marvin Hajos, 75, during the desperate emergency call. Police say he was attacked by his pet cassowary, which is said to be the most dangerous bird in the world, known for its dagger-like claws. Sadly, Hajos died of the injuries inflicted by his own bird. #InsideEdition
As an Australian I gotta say that anyone who would keep a Cassowary as a pet must have rocks in their bloody head.
💯 facts. They’re idiots.🙄
I knew a Kokoda veteran who decided to become a hermit. His war experience must have done something to his head and he left his wife and kids to live in the bush on his own. My wife and I and our young children were travelling around Australia at the time and met this bloke while hiking along a secluded part of the Etty bay area. It's near Mission Beach QLD. We were all invited to have a coffee in his little shack. He was a really nice fellow and we had a good chat about a lot of things. He told us he regularly was visited by wild cassowaries. He would feed them whole mangoes and he anticipated and hoped that maybe he might get a visit from one while we were there but no go, that's life. He showed us a video however, of him feeding one at the doorway of the very shack he lived in. The bird was friendly and not aggressive. It just step up near the doorway and the old timer handed the bird a whole mango. One big swallow and down it went, after that it just turned away and walk off. A pretty cool day.
I got semi charged at by one in Cairns and I nearly literally shat myself.
@@sjb3460 I remember the story, about the 13 foot long anaconda. Horrible little story, and there's thousands of others like it such as this video about the pet cassowary.

Here's a rule of thumb: If Australians don't keep it as a pet, there's probably a very good reason for it - it's either venomous a hell, is huge with sharp bitey teeth, or it can gut you with it's claws (kangaroos included). If us Aussies don't keep it as a pet, neither should you.

@@virgilblaze9090 Yes, it’s supposed to be Deinonychus. They purposefully changed the name to be more threatening sounding. It was called Deinonychus in the book before being changed for the movie.
It’s not like the real Deinonychus had much resemblance to its portrayal though. They were also feathered and likely were not pack hunters, or only behaved like that rarely.
They also ate like how Velociraptor did and the sickle claw was most likely used for holding itself to its prey than shearing or cutting and they couldn’t run nearly as fast as in popular portrayal, certainly much slower than an Ostrich. They were also good at climbing.
This sounds like a parody of news to be honest

Because you'd be dead
Who in their right mind would keep a wild bird in captivity
If anyone searches up just “cassowary” it seems normal at first but then there is a picture of its eyes huge and like it looks like it’s smiling and it gave me the chills
Fun Fact: Cassowaries became more popular when Far Cry 3 came out.
