Seismitoad betrayed Ghetsis and saved all of Unova with that random Rain Dance...perhaps all of the butt jiggles from the Palpitoads were foreshadowing this event.
You call N's childhood room peaceful? I call it broken; the music is super eerie, the toys show that N is kinda being kept under Ghetsis' thumb/kept a child, the fact that his room still looks like that even though he's grown up now, and the messy state... It gives me chills in the best of ways.
The fact that N said that he had never seen a Pokemon that liked its trainer shows that Ghetsis never really let him out into the real world in order to make sure he never figured out that the narrative was a lie. Eerie. People in our society get upset when children are taken to rallies because they can be used as pawns for those few hours that they're there, but Ghetsis' treatment of N manages to hit so much worse because N was treated like a pawn _his whole life,_ and everything Ghetsis did to N built up to the climax of this story.
Two fun facts regarding Ghetsis 1)His Hydregion has a moveset that would hit all of N's champion team for SE damage. 2)In the RR story in USM, he uses the dragon that N would use when matching up version numbers. IE he uses Zekrom in US, and Reshiram in UM even though Cyrus and Lysandre use the legends the player would get in that version number. Thus implying that in a world where he was successful, he steals N's dragon after he's done with him.
N's story is more disturbing the more you think about it. Ghetsis had a cold, calculated plan that he was willing to wait so many years to execute and was willing to manipulate the development, mind, and entire life of his child in order to accomplish it. N was probably locked in his room his entire life (the new toys, the train tracks that were played with recently) and likely has stunted emotional growth and development. He's had so few interactions with humans, and the few he has had in his life were only to further shape him into what was desired. After losing the battle to the player, he is berated by one of the few humans he trusts, his own father. His eyes are now open to the truth: to be the catalyst for his father's plan is the only reason he exists. Can you imagine how traumatizing that would be? Growing up with the belief that all humans are awful, and to have that belief further proven by having your father use you for the duration of your life to this point? N knows the truth now, but after being sheltered from the real world for all this time, it's not that easy to transition from his playroom to the real world. No matter how well he tries to process his severe trauma, there's no true "fix" for what has happened. It's not impossible for someone like N to life a good, happy life, but realistically, the road to achieving it is extremely harsh and difficult. Pardon my tangent - like I said, it's just more disturbing the more you think about it. I'm pretty passionate about that, and you've made me passionate about this game's plot, Chuggaa. I only wish he would play the continuation, too! Though I don't think doing such a thing is his style.
Another disturbing part is that N was raised by Pokemon until Ghetsis found him. Ghetsis was willing to use an abandoned child to accomplish his goals.
This is why I love Black/White's story so much. Gym leaders actually getting involved in the finale? And the entire Ghetsis fight was a delight-- I knew he was a villain from really early on, but I was so *infuriated* with his rant at N that I might have said "right Ghetsis, time to beat you like there's a prize inside!" out loud in public the first time I played this... and gotten some very strange looks... Also, if you look at N's room, the floor is painted with clouds. He was literally raised in a world that was upside down.
That's why I love Gen V and why that fact NEVER gets brought up when discussing this generation, I have no idea. It's all just "Garbodor and Vanilluxe are the worst Pokemon designs ever! Black and White is terrible! Case closed!" It's refreshing to see Gym Leaders have more of an active role in the story. Rather than just people that just sit around in their gyms waiting to battle you. And the sad fact is that it's never been seen since then. Also look around during N's Room. It just shows how N really hasn't matured. After being sheltered his entire life by Ghetsis, who would not even allow him to see the real bonds between Pokemon and people. And would only allow him to see Pokemon hurt by selfish trainers. The room shows N was really into things most boys are into, such as trains, basketball and skateboarding. Ghetsis turned N from a sweet, innocent boy into an emotionless husk, lying to him saying that separating all Pokemon from people would give the Pokemon happiness. But it was all a scam so that he would be the only person with Pokemon and rule Unova and potentially the world with an iron fist. Ghetsis didn't even love N like a father would for his son. Calling him a disappointment and a "freak without a human heart." In layman's terms and forgive my language but Ghetsis is a fucking prick! I have no idea if you've played the sequels yet, or at least heard about them. So I'm going to just leave that there.
I knew damn well there was gonna be a good reason to keep watching even after Chuggaa stopped talking, besides the awesome music, and he did! Not! Disappoint! :D
m comes before n m mario mario is red red = fire fire= Reshirem reshirem re shi rem rem rapid eye movement eye i i has a dot at the top dot dot has three letters three three words you know whats three words? D E L I C I O U S I N V I S I B L E B U R G E R
Ghetsis has to be one of the most despicable antagonists in the Pokemon series. What he did to N for his entire life, his plans, how he treated and turned on him at the end, and his entire personality. Only the fiends from Orre come close to Ghetsis' monstrousness, and even they pale when it comes to what Ghetsis became in B2W2, considering he is the only villian in the series to order his Pokemon to murder the protagonist.
GoGojiraGo when I watched how Ghetsis acted in Black and White 2 I wasn’t to disturbed, but that scene with Ghetsis in the Ultra Sun and Moon post game, it horrified me how far he would go to achieve his ambitions
Fun fact: the fusion bolt/flare effect occurs when one move is used then followed by the other; it does not have to be used ON reshiram or zekrom to get the effect. That's why using both in double battles is pretty op.
And this is why i ALWAYS set My Reshiram and Zekrom first in my party when doing double battles in Pokemon Omega Ruby. (My friend traded me his Zekrom for me to keep, Tnx bro) I call them Truth and Ideals in my head. U know, cause Reshiram represents the Truth, and Zekrom represents Ideals.
N: Before you battle me, how much do you hate me? [Not Much] [Mediocre] [With All My Heart] N [Not Much]: Ah, me neither. N [Mediocre]: That's understandable. N [With All My Heart]: Spell fun... Character: F-U-N N: Heh, you too
N's room is meant to suggest just how sheltered he is. He hasn't really grown as a person, having no experience with trainers whom have treated their Pokemon well. Ghestis has only put N near Pokemon who were mistreated. N was only a pawn to his father, conditioned and groomed to meet his father's ambitions from childhood days. He is...for the lack of a nicer, more appropriate term (because N has never been responsible for his own state of being), a man-child, raised to be innocent and pure. His room, with its music, is tailor-made to embody that.
The implication is that he's been denied opportunities and experiences that would've allowed him to grow and mature properly. It's to suggest how Ghetsis has basically hand-crafted him. His age matters little beyond that.
Step 1: watch Chuggaa's Fire Red videos Step 2: listen to his delivery now, especially with Ghetsis Step 3: Your next line is "Look at how far you've come, Chuggaa."
Ghetsis was probably the most climactic battle with the evil team members for me. Cyrus is my favorite evil team leader, but Ghetsis' fight was something truly imposing. When I first fought him and heard that battle music, which is so unconventional for Pokémon, I knew I was in for a tough fight, and Ghetsis' speech before and lines during the battle really made him appear maniacal. The fact that you fight him only one time in the entire game just adds to the unpredictability. I don't think I'll ever forget that moment.
fun fact. Cilan,Chili and Cress don't turn up in the seven sages scene because Bianca doesn't actually get to them in time as evident in their conversation with them after you beat the game.
When I first played Pokemon Black at 14, I'd been thinking of leaving video games, having been told at the time that I was too old to play video games. Black taught me that I wasn't too old and to follow my dreams and the things I enjoyed, and was very close to my heart. 7 years later, when I started watching this, I hadn't played Pokemon in months, and was struggling to after the disappointment of Sun and Moon. Watching this and playing through Black again reminded me of what I love about Pokemon, and helped restore my love for this series. Thank you for that.
Ghetsis probably tortured his Zweilous until it evolved and then just kept going. I had the TM for Frustration and I never used it. The fact that his Hydreigon has Frustration means that Ghetsis treated his Hydreigon and the rest of his team like garbage.
Steel4, seeing as Zweilous evolves when one of its heads devours the other, Ghetsis could have forced his Zweilous to evolve early by cutting of one of its heads prematurely.
This video is a prime example as to why I love watching Chuggaaconroy's let's plays; it's not because it can be funny rather there is more heart to his let's plays than most other channels can provide. While other channels can deliver funnier comedy (and I do love watching other let's play channels), those channels don't provide as much love as Emile's playthroughs. Most channels will play many different games including bad ones, but Emile is different; he plays games that he has a connection towards like a best friend or a close relative. Does he have problems with some of these games? Of course he does, but nothing is perfect and he appreciates these games for the good parts and only riffs on the bad parts when they appear and will continue to talk about the good parts throughout. Overall, Chuggaaconroy shows us that let's plays are not just about being funny or being a helpful guide. He shows us that let's plays can be an exciting story filled with dedication and love and passion from the maker of the let's play.
