I cycled my tank for only a week, but used Dr. Tim’s bacteria. I also Used rock and water from an established tank, and went bare bottom. Currently have 3 fish, high end mushrooms, Zoas, Anemone’s, and some LPS. I’m on my 3rd week, and everything looks fine. Nice job on the rock scape
Respect for your patience and probably a good advise. However if you keep the fish stock low you can stabilize it faster and add some hardy corals. Remember corals care less about the cycle since they dont cary red blood cells.. They just need stable water.
Hi Antonio, how do you set up the light schedule: intensity for channel A/B/C, also duration for each segments. I'm assuming that you'll make a mixed reef, then for general rule of thumb, how many PAR your aim on the sand bed directly beneath the light? I'm getting just one like you for my nano 60cmx45cmx45cm tank, and have no clue about that led setup for mixed reef (some softies, LPS and SPS) other than what pleasing to the eyes. Cheers.
Whoa. According your measurement, I found that since 11.5" is 120% higher than 9", your PAR readings on 9" are more or less 120% higher than ones at 11.5" above water. Amazing. Thanks. However some say that it is not safe running C channel 100%, might burn some coral, nor 140%. So I'm still searching for reference of setup that really helps mixed reef growth. Looking forward to hearing from you with your setting once you had some corals.
Ya lights are more than capable of growing any coral. As far as the final number I can’t talk much about since there is no coral In the tank. Once I have coral I will surely be able to share more recommendations on percentage. :)
You need to clarify more because having zero ammonia does not mean that your tank is cycled(unless you are doing a fish in cycle). You could have zero ammonia if your tank just never cycled. You want to test nitrates and make sure you have nitrates present because if you don't have any nitrates, your tank isn't cycled.
You should look into maybe having no background noise or changing it up. Gets kind of old after a couple videos and is sometimes interruptive. Great content. Keep it coming!
When you cycle the tank, did you turn on the lights? If you did turn on the light, how many hours per day did you turn on the lights and at what spectrum?
Hi, really enjoying your videos, im learning alot, have a question for you. How many mollies do you think I should get for a red sea reefer 350 for a safe cycle? Thanks
So much false information in our hobby. I completely cycled my tank with all new everything in one week. Dry rock, no seeding except Dr. Tim's. I had 4 fish in 2 weeks and a hammer coral in 3 weeks. I had one small dino bloom for 2 weeks and now I have Scolys, LPS and multiple SPS and 6 fish in a 40 gallon innovative. I have lost nothing....no fish and no corals. Right now my tank is only 4 months old and still no real Coraline algae. Just FYI. I don't vacuum my sand bed and that's why I don't get crazy algae blooms. 25 years in the hobby and I do what works and not bad advice. Good luck on everything
I find when you dont add much livestock initial, or corals for months after cycling, you tend to have less algea issues. Are you going to seed the tank with any coraline algea, becuase the tank needs an initial source from some frag plug or snail shell etc.
Okay so i set up a 35 gallon tank with sand and dry rock 2 months ago. I ghost fed it and also used mysis shrimp but somehow not a single algea grew. Do you think the tank is cycled? I mean it has been 2 months and i dont know... to me it seems cycled
You just want to complicate simple things by instaling the kh director in the cabinet in souch a small space where you will not be able to maintein and service this equipement...and for that u have to change the all plumbing....realy? Buy a small network cabinet for the electronics, dosing conteiners and ato. Just my opinion. What light u have on the refugium?
I also need to add a manifold. With it being metric pvc there is none in USA. Also good luck getting the wife to approve a furniture piece on the side of the tank lol. I may have better luck her approving a 300gallon lol. The way I am doing it will make everything look super clean while still being able to do maintenance everything.
Take your time with it. Mine took a few remakes to get exactly like I wanted. This one I just wanted something never befor made on a cube. I’m pretty content with it.
You need to add coraline in your tank either by adding live rock, crapping a rock with coraline or with snails which have some on their shells. Otherwise. It will never pop. Unless you're lucky when adding a coral which the plug got some.
@@user-rk3id2zf8c i got 2 3 snail that has coroline algae and hammer that has most part of the bone that has coroline but it never transferred to glass or Rock. do i have to scrape it so it goes to water coloumn?
Nope not at all. The type of bacteria used to get cycles started reproduces way quicker in lower salinity and temp over 80 degrees. I highly recommend you watch the brs video on Dr Tim talk. Have a pen ready to take a whole mess of notes and watch the whole thing. I learned a bunch of info. Here is link ua-cam.com/video/zDI7sxqC-ss/v-deo.html
No I forget the exact mark but he recommended cycling tanks from 1.015-1.018. He did say they can switch to fresh water Bacteria at lower temps and lower salinity but it was way lower.
I cannot believe the stuff you got for that tank, its ridiculous, the focus is the tank, not the equipment, you got more equipment than you got tank..the tank is beautiful but you just went overboard on equipment, that should be for a 125,175,or a 240,mann that's krazy,I think you put too much into it.HOB for me always,Keep it simple, and enjoy the hobby,You are stressed out,the equipment is doing that to you...Your doing too much work...🤔🤔🤔

