It took her 20 minutes just to get Joe to understand that her point was simply that she hasn't seen evidence that she considers valid to make it a priority. I prefer the podcast approach to political discussions. If Kyle and Candace just sat down and talked through their points I'd say they'd get along fine. They'd disagree on most things but they would get their views across and people can decide who they agree with more.

In politics and religion I've found that the side that had actual evidence and logic behind them in a given debate(usually not the Republican or Young Earth Creationist, in my experience) faces nothing but rhetorical games, logical fallacies and misdirection.