PhoenixCade SMM I saw your comment, and watched to the end and just before 52:56, I was like, "What about the delicious invisible burger?" Cue hilarious non sequitur.
Maybe back then people were too critical about the new Pokemon they showed off and how it didn't feel right after Gen 4, but boy have the times have changed.
Story was great and I haven't played it in years, but there was just something about it that I just couldn't get interested in it. I'm sure if I played it now, that I'd enjoy it a lot but I felt bored with much of it. It felt too easy up until the elite 4 onwards and so many of the best mons need to be leveled up so dang high before becoming viable. That said, after everything Chugga highlighted in this game, I do think it'd be fun to play again if I still had my copy.
Gen 1: The most nostalgic Gen 2: Best post game Gen 3: Best designed region imo Gen 4: Hardest game and best Pokemon designs imo Gen 5: Best storyline and soundtrack imo Gen 6: Mega evolution Gen 7: Z moves and ya boi Guzma 😂
Some things you missed: Gen 4: Physical/Special split! Gen 5: Infinite TMs! Gen 6: Fairies, and best breeding/ev training mechanics with the destiny knot, everstone, and hoards imo. Gen 7: NO HMs!!! Alolan forms, all of Team Skull, and Pokepelago. Did I mention NO HMs?!?
My best things about Pokemon: Gen 1: Nostalgic vibes overload!! Gen 2: Gym Battles galore!! Gen 3: Best designed region ever! (Team Magma disagrees because it's 7.8/10 Too much water!!) Gen 4: Physical/Special Split and new Pokemon evolutions from previous evolutionary lines. Gen 5: For BW, Infinite TMs, new moves and Pokemon! For B2W2, the return of old Pokemon, PokeStar Studios, Black Tower/White Treehollow, Memory Link and of course, the PWT!! They say that these games are underrated..... However, I disagree!!!! Gen 6: Mega Evolution, and Fairy-type Pokemon! Gen 7: Ride Pokemon is the new HM slave!!! Alolan Forms of the original 151 Pokemon like Raichu.
1. Team skull are about as efficient criminals as the anime version of team rocket while drunk, so that was ironicaly enough not needed much. 2. One bleeding gym leader vs just about all of them isn't exactly a point in sinnoh's favor Xp
Yeah at the very least Team Skull weren't actually considered a threat (they were acting as a distraction so that Aether Foundation can carry out their plans undisturbed). But the other region Villain organizations shouldn't have been ignored by the Gym Leaders, Lance, Steven and Cynthia at least tried their best on their own. But Kalos region....what the fuck...Lysandre annouces world Genocide on the holocasters and no one lifts a damn finger. At least the anime made up for this.
Ghetsis is truly the most evil and despicable villain in the Pokemon universe, including the fact that he’s the only one to be both the team leader and the final story mode battle. He’s ferocious, unhinged in his actions as shown by verbally tormenting his adopted son and threatening death to a child for interfering with his plans, but most of all, the most thought provoking team goal, releasing people’s Pokemon to prevent abuse, was merely a lie in his eyes to seize power for himself. The more time passes since my first playthrough and me returning to this game, I realize more and more just how intense this story is, how much more threatening Ghetsis is, and how much more tragic N’s story is. It was wonderful reliving this game, thanks for the memories, the memes, and for the really intense endgame! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for postgame!
I... Did not know that the Sage's dialogue from Generations was straight from the game. I now love The Uprising even more now. That was my favorite episode of Generations.
This storyline proves that the generation of Black and White is a bit better than the one in Platinum. Though Gen 4 still remains my favourite generation with Gen 5 being my second favourite.
CosmicFlare not only is better than gen 4 (in my opinion) but it after seeing this made me feel that this story is the best pokemon story in the main series. For how much hate gen 5 gets, after seeing the end of the story again...I cannot understand the hate whatsoever
I Disagree. While it's a close call, I would put Gen 4's story above Gen 5's. Gen 5 has a more complex, morally ambiguous plot, but Gen 4 has, in my opinion, the better characters and situation. In particular Cynthia and Cyrus are better characters than Ghetsis and Alder, but also Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Charon are more interesting, and more important to the plot, than the Sages. Ghetsis spends years working on his masterplan, then simply allows the player character to walk all over him until it is too late. As soon as he realised that the player character caused N to have doubts about Team Plasma's goals, he should have taken them out straight away. Instead, he left them every opportunity to put paid to his plans. Cyrus, on the other hand, never puts a foot wrong throughout Platinum. Team Galactic are at least one step ahead of the player character for 75% of the game, and in the end the player character didn't stop him. Cyrus planned for everything he could have and was only stopped by something that even Cynthia, an expert on Sinnoh's mythology, had no idea was going to happen. I have heard some people claim that Team Galactic does things that have no bearing on their goal. This is true, particularly in Eterna City, but I think this was a deliberate move on Cyrus' part. Stealing Clefairy in Eterna had no bearing on the plan, but it did do two important things. First it gave the Grunts something to do, and there is nothing worse than a bored Grunt. Secondly, and more importantly, it acted as a great smokescreen for what Cyrus was actually planning. Stealing Clefairy is the sort of thing that grabs the attention of Law Enforcement, then, while they focus their attention on Eterna, Cyrus quietly works away at creating the Galactic Bombs in Veilstone. Cyrus is the smartest, most ambitious and most successful villain in the series as a whole, while Ghetsis is an egomaniac whose plan would probably have failed as soon as he left Unova even if he hadn't been stopped. Similarly, Cynthia is the strongest Champion since Blue (or Red if you count that as a Champion Battle, which I don't) and is instrumental in taking Team Galactic down, while Alder just isn't very good, and completely fails to stop N. He's not the worst Champion in the series, but he's pretty far down the list. As for the plot, Ghetsis' plan may be a novel take on taking over the world, but its still a cliched take over the world plot. Cyrus wanting to destroy the universe so that he can recreate it to his own specifications shows greater ambition and is just generally a more interesting concept. That said Gen 5 is third in a very tightly contested podium for my favourite generation of Pokemon games, narrowly losing out on second to Gen 7, which is barely pippped at the post by Gen 4 as my favourite generation.
7:47 "As part of his plan to take Pokemon away from their people, my lord N entrusted some Pokemon to me. I've been spending time with them...and I don't think I want to let them go. I...may not be cut out for Team Plasma." 8:13 "This Pokemon has become attached to me. But as far as I'm concerned, a Pokemon is just a simple tool. I don't understand..." It's Grunts like these that make me love Team Plasma for how nuanced it is compared to the other teams. It makes the schism between both sides of the team in B2/W2 feel more natural with the build-up it had in B/W. The team was literally split between Grunts that believed liberation was the correct way to go no matter what, Grunts that started to doubt themselves overtime the more they got to see the bond between Trainers and Pokemon and the more they became close to Pokemon themselves, and Grunts that were in on Ghetsis's plan and knew full well that liberation was a front under the guise of regional domination. Sure, past teams had teams like Galactic show some of its Grunts beginning to see through Cyrus's lies on what he promised for his team, but that had no real meaning behind it. It just showed some of his Grunts were more competent than others and could feel how selfish their leader really was and what he really wanted out of his plan to make a new world. The fact that N's Castle was made underground in secret by the Pokemon they had "liberated" from Trainers, and continued to abuse them and use them as slaves to build it, speaks volumes. Along with the plan to hack into the PC system and release all Pokemon from the region to take care of any resistance from Trainers that still resist N's declaration if he succeeds. I love the shade one of the Plasma Grunts throws at Rocket and Galactic for being too showy about their plans; the fact that Plasma kept all this a secret and unknown to the player until the last second really shows the level of detail that went into their plans. The only thing that makes me sad about all this is that it takes away from the debate and ambiguity of whether Pokemon are really just being used by people or not. For a game that's all about preaching that one should examine a topic from all sides and all perspectives, and that you should be critical and empathetic toward all ways of thinking before coming up with a conclusion, it feels pretty biased toward "your" side of the debate. Team Plasma, as cool and foolproof as their plans were, felt really one-sided with how hypocritical they were toward their message. Sure, *N* and his side of his team may have truly believed in liberation, but they only believed in it thanks to constant manipulation, brainwashing, and propaganda. Ghetsis selectively chose Pokemon that were battered, beaten, and abused to warp N to the message he was trying to instill into him, all throughout N's life the moment he took him in. And who's to say the abused Pokemon that Ghetsis showed N weren't ones that he and his side of Team Plasma had abused himself? N's Castle was made through the work of Pokemon they stole and forced into labor, after all. So there's almost nothing that supports N's side of the argument. Almost everything, thanks to Ghetsis's plan and his side of Team Plasma's blatant hypocrisy and their constant declaration that, "We're the bad guys, mwahahaha" takes away from the moral debate and discussion this game was supposed to bring up. At least, that's what I got out of it. I might be wrong, and feel free to correct me if anyone has a rebuttal, Chugga included. But I hope my comment can help shed some light on a different point-of-view on the story from Chugga's. I like B/W's story, too, but I had my own issues with it.
