I began with 10" and 8" round cakes, and half a 6" ball cake.
I used:-

If only I could somehow master the skill and years of practice required to do this simply by watching a 3-minute video! As someone who has never been able to master carved cakes, I really appreciate the talent of people like you. Thanks for sharing!

Hello !! Beautiful cake!! Is there a specific reason you used Marzipan under fondant ? Can I skip the step of Marzipan altogether and just go with the fondant or do I need the layer of Marzipan underneath fondant ? Thanks !!
Hi, you can skip the Marzipan if you like. I only used it because it is what I am used to.
@@CakesForShow thank you so so much for replying.. I love this cake and the design; trying to make one for a Vader fan !! Thanks for sharing the video :)
cool
Hello !! Can you please share the height of layers you used for 10inch and 8inch cakes? I noticed that you used 2 layers of both 10 and 8inch cakes, however I can’t make out the size/height of the layers, they all seem to be different sizes. I would really appreciate if you could share that. Thanks!!
Hi, I used 1 10inch and 1 8inch both sliced in half, their height was whatever height they rise to in the oven, usually about 3inch high, but nothing wrong with making multiple thinner cakes and stacking them. If it doesn't need to feed that many people you can also make it smaller using smaller cakes.
@@CakesForShow thanks for the info. The darth vader design is so detailed and I am so daunted and inspired by it at the same time. Thanks again for sharing the details !!
@@CakesForShow what did you use to bake for the dome
@@rahabcisneros2056 I used one half of a 6" ball cake tin.
Thank you for sharing, what did you put under the fondant, chocolat ? And what did you paint it with to make it shiny?
Hi, I used marzipan under the fondant and Sugarflair confectioners glaze to make it shiny.
Hello, How much kg of renshaw black icing do you use please ?
