    My husband and I spent two weeks just west of North Rustico Harbour and left early when we saw the storm coming. We kayaked the Stanley Bridge area and through the oyster farms at North Rustico. Stayed in a house on the bluff overlooking the lagoon and beach. Have seen some videos of the damage in those areas. 😢

    Thanks for the awesome footage. My family was in Summerside for multiple generations. I remember the kid traveling back every year from Denver. Heartbreaking to see the old area like that. Great grandma lived behind the City Hall building on Spring Street. My heart goes out to everyone on the island!

    I live in New London and there was lots of damage around us. We fared out very well on our property, lost a few shingles and a couple of branches. I slept through the night despite the upstairs vibrating from the winds. So glad that my family and friends here on the Island and in Nova Scotia made it through the storm with no major damage.

      Thank you boys so are we. We hope within a few weeks things look much better. However the Coastline will forever be changed. There’s so much destruction it’s hard to believe. So many trees down so much erosion from the island, just some thing we now have to deal with.

    Your timing is impeccable as I was wondering how you fared Fiona's fury. Thank you for taking us on your journey throughout Summerside and Kensington areas. It is heartbreaking to see so many mature trees lost and properties damaged. My family at the other end of the Island has survived with only some trees down. I still have not been able to talk to my aunt and uncle due to no cell service or power. So very relieved that there have been no fatalities reported on the Island. Good luck with your clean-up. I hope it doesn't become too costly. Looking forward to your next video. Stay well.

      Thank you Anne. Things are slowly being cleaned. People are getting power back slowly. We are lucky in Summerside as most of us have power. Others are not that lucky. Cell service has been spotty but I hope that is back soon.

    It's terrible what's happened to our island. I've lived here for 13 years now. We have fallen trees in front of, to the sides of, and behind our home, but we're one of the lucky ones who didn't have one fall on our home. We lost lots of shingles, trees, just terrible. Fiona certainly unleased her wrath on the Island. So sorry to see such devastation, but thankfully no loss of life. It must have been terrifying to experience. While I'm not as familiar with Summerside and environs as I am with the North Shore and N. Rustico and Cavendish where my in-laws live, I do recognize many landmarks there. It's a shame to see so many stately old trees damaged or destroyed, but it serves as a reminder that the height to which trees grow in any given place is usually a function of the frequency of hurricanes and other forces majeure. Glad you guys are okay. Thank you for posting this.

    For me, This was a much better video than what we got from the news media because you showed places I know and care about. So, so sad to see the beautiful trees gone. I cannot believe you dared cross the half-eroded causeway in Darnley!!!! The whole thing could have collapsed and you guy would have ended up in the bay. Twin Shores: Is your cottage the first building you show? Maybe I missed something somewhere, but last I heard you had bought a lot and were going to get a cottage built. Don’t know what happened after that + what happened to the RV? So sad to see PEI devastated like that. We left on Thursday evening, so we missed the whole show. 😓 Glad you and N. are safe and your house suffered only minor damage.

    • @CanadianLife2020
      @CanadianLife2020  2 роки тому

      Yes you are right we should have not crossed. Today it is not passable anymore. The cottage is the first one yeah and we just got it. The property is where the cottage is.