Absolutely agree, I think BW has probably the best main-series storyline, but it still has it's flaws. I brought this up in another comment, but I feel like this showcases a dilemma on the creative process of creating a Pokémon game. I was also disappointed that it was so quickly cast away, and Ghetsis had to be cemented as absolute scum so that his whole morally ambiguous scheme rapidly became simply evil. If they, on the other hand, were to acknowledge the fact that Pokémon liberation could have been a good thing, that would have been EXTREMELY interesting(!!), but ultimately create a rift in the entire Pokémon series. The games themselves are ultimately an intricate RPG about battling and growing stronger, featuring a multitude of ways to improve your creatures and fight on bigger scales. If that fundamental was to be challenged, that would be very hard to tackle and make work in an actual instalment of the games. Not just that, but they need to market it to as many as possible, and one of their core demographies is still children, so if some more dark, realistic and grey story was implemented, that would most likely create a more mature atmosphere that wouldn't get an E-rating. This is why I won't expect Game Freak to ever expand on this interessting theme - but boy would it be awesome if they did.
+SweetWheatsy I definitely feel you. It's a shame Game Freak is kind of backed into this corner where they can only do so much with their stories just so they can still keep their games marketable and suited toward their intended target audience, while still trying to appeal to older players who've grown up as well. It's a slippery slope they have to cross and it causes them to miss a lot of untapped potential, but oh well! I'm just glad Game Freak did this much. A chunk of the fanbase--a pretty vocal minority, at that--gets really mad, really easily whenever Game Freak does something or makes a decision with their games that doesn't appeal to them just because they're not a kid anymore, or because, since they're older and/or veterans of the series, they "deserve/are entitled to" are a grittier, more mature story. But a series that's aimed at children and aims for E-ratings with most of its main series titles and spin-offs can only do so much to make a mature story happen. The 7th gen games, for example, managed to write in a lot of subtext through the Lusamine's and Guzma's families with child abuse, neglect, and the trauma that comes with a broken, separated family. Alola is a whole is centered around family and a tight-knit community, with its antagonist's pasts contrasting the closeness everyone else shares. And it all still kept the spirit of what Pokemon is all about. With 5th gen's themes of truth and ideals on the ethics of Pokemon training, I now see the writers were a lot more limited with what they could do to keep the franchise viewed in a positive light, even if it meant taking away from the overall theme of that gen. What's sad is that B2W2 expands further on the themes BW set up; namely in how much Poke Balls effect the mental state of Pokemon. Hugh's Purrloin was conditioned to be loyal to Team Plasma in the five years it had been kidnapped, and when it eventually evolved into a Liepard. All because it was captured in one of the Shadow Triad's Poke Balls. One of the Shadows even says so himself, and briefly laments the sad state people put Pokemon through because of Poke Balls. Hugh eventually reconditions it to like him and his sister again off-screen later, over a gradual process that takes the rest of the main story to accomplish. There's also an NPC in the sequels in a house on the route north of Undella who wasn't a part of Team Plasma, but fell for their propaganda in Pokemon liberation two years ago during BW. He released his Panpour from his Poke Ball, but it ended up not liking him. (Or he tried to befriend a wild Panpour without *using* a Poke Ball; it was one of the two, but neither option sounds very good because it implies it's not possible for some people to befriend Pokemon naturally unless they have it under the ownership of a Poke Ball.) And then there's N himself in the sequels, whose main goal now is, now that he perfectly accepts battles as a rational way for people and Pokemon to get to know each other, to try and create a world where people and Pokemon can befriend each other without the use of Poke Balls, and essentially plans to abolish them. But all of this is said either in passing, treated as unimportant, or in optional dialogue within the game. B2W2 never brings this up as a main focus. They never expand on this topic outside of these few small instances. But it really made me think, and these small moments alone made me question more about the ethics of Poke Balls more than the original BW ever did, because there was actual *proof* that how the world runs may not be morally right, and it wasn't just hearsay and propaganda from Team Plasma. And Neo Plasma wasn't even focused on liberation that time around; they just wanted to freeze everything.
Ah, see that's very interessting. Never played B2/W2 so I didn't know of that. There being those tangible instances of someone discussing the ethics of Pokémon training - be it battling or, as you mention, the usage of Poké Balls - where they actually doubt if it's done right, it's just done as a side-note with no proper consequence or impact, which really is kind of a shame. I'm really grateful that they actually decided to explore that side of the Pokémon universe, if but for just simply one generation (perhaps some vague hints in some other gens, not sure), but it also leaves one wanting for even more, now that they opened Pandora's Box and showed there's more to the series. Haven't checked out the newest gen because I honestly found Gen 6 somewhat disappointing, especially the plot (does Team Flare have any interessting ideas about them whatsoever?), but Gen 7's got something to offer? Those themes do sound kind of intriguing. Speaking of Gen 7; the fact that it was a bit outlandish for the Pokémon series, I mean a lot of new or alterated features were explored there, doesn't entirely write out the possibility of them making a gen where the concept of battling is further explored and dissected. It would also be interessting to get a better view of Pokémon when they are wild; their habitats, livelihoods and the foodchain, stuff like that. How they lived before encountering humans, etc. That could atleast be a more likely theme for them to approach, aswell.
+SweetWheatsy I found 6th gen pretty underwhelming first as well, but I grew to appreciate it--or at least, what it was trying to do--overtime. I'd have cared more about Lysandre's plight and quest to rid the world of all corruption if we actually got to *see* examples of the world being as bad as he says for ourselves. I get his point of view as a philanthropist and scientist that genuinely did everything he could to improve the world and fix it, only to become broken over the years thanks to constantly feeling like his efforts didn't change anything, but... His plan could've been better-thought out. Genuinely believing everyone he let join Team Flare is "pure" just because they paid a 5,000,000P entrance fee (the only stated requirement to join, by the way) is pretty flawed when a good chunk of his team are petty thugs or immoral (see: Xerosic, who was willing to defy Lysandre's orders and activate the Ultimate Weapon even if you pressed the right button, just because he really wanted to see its destructive power in action to kill millions of people). It just doesn't make any sense to me. ORAS is a *definite* improvement to RSE's story in every way, though, when it comes to the characters, their designs, and their motivations and actions. Maxie, Archie, Wally, the Gym Leaders... Even their dialogue is more memorable. Also, I don't want to raise your expectations too high over 7th gen, but considering almost everyone--including me--played it not knowing what to expect, even after all the reveal trailers, I think it was pretty neat. 7th gen does exactly what you said where it explores more on the details of Pokemon food chains and livelihoods and relations with other species, mainly through occasional NPC dialogue, SOS battles, and a TON of PokeDex entries. A lot of the wild Pokemon in each area are so strategically placed and thought-out that it's really cool the level of detail Game Freak went into the worldbuilding of Alola and the Pokemon world as a whole through these different habitats in this region. Just take what Hoenn established with Zangoose and Seviper/Unova established with Heatmor and Durant and expand that tenfold with a lot of other Pokemon. According to a few PokeDex entries and some subtext derived from the Pokemon that appear in SOS battles: Sableye eat Carbink, but since Gabite often collect and eat jewels, they often hunt for Sableye thanks to their eyes or the Carbink that they try to eat. Cubone left alone in the wild are often circled by Mandibuzz in search of new bones and prey, but are occasionally protected by Kangaskhan thanks to their motherly nature. Dewpider and Surskit are rivals and often compete for territory. Etc. etc.
Actually, the game does briefly allude to an answer, brought by Drayden himself. Just because you caught a Pokémon doesn’t mean it will respect you. Take traded Pokémon for example. In order for them to listen to you, you need to prove that you’re someone worth listening to, while wild Pokémon effectively make that decision when you catch them. And the Pokémon jump out towards YOU: the old theme song had it correct all along: they chose you just as much as you chose them
So here we are already. One of the biggest finales in Pokemon. The final boss in here is one of the only few Pokemon bosses to give me some trouble. This is the only time I've gotten chills in Pokemon, when the credits come just, wow. There's so much post game stuff, I hope to see chugga explore it all.
Route 10, Victory Road, Elite 4 battle theme, N’s Bridge, N’s Castle, N’s decisive battle theme, N’s Farewell and the Ending Credits theme. They really saved the best music for last.
Wow. As a blind viewer, seeing this for the first time was amazing. That finale was truly spectacular and breathtaking. Black and White's storyline is truly amazing, and completely different for a Pokémon game, which I think is very welcome. Amazing finale again, congrats to the Pokémon team, and thank you Chuggaaconroy for Let's Playing this game.
