I always find it funny how the regressed protagonists never actually call out their father or hold them accountable for treating them poorly like you don't owe your father any second chance without an apology or they never let some rage go and beat their father dudes a got a lot more combat experience and could easily beat his father till he apolagised.
This story isn’t about that though. The main character was the one that was an asshole, so he felt he needed to apologize. He even poisoned his younger brother in order to win a duel.