back in the day used to stick the dried tubifex squares to the glass like that.
The tank looks super clean! I love the rock scape, I’ll be using that idea on my build! 👍
Thanks man. Can’t wait to add coral. 🤙🏼
Regarding the pvc cement, that's why we use unions to get rid of the alignment pain
Super aquascaping and setup. 👌
Thanks
Waiting for coralline is pretty smart. Never thought of that
The hardest part is waiting but it will
Be worth the wait.
Not too bad. It’s not like it’s sitting empty with no fish
I know right 😊
@@eatsleepreef9565 Did you scrape some coralline in?
Put spinstreams on returns, vary the powerhead wavemaker pulse and you’ll be fine.
Where did you get this tank setup at? Thanks!
What is the light you using?
is that molly? fresh water fish???
What pump do you use for you water changes? Im having trouble to find one that will fit a hose to return the water ! Thanks for the great vid!
Coming from freshwater to saltwater myself but are those fish Mollies?
Wasn’t it more hassle to acclimate mollies from fresh to salt water, rather than getting something like a couple of chromis???

Hello brother. I highly
Recommend watching my
PAR video on these light where I cover my personal schedule I will be running and par as well 😉

Did you seed coralline algae with anything? Not sure how youll get coralline without atleast throwing one frag in there that has some on it...
CUC has it
What kind of 50 gal is that ??
nice work man!
Thanks brotha🤙🏼
How to reduce 0 ammonia faster?
Where you bought that rock????
You need to clarify more because having zero ammonia does not mean that your tank is cycled(unless you are doing a fish in cycle). You could have zero ammonia if your tank just never cycled. What’s your salt salinity in the water change bucket and what was your salt measurements?
You should look into maybe having no background noise or changing it up. Gets kind of old after a couple videos and is sometimes interruptive. Great content. Keep it coming!
So what percentage of water did you change?
nice configuration, from which company is the sump?
Advance acrylic is the sump manufacture. Let them know you seen them on this video. They will take care of you.
When you cycle the tank, did you turn on the lights? If you did turn on the light, how many hours per day did you turn on the lights and at what spectrum?
How long did you aclimate the mollies? Do I need to aclimate them for a week? Hours? Days?

How will corraline algae get in your tank if you don’t introduce it since you started with base rock ?
The clean up up
Crew have a bunch of Coraline
This tank is listed on Mode’s website?
Yup under infinity series

You gave me second hand anxiety leaving the kh director on the rim 😬
Hahahah. That would have sucked if it would have fell

I guess you found out about now. But you best introduce algue with a frag or stone.. You can always try to add a hardy coral and look at behavior...
Doing the triton method I thought you didn’t have to do water changes.
Haven’t started it. Need to still install dosers then KHD so about 2-3 months out.
Oh ok got ya. I wanna let you know your jbj45 tank is my inspiration and want my tanks to look like that someday
Appreciate that brotha. Be consistent
And take it slow. Soon enough you will be there
coral after coraline? ok, c u in june

The light is same lights as above. Illumagic
Ok man. I understand now. Then let's see how you manage to pull this off. Best of luck!
Where is Calcium reactor?
Trying out triton method in this build
Rockscape is beautiful! I’m doing mines right now and can’t come up with anything I’m satisfied with 😡
Take your time with it. Mine took a few remakes to get exactly like I wanted. This one I just wanted something never befor made on a cube. I’m pretty content with it.
Coraline algae needs to be introduced to build a population :)
Love the vid bro!!

Imagine doing a water change
What kind of tank?

You cycled your tank for brackish bacteria when you bring the salinity up to 35ppt you will need to cycle it again