Fallen shadow it's not going to be the end of the entire series, however, if the endgame crap is gonna be counted as bonus episodes, we're gonna have to wait 5 years for them
HOLY. SHIT! That battle had me at the edge of my seat. I cannot believe you made it through that even with the anxious-inducing music. Not even Cyrus nor Lusamine come close to how intimidating that battle was.
That clefable was a nightmare. I had to nasty plot with my salazzle and then hit it twice, hoping for no moonblast drops. Then there was the rest of her team...
Technically, Nanu deals with Team Skull and some of the gym leaders help with the Sordward/Shielbert situation, but I agree that they have never been this integrated and will never be this integrated again. That is unfortunately left to fan games.
My God that Ghetsis battle was Beyond entertaining and intense XD. That Hydriegon is so damn powerful. I think they nerfed him in the sequel, because of how ridiculously overpowered he was. That bouffalant also gave me problems as well. lol N isn't too hard, but Ghetsis, jesus he was hard.
i'm almost done with the postgame of US/UM and I'm FINALLY up to Giovanni (though I tried about 6 times and still can't beat him), though I managed to beat Ghetsis in one go. His Bouffalant SUCKED, seriously, screw that thing.
While they did nerfed his hydreigon, they held no punches for Iris' when you had to face her. Good grief that thing destroyed my entire team with out even sneezing!
51:38 You sounds like you’re on the verge of tears of both joy and distraught. I think this sums up everything; how far this journey’s taken you. And I just had a thought; are your Pokémon from the past going to join you in the Bonus Content? I feel like they deserve to be with you at this time; to see the journey you’ve had in the past few months; to see how much you’ve grown.
An amazing finale! But MASAE'S ART, HELLO?! She's such an incredible artist! Why are there not more people talking about that mural the comments, it had me shook. 👌
I really like the Black version of this story. I think it fits better with truth. N is persuing this ideal of Pokemon free from people, but keeps getting confronted with the truth, people and Pokemon LIKE one another. I also would like to think the girl protagonist is canon for once. ...but I'm also FerrisWheelShipping trash.
I don't know how much you've read the BW Adventures arc, but the N/Hilda ship probably can't be seen the same way again after its own Ferris Wheel scene.
I have read some of the Adventures manga but not Black and White. I stopped in between Diamond and Pearl and Platinum I think. Isn't it that her Tepig leaves her or something along those lines?
EkiAku The Tepig leaves, N guilt trips her over it, and she's left lying on the floor crying herself unconscious. It's one of the most infamous scenes of that entire arc, and kinda paints N in a much less sympathetic light.
I’m the other way around actually. I feel that the Dragons don’t necessarily side with one who embodies the virtue as much as with the one who VALUES that virtue, and seeks it out. The Dragons are incomplete beings, spirits of the Id and Ego of the original one. N has been led his whole life to think one way, until YOU appeared. By the time he meets Reshiram, he doesn’t so much want to tell the world or force his will as he does want to know the truth himself. And to N, he doesn’t wish to befriend the dragon in order to use its strength against those who question him, he wants to befriend it because that would mean, to him, that he was right. You, meanwhile, don’t know what to think anymore. You’ve been taking these guys along for god gold and glory, and you start to fear that maybe they don’t really want this. But despite this, the further you go, one thing becomes more and more clear: whether battles are the right way to bond or not, people and Pokémon are intertwined. You don’t fight for a specific goal, you fight for a feeling, a faith in a tomorrow where we maybe understand each other a bit better, even if we don’t always know what others are thinking. You seek to bring about a world of hope. There is a third way, however, based on how multiple NPCs allude to “another place, another time”. Perhaps both stories happen at once. Perhaps neither story is whole without the other...
I applaud Game Freak for giving us Satan in human form in terms of actions and personality, so they wanted us to hate him. We hated him so much, he was fought only one time in every game he appeared in. I know how terrifying and tough evil can be and Ghetsis fits those two very well. By the time we were about to fight him in Pokemon Black and White, he was playing god all along. Beating him twice must have hurt his pride, and outraged himself to eleven only to make himself worse. It just shows that outraging yourself is too dangerous and you can die from using that.
If I remember correctly, N's battle theme consists of all/mostly prime numbers! (I named my zekrom Friend. I felt like I had something to prove to N when I named them that, honestly the name stuck!)
Ilyasa Amiry As of me typing this comment, it’s been around a year and a half since he started White Version. White 2 takes place 2 years after White, and we know how Chugga is about these things... Just to guess his team in advance: Emboar (more likely than serperior i think; as a lot of Unova Fire is a bit too commonly used, and it shows off the lovely move tutors usefulness) Azumarill (relatively uncommonly used from what I’ve seen, yet extremely powerful and fun) Magnezone (area based evolution, gives a lot of resistances and has Sturdy) Roserade (he praised it before and how good it is in Gen V, this would be a perfect time to use it) Accelgor (he said he wanted to use it in White, and this would be a reasonable addition to this team as well) Gliscor (he always likes to have something later on to wrap the team up, and Gliscor fits his love of tanky Pokémon. It can also spam acrobatics, iirc) These predictions are probably way off, but it’ll be cool to see how close I Get
@@spindash64 well it's almost a year since you last commented and I'm deeply saddened that he hasn't continued since. I've only recently found this channel just to watch a playthrough of this game because I've personally never played it before and I find him enjoying to watch. Man, it kinda sucks when I found out he didn't continue the series. You have any recommendations as to who to watch with the sequels?
SPOILERS! So, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's going to post about this, but Ghetsis utterly wrecked me on my first and second playthroughs of this game. That Hydriegon is near unstoppable, especially if you're not prepared for it, and after fighting several pokemon that already far out-classed my own, I didn't stand a chance. On a different note, anyone else hyped for the possibility of Black & White 2? They're my favorite games in the series, and I would love to see my favorite Let's Player go through them.
Ben Quinnobi one time when I battled Ghetsis, he beat me 6 times in a row and my Pokemon eventually got pokerus because of it. Because of the pokerus, I ended up winning.
It's not too far-fetched that those might be done eventually, they are so much more than just the same game re-done with minor differences in story and gameplay, which makes sense since they are a direct sequel, the story is expanded further from where this one left off, plus with some old faces returning and being changed after the two years between the stories, as well as some new people being introduced, there's a lot that can be done with that game. I think it's a good possibility that those sequels get done, not now obviously, but maybe a couple projects down the road
I can’t wait for B2W2. I’ve never played those games (only Black 1) but after being reminded of how amazing Gen V was I want to go to Gamestop and buy Black 2 right away.
Hey Chugga? You did it, you changed my mind entirely about this game. It really is a pretty great game, and a wonderful installment of the series. Thanks for doing that.
Thank you. It means a lot to hear, I will try to have the post-game up once I'm healed from the surgery that delayed this finale and we can have more big adventures in Unova.
Small detail I just noticed, Zekrom has red eyes despite his blue/black coloring and Reshiram has blue eyes despite his red/white coloring. Maybe everyone noticed it years ago and I'm just stupid, but hey, maybe someone else didn't notice
Another cool thing about Ns theme is if you wear headphones while you listen to the music at the climaxes when the you can hear the heartbeat it moves from one side of you headphones to the other
Man, they *Really* want you to use your version legendary because they break their own rules to do it. They have someone who will give you infinite Ultra Balls in case you run out, and a guy to warp you to the Pokemon League in case you're really not ready. The only way to avoid catching your legendary dragon is if your entire party is full, and all of your boxes are full, in which case it'll appear in Dragonspiral Tower, which is your very last chance to catch it.
I really enjoyed Black and White. I truly see where you come from with the story. Unova has always been in my heart as one of my favorite regions. I think the games are amazing and are improved in the sequels!
*After an epic ending...* Ghetsis: Delicious Invisible Burger! Also my Archeops vs Archeops Battle didn’t go very well... N’s Archeops hit first, and it 1 Shot my Arui (Archeops) even though they were the same level... Yay...
I had a talk with my roommates about our favorite Pokemon game. When I told them gen 5 was my favorite, they both said it was super forgettable. I literally shouted "EXCUSE ME?!" and began to rant to then about why gen 5 is the best. Thank you chuggaa for this awesome lp. And I can't wait for post game.
Black and white are THE most unforgettable Pokemon games. The story was just perfect especially with N. I’m glad people are coming to appreciate black and white now.
