This live rendition of Ghosts is my favourite song from the Maida Vale videos. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but after reading Gabrielle's comment that the song is about agoraphobia and anxiety, the lyrics just seemed so fitting. I've had serious trouble with crowds of people and anxiety attacks in the past. Still do, but spacing out farther apart each year, it seems. I am exhilarated that I found this young woman's raw talent. She has all the potential a chart-topper needs.
This young woman has a captivating voice, she got a mention in the evening standard/metro as being like birdy, so I wanted to listen, and she doesn't disappoint. The voice alone is stunning, but the lyrics are also great. Good luck to her.
As thin as her voice sounds here, that powerful is her ability to compose and perform... I have some difficulty to describe the effect she has on me, but just a spark more and I am eternally in love I guess!
Gabrielle Aplin and Laura Marling are the best female musicians I've ever heard nowadays.This song, in the other words, is heavenly epic, melodic, soulful, even Kate Bush would sing like this.
I think Fern would loved Gabrielle's music. Birdy is awesome, has talent and potential but, she has nothing compared to this girl. Loved every song she has written so far. Well done Gaby for playing Maida Vale. :)
