MCBH Hale Koa Beach, Multi Turtle Encounter Jan 16th 2025

Was just about to head in from a little long fin practice/familiarization when I came across a sea turtle. So I swam with it for a bit trying to make eye contact and give it the shaka. Then just as I was leaving him I spotted a second sea turtle. I thought what a cool way to finish my swim, so I began to head back to shore when nature decided to WOW me. After heading back towards shore for a brief moment I ended up swimming right through a huge gathering of more sea turtles. The footage does not do it justice. Since the water became more murky as the turtles began to swim away and stir up the sand. The camera did not pick up all of them so well, especially the ones in the distance. Also, the camera is on the right side of my goggles, so when I would turn to the right, it would come up out of the water. There were even more turtles on that side. You still see a good amount of them when I look to my left. I had to stop to let some of them by, there were so many. Was a pretty awesome experience, doubt it will ever happen again.