The credits music that plays at 49:55 is titled "Onward to our Own Futures." Such a fantastic piece of music and, quite honestly, it is my absolute favourite video game sound track of all time. A perfect fit to the end of an incredible journey that really makes you think about different points of view, whether it's in the story of the game itself or in the real world. Generation 5 is phenomenal, and you've done a commendable job of expressing your enthusiasm about it so far. I hope your enthusiasm encourages people who have differing opinions towards Gen 5 to reconsider their views and appreciate the positive things that make Unova's games unique.
i have kind of a funny story with his Hyrdeigon... so after going through most of his pokemon and getting mine pretty beaten up and fainted throughout it, his second to last pokemon was his hydreigon, the one i feared most. so, i went in with my beartic, hoping i could take it down, but nope. he got knocked out FAST. so, i went into my reshiram and quickly healed, until he hit me with a focus blast or dragon pulse or whatever (i cant remember) and got me into yellow health. i was freaking out, thinking that i would lose, so i had to use an extremely cheap strategy. i realized that eventually, if he kept trying to hit with focus blast (which he kept doing for some reason), he'd miss, and i'd be able to get a hit off, so i waited and kept healing reshiram until he missed and managed to hit him. i think i was faster, so i hit him again with dragon breath and knocked it out, where i then proceeded to fusion flare his bisharp. it was pretty stressful to say the least...
Hydreigon is easy as hell to beat. The elemental monkeys destroy it with fighting gem boosted focus blast, and if you have a fast or bulky fighting type you can just ohko it with your stab move.
By the way, you caught Zekrom in a Quick Ball... which pretty much matches this guy to a T. I mean, look at the lightning bolts of the Quick Ball; Zekrom is tailored for that!
NoobSlayerAdvanced I usually get zekrom in an ultra ball and reshiram in a timer ball. Both of them fit well and are actually great balls to catch them in
To this day, I still remember the nighttime car ride on the NJ Turnpike in which I first beat this game. That ending almost brought me to tears, and I resisted EXPLORERS OF SKY. It was just awesome. (And incidentally, White is the first and only Pokémon game that I’ve ever managed to max out the playtime counter. And it’s also the origin of my strongest and most experienced team EVER: Samurott, Chandelure, Bisharp, Tropius, Heracross, and Haxorus, the former three of which are Level 100. Samurott was my first Lv. 100, btw.)
The only Mystery Dungeon ending that I don’t cry at is Super, and even then m, that’s only because the final words from your partner are “don’t you cry.”
+Nightmare Cookie Wait you mean as PMD's writing is bad or that it can be emotionally written? Cause you know if you actually read back most dialogue in PMD it runs on rather badly, overly explaining a situation and can ironically come off childish when it has plenty of moments where I don't think it feels as such, but other times it really does
Ah, so that's what Ghetsis' plan was all along... DELICIOUS INVISIBLE BURGERS!!! But seriously, what an intense battle, Emile! Kinda fitting that you ended it with only Zekrom standing, to be honest. Made it even more epic in my opinion. This ending really is something else, even if it kinda sucks that it ends too quickly. Really excited to see what's in store for the post game!
34:58 - I remember when I was facing against Hydreigon in my Black LP. I brought out Setsuna (my Samurott) because she knew Megahorn. Sadly, it only did about half his health, and his Dragon Breath did more than half my health. So I decided to sack Setsuna so I could bring out Eddward (my Galvantula). I had Signal Beam as my bug type move, so I use that, but he was faster than me and used Fire Blast... But the Fire Blast missed Eddward when it could have easily knocked him out. Eddward did take down the Hydreigon with Signal Beam, and the rest of the fight took less than a few minutes. XD And, before anyone asks... Yes, Eddward is named after Double D from EEnE. Because he likes bugs and invents a lot of things, so I thought that would be a fitting name for a Galvantula. :P ALSO! Anyone remember Snuggltits from Lucah's LP of White? I do.
ffajx I meant to get a Frillish, but I never got around to it. My team was Serperior, Sawk, Krookodile, Vanilluxe, and Garbodor. I had to use a Max Revive on Krookodile, but only because Ghetsis was being weird. He used a Full Restore on his Cofagriegus, but my Krookodile still took him down. His Hydreigon was faster and hit Krookodile for the KO as expected. Sawk was up next, so I could get a sturdy-reversal combo going. I nailed Hydreigon, taking it down to red health in one shot, though it hit Sawk fairly well too, doing about 3/4 his health. I went for reversal, expecting Ghetsis to heal, but he didn't and took me out. Not only that, but he refused to heal at all, for the rest of the battle. It threw me off, and I had to revive, to pick off his Bisharp with a 4x brick break.
That final battle was the most intense battle I've seen in a long while! I loved this series soooo much not just because Unova is my favourite region, but because you approached this project, like you've approached all your other projects, with such passion and enthusiasm! You're a real inspiration man! Keep being you. Also I laughed more than I should have about that joke after the credits lol. I really look forward to watching the rest of this adventure unfold!
I felt like the ending of this game was done fantastically even if a few things were wrapped up a bit too quickly. N is such a good character and him setting out to find his purpose was such a good way to end his story in this game! Also, N's Farewell is my favourite song in the game! Congrats on finishing up the main story and I look forward to the post game after you get better from having your appendix taken out!
Welp, this has been a fun ride! Now to cover the other half of the Unova region, the ACTUAL Champion battle, AND White Forest, just to name a couple things. This may be ten episodes shorter than Platinum's main story was, but I guarantee that this series is going to be longer overall.
He says in the video he's doing post-game. He also said around the 7th badge he would cover Black's finale build-up seperately too, which I imagine is a big undertaking.
Honestly, it’s so fitting that that line is said in Pokémon NYC. If a group of charismatic leaders did a similar stunt in the US today and avoided being seen as cult leaders or right-wingers, that line alone would probably turn many people to their side even if they are wary of cult leaders. That line describes USA for all its lifetime.
oh my god N's dragon is naturally 2 levels higher. That actually makes so much sense because he HAD them for a bit longer, even if gameplay wise it might seem unfair.
Think about it, your dragon is lower leveled which means it’s slower, thus the power of the fusion moves double and you hit a lot harder even though it’s resisted
Dear god that Ghetsis battle was intenseeeeeee Just binged the last of the episodes and damn. It's been an incredibly fun & amazing journey and I enjoyed every minute of it. Absolutely can't wait for the post game stuff. Not sure if you'll ever see this but I hope you're feeling better, hearing what you've been dealing with really had me worried.
The way Pokemon generations showed the six sages and the gym leader fight in that 3 or 4 minute animation was absolutely AMAZING. seeing that scene from black and white when it first came out, and then seeing the animation adaption, i was super excited to get to this part in general, just to compare the two.
I rewatched the Dark Stone cutscene about thirty times as a kid by soft resetting my game every time it ended. It still holds up as one of the best Pokemon cutscenes to date imo.
N breaks everything: In mathematics, it stands for indeterminate number. In music, it breaks the music notes. N's name stands for Natural which also sounds like Neutral, he is neither black nor white. Ctrl N in computer commands means new files.
This was an incredible journey of not only enjoyment, but Nostalgia as well. This was the very first Pokemon game that I played, and I fell in love with this game from the moment I chose Tepig as my starter, and Its always had a really special place in my heart. Thank you chugga, for making me re live my not so distant memories, and bring me through this adventure for one. last.time.
Actually Chugga in the official players guide for this game it says that Cilan, Cress, and Chilly(sorry If spelt his name wrong) would have helped had Bianca gotten there in time to recruit them, I believe they mention that in the post game as well when you talk to them. Might be something you wanna bring up when you cover the post game thx. :)
5:58 Only Chugga, the one who keeps pointing out how innocent his childhood was, would think someone who says "there is nothing more beautiful and terrifying than innocence" is weird.
It was, at least in my opinion, poetic justice that the final pokemon that took down Ghetsis's final pokemon when everyone else was down, was the very pokemon his team had been built to take down and the one he believed meant nothing and doubted meant that his opponent would defeat him due to it being "just a pokemon" Poetic Freaking Justice
White version was my first pokemon game. Seeing chugga start a lets play of its sequel prompted me to go back and watch this one in preparation. And man. Seeing it all again brought back so many memories. And seeing the ending again, now able to understand it more clearly, Genuinely brought a tear to my eye. I know we still have some post game to get through, but seeing this journey all over again through such a charismatic youtuber like you has singlehandedly renewed my faith in the series. Looking forward to seeing Black/White 2.
while I prefer the story in Sun and Moon, Black and White have easily the best finale. The only main pokemon game to properly wrap up a big story with the final battle
Kano hau had little to no plot relevance and his character was just DUDE MASALADAS LMAOOO and lillie only stopped being a whiny idiot for the last 5 minutes of the game and im so glad she fucked off to kanto
S/M story stinks, US/UM Kukui should of been the villain and Ultra Emperor; N would of appeared and Giovanni would of appeared capturing Necrozma and plan to revive the Ultra Emperor. Lusamine should also be champion of Alola & E4 should be Hala, Olivia, Molayne, Kahili. I am currently starting a campaign to change the story and fix the game with new Alolan formes, new Poke Ride feat Latios & Latias, and RR2: Resurrection Kukui
Yay! 10 Years of Lets Plays! Been watching for 7 years.... You've always managed to cheer me up when I'm down. Here's to many more years of enjoyment, excitement and laughs!!
