Dynast Uhuru, I just came off a UA-cam page who suggested that he doesnt see the need of African Americans moving back to Africa because they feel they are not wanted there by Africansmplus Africa has a whole other bunch of problems. I commented that it doesnt hurt to visit or be open minded and see another side of your blood culture. The black Americans went into an ambush of saying that Africans hate them etc etc...i don't understand where this is coming from and why they were very arrogant towards me. May all our ancestors that went through slavery soul rest in power.
Thank you very much brother Dynast
It's important we tell our story because nobody will tell it for us and it is good we pass it down to the next generation.
The mistake that most of our forefathers and grandparents did was not to tell us about slavery because it was painful to them and also they thought they were protecting us.
Instead most of us were taught a watered down history of slavery in school colonial curriculum.
This should never happen again so we have to start appreciating one another.
Also important we learn about black people successes too.

But you did not disagree that he turn around to become an advocate for the abolition of the barbaric trade ..I think that is the core matter in the context the brilliant historian was explaining and you are saying things that you can’t present facts on and not even related to the subject... We must not make light of some white people who had a change of heart and did something about it..

Fatima Sesay True but remember Sierra Leone also had a civil war, which they are still coming out off on many levels over the past decade. That wasn’t a priority and shouldn’t even have been.
Plus the Dutch forts in Ghana were protected during colonial times.

So how this trade started? Merchants from Portugal, Spain, England etc were looking to make a profit, to trade European goods like guns, ammunition, tools alcohol, textiles and other factory produced goods overseas for other things. The Indians had an abundance of spices and textiles, China had silk, tea and porcelain and so on. The Africans wanted the European goods, but they had little to nothing to offer in exchange, so they sold their own people. Really a terrible result mainly for Europeans. How many lands they lost? Jamaica, Haiti, most of the Caribbean and so on which are now African countries. Only if Africans had more to offer instead of their own people. Yeah, if there is anybody to blame, is not the traders trying to make a profit, they would have gladly exchanged their goods for something else that was profitable, but the ones capturing people and selling them in the first place. In fact it was Europeans that put a stop to it, and there were always strong European voices against slave trade and slavery. Westerners always had self control, that's why they were so successful. But just like now, with the fight against corporate greed, there is not an easy fight. The Africans if anything were against the ending of that trade as it left them without a source of income, or the main source of income, not for the poor, but for the powerful.
Look for the Slave Trade Act of 1807.

DYNAST what this guy is saying is very true when you visit Ghana go to a place called Nzulezo, 186 miles from Accra to the western region of Ghana and you will find a stilt village of people that originated from Mali who ran away from war and settled in Ghana in the 1500s. They are still there today. Of course, they are Ghanaians now but they know their ancestry. www.cnn.com/travel/article/nzulezo-ghana-stilt-village-intl/index.html.
