Fun fact: To non-speed runners if you’re not min/maxing slot in diversion somewhere, it makes multiplayer much more trackable since you’ll constantly be pulling aggro and often will have the monsters undivided attention for the entire fight.
@@CiphrixGaming sorry for the late reply: Yes BUT for some reason that I can't really confirm LBG pierce and DB'S will still pull aggro occasionally. I think aggro scales off of attack repetition in Rise vs scaling off of damage in World. In my testing with a 4pt those were the only two weapons that could pull aggro away from me as long as I was keeping up with the team in overall play speed. Do be warned though palicos and palamutes can have a skill called "Fleet-foot-feat" that is designed to pull aggro off you. So if you intend to keep the monsters attention make sure they do not have this skill and you will, generally speaking, keep the targets attention regardless of how hard your buddies hit. If for some reason your playing slowly then its possible for them to pull but theres still a much smaller chance. To give the most accurate comparison I will reference Safijiva: To pull aggro on safi it worked just like any other status, there was a threshold you have to hit, except in this scenario each player has their own separate threshold. This applies to all monsters in the game but Safi is just a notable outlier in that there was literally a target line. Keeping that in mind, Diversion essentially lets you hit that threshold much faster than everyone else. This may not work as well in the late game a few years from now, but as almost everything is currently very well balanced as far as damage output, it actually gives the skill some viability if you're struggling to keep up with the faster pace that the monsters have in Rise, which is perfectly acceptable considering Lance still has one of the slowest sheath speeds in the game. Hope this helps! Side note: In the team I play with we are all fairly skilled players that regularly spend half our play time testing the viability of skills over long course tests. Generally speaking most testing is determined within the first hundred hunts, we tend to push for five hundred before we say whether its good/bad, like with diversion we fought 350 rajang (the most sporadic monster currently) before I thought it would be ok to mention it to people.