And don’t forget about the former Team Rocket grunt in Iccirus City. It’s all but stated to be set after Gen 2, so maybe Ghetsis recovered some of their tech to evolve Hydreigon.
I replayed my copy of Black while watching this series and loved it so much it made me replay my Black 2. I'm towards the end of the story of that and, oh my GOODNESS - I forgot how sheerly awesome they both were! Hats off to you, Emile for making this just SO GOOD
The AI calling switches? What is this, the battle frontier?! Now that I’m rewatching this, between your voice acting as N, Ghetsis, and Porky in earthbound 2, you could easily be a pretty great voice actor
I have to say, everything in this moment, from the castle emerging, the gym leaders arriving to battle the six sages, and the final battles, made this a really strong moment for me.
How did you beat Ghetsis on your first try?! This guy not only has THREE powerhouses (Hydreigon, Eelektross, Bouffalant), but he also has Toxic staller (Cofagrigus). This fight took me so many hours to beat. Anyway, this ending is by far the best any Pokemon game has to offer.
True story. First time playing this I embarrassed Ghetsis by beating his Hydreigon with an EMOLGA. Granted I used Paralysis + Attract + Air Slash flinch stall, but it's still funny to me
I managed to beat Ghetsis on my first try! Granted I used all of my max revives to do it, but still! But Yeah, Ghetsis is the hardest boss I've ever faced in a pokemon game.
mushroomdude123 ikr I ended up getting my whole team up to lvl 60 in victory road (I wasn’t the smartest back then) and my haxorus to lvl 68 to get guillotine and outrage and I could finally beat him the post game was a breeze after that though as my team was at a sufficient level already
When i played through i swept his team on my first try, i used a haxorus against his cofagrigus and got 2 dragon dances up from there it was one hit central
Reshiram and Zekrom don't have only one signature move each. Reshiram having Fusion Flare then Blue Flare at lvl 100. Zekrom having Fusion Bolt but also Bolt Strike at lvl 100
ExpressedWolf0 Also, if you want to compare Reshiram and Zekrom, look at "Yu-Gi-Oh!" Reshiram=Blue-Eyes White Dragon Zekrom=Red-Eyes Black Dragon. You're welcome.
Natural Harmonia Gropius... a name that puts Hilbert the Hero to shame.
The Tetris Master A line worthy of an honorable Chugga seal of approval.
The Tetris Master this video is like the end of the last let’s play final boss is not the REAL final boss
When I first read that I thought Gropius sounded like an evolution to Tropius. Years later, I feel bad for N to be stuck with that name.
When Tropius interrupts your personal space. It becomes Gropius.
XD
Seismitoad betrayed Ghetsis and saved all of Unova with that random Rain Dance...perhaps all of the butt jiggles from the Palpitoads were foreshadowing this event.

You call N's childhood room peaceful? I call it broken; the music is super eerie, the toys show that N is kinda being kept under Ghetsis' thumb/kept a child, the fact that his room still looks like that even though he's grown up now, and the messy state... It gives me chills in the best of ways.
Purple Patchwork yeah...
its really sad actually, glad N gets revenge and sees the best truth and ideal
The fact that N said that he had never seen a Pokemon that liked its trainer shows that Ghetsis never really let him out into the real world in order to make sure he never figured out that the narrative was a lie. Eerie.
People in our society get upset when children are taken to rallies because they can be used as pawns for those few hours that they're there, but Ghetsis' treatment of N manages to hit so much worse because N was treated like a pawn _his whole life,_ and everything Ghetsis did to N built up to the climax of this story.
Could the train represent something about N?
Hydreigon, evolves from zweilous at level 64
Ghetsis: *casually has level 54 hydreigon*
So Ghetsis, what rustling grass did you find that in?
He and Lance would be good friends
Goes to show even Game Freak knew that evolution was absurd and a terrible choice.
i think it even has hacked moves lol
Diamonds_Realm Gaming like Lance has his level 40 something dragonigth
Two fun facts regarding Ghetsis
1)His Hydregion has a moveset that would hit all of N's champion team for SE damage.
And?
EDIT: Now that I can actually SEE the second half, that really sucks for N.
TheTwilitHero And what? They're fun facts. Cool ones at that.
Fact 3.
Delicious invisible burgers.
What is RR and USM?
Rainbow Rocket and Ultra Sun/Moon
Actual no I don't find this a tangent I find this interesting.
fuyuseetaa I just read that right before bed. Im going to have nightmares
Uh i know this is 2 Months old but you ignored the positive impact the protagonist has on N. As well as his experiences traveling Unova.
Another disturbing part is that N was raised by Pokemon until Ghetsis found him. Ghetsis was willing to use an abandoned child to accomplish his goals.
no your on topic so it's not really a tangent
your also completely right this is pretty disturbing
Dan Fraser
Bro, said vanilluxe saved my damned team’s ass in my first playthru by dodging Fire Blast and getting a Crit OHKO on Hackdreigon

Pokémon equivalency to Judge Vinsmoke
And then his mind literally goes nuclear and -Cilan, Chili, and Cress- the Shadow Triad has to go deposit him in the nearest mental institution.
Ace in the Hole
So that's why they didn't join the Gym leaders at the end there, huh? The plot thickens
GoGojiraGo when I watched how Ghetsis acted in Black and White 2 I wasn’t to disturbed, but that scene with Ghetsis in the Ultra Sun and Moon post game, it horrified me how far he would go to achieve his ambitions
Ace in the Hole that’s a huge theory. A game theory.
Fun fact: Ghetsis' Hydregon can sweep N's team; it's moveset covers all of N's final team. Makes you wonder what would've happened if N won, huh.
DahTaipo that's actually cool, I've never noticed that, but I could just be a coincidence
DahTaipo Ghetsis would've killed N and stolen Reshiram/Zekrom obviously.
@@Potterholic1 I can't even bear to imagine that scenario, but since it's Ghetsis... That's not too much of a stretch, really...
In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, the Ultra Space version of Ghetsis successfully beat N and stole Reshiram/Zekrom.
to be fair Hydregon can sweep my team pretty easy too.
Fun fact: the fusion bolt/flare effect occurs when one move is used then followed by the other; it does not have to be used ON reshiram or zekrom to get the effect. That's why using both in double battles is pretty op.
Wow that does sound op
And this is why i ALWAYS set My Reshiram and Zekrom first in my party when doing double battles in Pokemon Omega Ruby. (My friend traded me his Zekrom for me to keep, Tnx bro)
I call them Truth and Ideals in my head. U know, cause Reshiram represents the Truth, and Zekrom represents Ideals.
I guess it’s balanced out by them both being weak to Earthquake

N's room is meant to suggest just how sheltered he is. He hasn't really grown as a person, having no experience with trainers whom have treated their Pokemon well. Ghestis has only put N near Pokemon who were mistreated. N was only a pawn to his father, conditioned and groomed to meet his father's ambitions from childhood days. He is...for the lack of a nicer, more appropriate term (because N has never been responsible for his own state of being), a man-child, raised to be innocent and pure. His room, with its music, is tailor-made to embody that.
Dragonpit isn’t he like 16? So he is sort of still a child
The implication is that he's been denied opportunities and experiences that would've allowed him to grow and mature properly. It's to suggest how Ghetsis has basically hand-crafted him. His age matters little beyond that.
Dragonpit right

When you think about it, doesn't every Pokémon feel hurt when it's left to rot in a PC box? OMG! I think I'm turning into a Team Plasma grunt!

Not really unconventional, Arceus had a simmilar battle theme
fun fact. Cilan,Chili and Cress don't turn up in the seven sages scene because Bianca doesn't actually get to them in time as evident in their conversation with them after you beat the game.
that 1 LAD There’s also the theory that they are the Shadow Triad.

Ghetsis, not just evil as in his plan, but evil as in he hacked for a Hydreigon.
Ghetsis probably tortured his Zweilous until it evolved and then just kept going. I had the TM for Frustration and I never used it. The fact that his Hydreigon has Frustration means that Ghetsis treated his Hydreigon and the rest of his team like garbage.
And he figured out how to create invisible burgers and kept them for himself.
Nah, he just found the 5% Hydreigon at level 54 in Kalos Victory Road and kept it
Steel4, seeing as Zweilous evolves when one of its heads devours the other, Ghetsis could have forced his Zweilous to evolve early by cutting of one of its heads prematurely.
WildKatGirl the hell did you find that information
He shows us that let's plays can be an exciting story filled with dedication and love and passion from the maker of the let's play.

