Happy new year, loving your videos. It was me that tapped you on the shoulder at the birthday bash. Looking forward to learning more and playing more keys!
Hi Nick, although it's a little late, I wish you a very happy and successful 2024! As a newby organ player I love your your vids. THIS video is pretty interesting showing the various sound one can achieve by using the draw-bars, BUT... what I'm really missing are some REAL close-up pics (showing the draw-bar numbers) of these draw-bar settings bc a picture tells more than 1000 words.Thanx from Germany
Thanks Nick, this is awesome! I would love to see this demo done with a Hammond SK Pro, which is my clone of choice. I am searching for a better amp-Leslie sound in my SK. Any tips are much appreciated! Btw I’m too old to drag a real Leslie to my gigs so I have to make do with the SK alone. I’m digging all your videos!
Two channels I follow interesect. The Real Music Observer just gave a shout out to the Atack CD in his video about Bruce Kulick and Grand Funk. It's not Rolling Stone mag but it's something.
Hi Nick New to your channel, I'm no great player, but dabble a bit. Always loved Hammond - Lord, Airey, Lanzon, Emerson et al - and had an old Hammond 30 years ago until it had to make way for kids. Since then I've had to make do with whatever organ settings were available on an inexpensive electronic keyboard. Used to use a Korg M1 and now use a Yamaha MX61. An H&K Rotosphere helps to get vaguely close to a Leslie and to add drive. My question: you did the Perfect Strangers riff. Do the 5th drawbars allow it to sound as it does just by playing octaves? With my inferior setup I have to play the 5th below the root on the right hand to get close. Thanks, and looking forward to going through your back catalogue of videos! Chris
@@nickfoleyuk Indeed, btw one question. Since I am a guitar player, and do not play keys bar chord arrangments, what drawbar settings would you recommend for organ sound, for example found in Wright`s Another Brick in the Wall?
Pictures of Home from Deep Purple the last 40 seconds, mainly the last 30 seconds of keyboard played by Lord. Would you show the setup and sound. Da da da ta da. Da da da da ta da . Some thing lake that. Thanks !
yeah I could do, its mainly fast 4ths in time with the drums isn't it? Lord was unique in that speed of repetition but if you have a dual manual you CAN cheat 🙂
Brilliant, thanks Nick!
Can’t wait to try these on my SKx Pro 😊
Thanks and happy New Year Nick🎉
Happy new year!
❤❤ Happy new year, Nick.
Thanks so much
Happy New Year!
Great video, very helpful. Thanks. I am just learned about these settings so I can learn some DP songs.
Great!
You can’t really get a bad sound no matter where the drawbars are. Amazing instrument and playing!
Thank you
Excente..!!!
I only have a humble Reface YC but it's still fun playing along 👍
Nothing wrong with that mate

Oh Hi mate, great to talk to you (shame it was so loud - I had my ear defenders in!). Thanks for getting in touch!

Happy new year from Mexico City...hi Nick
Hi mate
Nick, unfortunately your 8 stops look like 4s on the video.
@@WAGSU2BE poor angle right? Gonna work on that.

Sounds nice 🍺🍺
The C3? June 1960
How are you getting the smooth overdrive at seemingly low volume?

whats your go to portable hammond?
My portable Hammond is the XK-5
And how about the SK Pro vs HK 4? Which would you prefer?
@@jasoncuri113 SK4 for me out of those two

Yup. It came off!
Is it only me who can't stand 8000 00000 with percussion? So predictable.
