Cultural thing ? That’s a polite way of saying it. I’ve noticed 90% of the people Asian ? Are raising if you call it that their children in the most sad abusive, traumatizing ways there’s many videos that I have seen where babies have cuts bruises etc 3-4 year old siblings are hitting & pushing a baby who is 6? Months old & each toy the baby manages so hard to get the sister will grab it out of babies hand & no parent seen, but I hear them Laughing , those children have no foundations being instilled for their first 3-5 years of life in which are the most important years even though their brains are not fully understanding actions , words etc they can Feel everything that is a negative act & those memories of feelings will ALWAYS be there it’s called a Trauma people can laugh or if you’re a Good parent doing or giving anything to your baby that’s not a positive, Will become an important issue & or a Trauma when they are adults. Babies need Loving, Security (knowing when they cry & are afraid, they are held & comforted) self soothing doesn’t apply to Fear it is used when resting , if baby is clean, fed & in need of rest over tiredness is time to self soothe. Babies need to never feel abandonment, & I see that in so many videos parents will do things just to scare their baby ? Thy laugh at the True Fear on a little babies face, That is abuse & will leave a mental scar that will NEVER go away baby will have trust issues Trauma is caused by not giving an Innocent Beautiful Baby Everything that’s Good in this world & from its parents not toys , not tangible things , Feelings, Unconditional Love Babies May not understand many words etc But they Feel everything as strong as we adults do... Love, hold them, respect them, appreciate them as the Gift they are, teach& guide them by being a Good example & a Good Moral Compass, show kindness, compassion., empathy, joy, happiness , laughter, support their needs, be understanding, if you reward good behavior, the need for discipline is 0 , communicate, Listen to your child& then Hear what is being said. What is Our World Coming to be ? When people have to write comments about a parents terrifying behavior towards their own child? Please believe that the Most Important Crucial Years for a Baby is 0-5 even if babies can’t read write, understand most wording , Their/ Brain is a Beautiful Amazing Organ that is like a camera it takes pictures & captures EVERYTHING & keeps it in a photo storage box in their mind & they can open the box over & over again & they’ll remember how each picture made them feel. Please give your Babies good memories for their box

I do agree that they go overboard in certain circumstances when they should step in & do something but don't. However, I have noticed that in Asian families specifically, they tend to encourage their children to do things for themselves & don't interfere and "rescue" their children when they're struggling so that they can learn to handle it themselves, which is actually a very positive thing.