i don't understand when people say 'black and white was bland/boring'
this story was great albeit a bit quick
Maybe back then people were too critical about the new Pokemon they showed off and how it didn't feel right after Gen 4, but boy have the times have changed.
Story was great and I haven't played it in years, but there was just something about it that I just couldn't get interested in it. I'm sure if I played it now, that I'd enjoy it a lot but I felt bored with much of it. It felt too easy up until the elite 4 onwards and so many of the best mons need to be leveled up so dang high before becoming viable. That said, after everything Chugga highlighted in this game, I do think it'd be fun to play again if I still had my copy.
I think they were more focused on bashing the game for the ice cream Pokemon to care about anything else.
Vela Nova Well, they should be careful what they wish for since Gen 6 exists now.
Agree people just complain about the Pokemon in the game and didn't care about the plot of the game
Gen 1: The most nostalgic
Gen 2: Best post game
Gen 3: Best designed region imo
Gen 4: Hardest game and best Pokemon designs imo
Gen 5: Best storyline and soundtrack imo
Gen 6: Mega evolution
Gen 7: Z moves and ya boi Guzma 😂
Mega Evolution and Fairy-type are the only positive things out of X/Y
Some things you missed:
Gen 4: Physical/Special split!
My best things about Pokemon:
Gen 1: Nostalgic vibes overload!!
Gen 2: Gym Battles galore!!
Gen 3: Best designed region ever! (Team Magma disagrees because it's 7.8/10 Too much water!!)
Gen 4: Physical/Special Split and new Pokemon evolutions from previous evolutionary lines.

2. One bleeding gym leader vs just about all of them isn't exactly a point in sinnoh's favor Xp
Tom Franck Orre region?
He also has a pokemon which is insanely good and beats the legendary dragons 1v1. That Hydreigon is really scary, and makes this battle really special
Tbh he may be the most evil but lysandres was the CLOSEST to success in his plans

No, the Pokémon Generations episode named The Uprising.
Adam Rhodes I know. It's just a joke
I gotta say that team galactic was my favorite villain team. After all, they were trying to destroy the world. Not take it over
Michael Card Damn good analysis you have there. It's true, Cyrus was a villain that gave off an aura like none other in the series.
CosmicFlare I still found Platinum a better game
Pokémon Black and White - Episode 56 [seismatoad almost seals the entire fate of the Unova region]
7:47
"As part of his plan to take Pokemon away from their people, my lord N entrusted some Pokemon to me. I've been spending time with them...and I don't think I want to let them go. I...may not be cut out for Team Plasma."
8:13
"This Pokemon has become attached to me. But as far as I'm concerned, a Pokemon is just a simple tool. I don't understand..."
It's Grunts like these that make me love Team Plasma for how nuanced it is compared to the other teams.
+SweetWheatsy
I definitely feel you.
(Or he tried to befriend a wild Panpour without *using* a Poke Ball; it was one of the two, but neither option sounds very good because it implies it's not possible for some people to befriend Pokemon naturally unless they have it under the ownership of a Poke Ball.)
And then there's N himself in the sequels, whose main goal now is, now that he perfectly accepts battles as a rational way for people and Pokemon to get to know each other, to try and create a world where people and Pokemon can befriend each other without the use of Poke Balls, and essentially plans to abolish them.
+SweetWheatsy
I found 6th gen pretty underwhelming first as well, but I grew to appreciate it--or at least, what it was trying to do--overtime.
According to a few PokeDex entries and some subtext derived from the Pokemon that appear in SOS battles:
Sableye eat Carbink, but since Gabite often collect and eat jewels, they often hunt for Sableye thanks to their eyes or the Carbink that they try to eat.

While Im at the (N and Blaire speech) After the Ghetsis Battle..
Wilfred Cthulu i think bw2 have more postgame actually
Of course he will. But, not for a while probably as he just got his appendix removed

I'd say it's the biggest rather than one of the...

YEAH

HOLY. SHIT!
That battle had me at the edge of my seat. I cannot believe you made it through that even with the anxious-inducing music. Not even Cyrus nor Lusamine come close to how intimidating that battle was.
K.Spirit it loses all tension if you (like I did) bring 20 max revives and 6 lvl 60+ Pokémon.
K.Spirit all of Cyrus' Pokemon gave me trouble, the only thing that gave me trouble in the battle with Lusamine was that goddamn Clefable
That clefable was a nightmare. I had to nasty plot with my salazzle and then hit it twice, hoping for no moonblast drops. Then there was the rest of her team...
I brought so many Revives and actually used Max Revives (which I never do) during the Ghetsis fight and I still lost over and over. 😭😭😭
The fact they made the Gym Leaders part of the story is like the BEST thing ever in a Pokemon game. Its too bad that the newer ones don't have that.
His Hydreigon is physical based in the sequel
They gave it a life orb though....
THATS WHAT SHE SAID
i'm almost done with the postgame of US/UM and I'm FINALLY up to Giovanni (though I tried about 6 times and still can't beat him), though I managed to beat Ghetsis in one go. His Bouffalant SUCKED, seriously, screw that thing.
While they did nerfed his hydreigon, they held no punches for Iris' when you had to face her. Good grief that thing destroyed my entire team with out even sneezing!
The one opportunity Chugga will use a legendary on his team. That was a great artwork transition with the two dragons as well!
52:57 *Delicious invisible burger!!!*
Kinda similar to ANOTHER invisible food meme with another member of TRG...Hi-ho.
I saw that popping up last night watching Tom Fawkes stream Jackbox games and I didn't get it cuz I hadn't watched the end of the credits lol
Me right after 52:57: "This is the destiny burger!!!"
Ghetsis, a man driven by greed, power, and *an insatiable appetite!*
XD
An amazing finale! But MASAE'S ART, HELLO?! She's such an incredible artist! Why are there not more people talking about that mural the comments, it had me shook. 👌
Ikr?! She's one of the best artists I've seen on the internet.
Ikine Agreed. ♡
Yusssss Masae
Yeah her art is wonderful. She's great.
In most artwork i see though, The Hero has Zekrom while N has Reshiram. And I think emile wanted to highlight that by playing White.
Prime numbers, in what way? In the harmonics and the tonal intervals based on the ground-note?
SweetWheatsy Masuda explains the whole prime number’s stuff of N’s battle theme here! www.gamefreak.co.jp/blog/dir_english/category.php?cat=5
Thats adorable
Funny, I called my first Palkia Friend too because it stayed in the first ball I threw.
"this story is far from over', i really do hope emile LP black and white 2 as soon as possible
Ilyasa Amiry
As of me typing this comment, it’s been around a year and a half since he started White Version. White 2 takes place 2 years after White, and we know how Chugga is about these things...
Just to guess his team in advance:
Emboar (more likely than serperior i think; as a lot of Unova Fire is a bit too commonly used, and it shows off the lovely move tutors usefulness)
Azumarill (relatively uncommonly used from what I’ve seen, yet extremely powerful and fun)
Magnezone (area based evolution, gives a lot of resistances and has Sturdy)
Roserade (he praised it before and how good it is in Gen V, this would be a perfect time to use it)
Accelgor (he said he wanted to use it in White, and this would be a reasonable addition to this team as well)
Gliscor (he always likes to have something later on to wrap the team up, and Gliscor fits his love of tanky Pokémon. It can also spam acrobatics, iirc)
These predictions are probably way off, but it’ll be cool to see how close I Get
@@spindash64 well it's almost a year since you last commented and I'm deeply saddened that he hasn't continued since. I've only recently found this channel just to watch a playthrough of this game because I've personally never played it before and I find him enjoying to watch. Man, it kinda sucks when I found out he didn't continue the series.
You have any recommendations as to who to watch with the sequels?
Jason Lim
I don’t know anyone specific off the top of my head, although Marriland has Wedlock’s of White and White 2, iirc
Wouldn't hold my breath lol.
The transition into reshirams bio was soooooo nice
The one time chuggaa couldn't put a pun in the title it's in the thumbnail👏👏👏
I managed to sweep his whole team with lilligant once. But on my first play through i got utterly destroyed
I can’t wait for B2W2. I’ve never played those games (only Black 1) but after being reminded of how amazing Gen V was I want to go to Gamestop and buy Black 2 right away.
Good thing I bought the guide at the same time I bought the games, so I was ready for Hydreigon.
Very much intentional, yeah
blue vs. red
black vs. white
It will respawn when you beat the elite4.
I really enjoyed Black and White. I truly see where you come from with the story. Unova has always been in my heart as one of my favorite regions. I think the games are amazing and are improved in the sequels!
Bisharp is my favorite Dragon-Type.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmscuse me
It's a reference to something Chugga said in the video XD
Same
*After an epic ending...*
Ghetsis: Delicious Invisible Burger!
PixelChaos N is not forgetable!!
TheNitr01 onwards to Unova 2.
Hydreigon was a nightmare to beat in Pokemon Black and White. No wonder Ghetsis gets sneered so much for his Satanic personality.
i have kind of a funny story with his Hyrdeigon...
so after going through most of his pokemon and getting mine pretty beaten up and fainted throughout it, his second to last pokemon was his hydreigon, the one i feared most. so, i went in with my beartic, hoping i could take it down, but nope. he got knocked out FAST. so, i went into my reshiram and quickly healed, until he hit me with a focus blast or dragon pulse or whatever (i cant remember) and got me into yellow health. i was freaking out, thinking that i would lose, so i had to use an extremely cheap strategy. i realized that eventually, if he kept trying to hit with focus blast (which he kept doing for some reason), he'd miss, and i'd be able to get a hit off, so i waited and kept healing reshiram until he missed and managed to hit him. i think i was faster, so i hit him again with dragon breath and knocked it out, where i then proceeded to fusion flare his bisharp. it was pretty stressful to say the least...
Hydreigon is easy as hell to beat. The elemental monkeys destroy it with fighting gem boosted focus blast, and if you have a fast or bulky fighting type you can just ohko it with your stab move.
@@williethenerfherder2193 you want to drag an elemental monkey through the entire game though?
@@Zek3nator I've done it multiple times with simisage. I ran seed bomb, acrobatics, rock slide, and focus blast. He fucked shit up with his coverage.
By the way, you caught Zekrom in a Quick Ball... which pretty much matches this guy to a T. I mean, look at the lightning bolts of the Quick Ball; Zekrom is tailored for that!
i usually catch zekrom in a pokeball and reshiram in premier.
CosmicStarlightEX it matched him to a TIEN!
NoobSlayerAdvanced
I usually get zekrom in an ultra ball and reshiram in a timer ball.
100, btw.)
How do you even tolarate PMD's writing???
Of course you would have an heracross because of your name
The only Mystery Dungeon ending that I don’t cry at is Super, and even then m, that’s only because the final words from your partner are “don’t you cry.”
Heracross X Black 2 wa interesting...
XD
And, before anyone asks... Yes, Eddward is named after Double D from EEnE. Because he likes bugs and invents a lot of things, so I thought that would be a fitting name for a Galvantula. :P
ALSO!
I quoted N in my Eagle Scout speech. He really spoke to me about having that dream and making it come true.
Probably also Black City cause he's covering both games
Harrison Baguley so is chuggaconroy gonna do the after game events or is this the end of the adventure
More like the other third of Unova, but I agree that this post-game is gonna be really interesting.
He says in the video he's doing post-game. He also said around the 7th badge he would cover Black's finale build-up seperately too, which I imagine is a big undertaking.
In the e *N* d, he fights him using Zekrom against the one with the *Blue eyes, White Dragon* ...
SSB&AnimeCrossover you made my day XD
He even has green hair
Your Blue Eyes White Dragon is no match for my Red Eyes Black Dragon!
I doN't care for Yugio, but that is great!
Yes so that means chugga has the red eyes black dragon... I could strangely see him doing puns in yugioh
"Superior men understand what is right"
"Inferior men understand what will sell"
Oh the irony, this is too perfect.
NINTENDO!
I love that whole speech! Does anybody know the name of the ost that plays during it?
This game's ending made me smile. Thank you for playing this game, Chugga.
oh my god N's dragon is naturally 2 levels higher. That actually makes so much sense because he HAD them for a bit longer, even if gameplay wise it might seem unfair.
Think about it, your dragon is lower leveled which means it’s slower, thus the power of the fusion moves double and you hit a lot harder even though it’s resisted
Dear god that Ghetsis battle was intenseeeeeee
Just binged the last of the episodes and damn. It's been an incredibly fun & amazing journey and I enjoyed every minute of it. Absolutely can't wait for the post game stuff.
Not sure if you'll ever see this but I hope you're feeling better, hearing what you've been dealing with really had me worried.
Been refreshing the page for a few minutes now, but I'm finally here! Dinner and coffee is made, let's get it!
Ardentex of course you’re having coffee when you have a Godot avatar.
That's hilarious, have your upvote, sir.
you will drink 17 coffees over the course of this video (or is it 16? I don't remember)
Dammit Godot you can't drink 17 cups of coffee!
Not gonna lie, I wanted to see Hilbert the freaking Hero slay Ghetsis's Hydreigon being that the Light Screen would've been set up for it. 😅
N breaks everything: In mathematics, it stands for indeterminate number. In music, it breaks the music notes. N's name stands for Natural which also sounds like Neutral, he is neither black nor white. Ctrl N in computer commands means new files.
In Oregon Trail, it means no
This was an incredible journey of not only enjoyment, but Nostalgia as well.
I just wanted to say your voice acting is spot on! You made the ending scene as touching as it should be.
5:58 Only Chugga, the one who keeps pointing out how innocent his childhood was, would think someone who says "there is nothing more beautiful and terrifying than innocence" is weird.
starflame34 You missed the part after...?
The Fact that Ghetsis manipulated his own son to get what he wants shows Ghetsis cares only for himself
I think that N is Ghetsis' adopted son, same as his other siblings.
That's true. Ghetsis adopted N and his other two siblings.
The Blue Gallade Only for himself, and his DELICIOUS INVISIBLE BURGER
It's implied (albeit lightly) that the Ghetsis from the Ultra Gen. 7 games murdered his version of N.
Here's a Pokémon pun.
When Generation 2 Gengar uses curse, you could say he, NAILED IT!
Lol nice one XD
It was, at least in my opinion, poetic justice that the final pokemon that took down Ghetsis's final pokemon when everyone else was down, was the very pokemon his team had been built to take down and the one he believed meant nothing and doubted meant that his opponent would defeat him due to it being "just a pokemon"
Poetic
Freaking
Justice
Second only to when Emile beat Alakazam with Zangoose.
I’m here for the *_DENIS_*
StickMaster500 Its a good thing you didn't listen the usum version of this then.
I see your a man of culture as well
Why do I see you literally everywhere
It's ya boi, Dennis.
StickMaster500 *_D E N N I S_*
White version was my first pokemon game. Seeing chugga start a lets play of its sequel prompted me to go back and watch this one in preparation. And man. Seeing it all again brought back so many memories. And seeing the ending again, now able to understand it more clearly, Genuinely brought a tear to my eye.
I know we still have some post game to get through, but seeing this journey all over again through such a charismatic youtuber like you has singlehandedly renewed my faith in the series. Looking forward to seeing Black/White 2.
Iris: No need to worry!
Me: So this is why she replaced Daw, as Ash travelling companion in BW. Huh.
while I prefer the story in Sun and Moon, Black and White have easily the best finale. The only main pokemon game to properly wrap up a big story with the final battle
Scott Elder how could sun and moon story be better if it had trash like lillie and hau
Kano hau had little to no plot relevance and his character was just DUDE MASALADAS LMAOOO and lillie only stopped being a whiny idiot for the last 5 minutes of the game and im so glad she fucked off to kanto
I agree. I think Sun and Moon had the best developed characters out of every Pokèmon game.
Valak Dunban Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Fix Literally All Of The Problems You Listed
I’ve been watching for 8 years, almost half of my entire life.
Ghetsis has an illegal leveled Hydreigon at Lv54...
SSB&AnimeCrossover You can say that too about Lance's Dragonite's xd
The cool thing is that apparently it's a fan theory that his early-evolved Hydreigon has something to do with how he lost his eye
DestinyGaleAries Whoa...
DestinyGaleAries Woah...woah...woah...WOAH! WHOAWOAHWOAHWOAHWOAHWOAHWOAHWOAHWOAH!
Lord Fishron Pokémon Johto!
Fitting for a boss, fitting for the character that Ghetsis is.
The acting is beautiful and makes me feel like I'm in the moment. But it still just feels like one person since it's all from the same person.
Earthbound 2? I thought we established it was promised but never came
Chuggaaconroy could be a VA for Porky, N, Ghetsis...and Miror B.
Whoever says newer games are too easy is either an idiot or has never seen this fight before
mushroomdude123 ikr I ended up getting my whole team up to lvl 60 in victory road (I wasn’t the smartest back then) and my haxorus to lvl 68 to get guillotine and outrage and I could finally beat him the post game was a breeze after that though as my team was at a sufficient level already
ExpressedWolf0 Also, if you want to compare Reshiram and Zekrom, look at "Yu-Gi-Oh!"
Reshiram=Blue-Eyes White Dragon
Zekrom=Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
You're welcome.
J -Jizz Well spotted! I was once a Yu gi oh fan years back and never made that resemblence
J -Jizz you activated my Trap Card!
