I still hope that we can get an answer from Sony as to why Bloodborne is forgotten and I think this 1 theory I have may be the reasons. 1. The Impact: Bloodborne had a huge impact on the PS4. Sure, God of War, Horizon, and Ghost of Tshusima were good but they never gotten that impact that Bloodborne had, which made Sony kinda jealous by that and tried make that impact.
Surely that will happen, and everyone will lose their minds! Imagine that on March 25 they release a trailer and it says "Available today for purchase"
If I'm being honest, when Elden Ring was being released and I didn't have a system to play it and couldn't get a PS5 at the time, I opted for a PS4 specifically for BB. I'm so glad I did.
There's a few aspects to this whole situation that make the cryptic approach seem a bit more reasonable. It's not all willing, for either Sony or FromSoft. - Firstly, yes, the rumor about Bloodborne being difficult to work with is very much reality. The game was originally slated for PS3 release and got moved to being a PS4 title midway through development. Anyone who's dug into it knows that the PS3 was an absolute pain to work with because of its unique architecture. The way it handles memory allocation is baffling. What this ended up meaning is that Bloodborne's code had to be ad hoc rebuilt to run on the more sane PS4 architecture, and is a bit of a mangled mess because of it. Anyone in the modding community can confirm what a disaster it is behind the scenes. -- That bit about Japan Studios is important here. The company itself no longer exists, but that does *not* mean that its legal holdings have disappeared. Their company still has a grip on the Bloodborne IP to some extent, and trying to work out licensing deals with companies that technically no longer exist is a hassle that can take years to resolve. There've been similar stories of this type in many other franchises. - Sony has a major vested interest in keeping Bloodborne fans watching for new announcements. They don't get what they want, but they keep coming back in the hopes of finally getting it, and end up interested in other titles along the way. It allows them to string people along to purchase consoles and games they otherwise probably wouldn't have, all while never really having to confirm or deny anything. - Miyazaki knows that people wildly misinterpret things he's said, and try to make gospel out of side commentary. He's aware of how careful he has to be in saying anything, and he knows that if he says "I want more Bloodborne" people will interpret it as "evil Sony won't even let Miyazaki make more Bloodborne." This could - likely *would* - substantively impact Sony's sales going forward for a while. That's the sort of thing that can land you in genuine legal trouble, and Sony is definitely bloodthirsty enough to go after him if they had reason to. This basically boils down to Bloodborne being unnecessarily difficult to actually port to anything new (both legally and functionally), and both Sony and FromSoft having significant reasons to not say anything too concrete for fear of the consequences if they do. Bloodborne is in a particularly difficult place, and I'm sure all parties involved would be happy to have milked the IP for all it's worth by now if it were reasonable to do so.
Eeh I kind of disagree with the First point. Since they have the source code, they could technically rebuild the game. It's already known that the game uses the same Engine as Dark souls 3 (found out by the modders that made the 60fps mod) which shouldn't make it impossible to port. I do not deny tho, yes it would be a bit of hard work to pull it off, but I think I can safely say that neither Sony nor FromSoftware lacks the Experience to do it. It comes all down to the question of money and time. The game definitely deserves it and IMHO it would sell insanely hard on pc. I still to this day have friends that switch to pc like 6 years ago and they still haven't forgotten bloodborne and still want to play it on pc
I feel sorry for myself... No ps4 nor ps5, bound to pc gaming with no Bloodborne pc version on the horizon... Woe is me! I worked and analysed Bloodborne soundtrack so much and yet I never played it. I do understand the situation (plight) though. We can only hope for a pc port and keep praying for it.
I got a PS4 to play it (and ressel after some time) Gonna say it's bad this game is not on PC. It's so abandoned that till today there's no 60fps patch for PS5

I am one of these fans. Patiently waiting and hoping for Bloodborne to return. Every single time there is any showcase I am hoping to hear something. Still waiting for that.
At this point I’m over playing Bloodbourne on PC. It’s clear Miyazaki is using our pain and suffering over a BB PC release to fuel his creativity for future projects. I’m not gonna give them another drop of emotional damage.
Hey pal, are you from stupid town or something? It's SONYS GAME. Miyazaki can't do sht even if he wanted to. He literally said in the Interview he has to problem with the idea of a pc port
Overdosed on so much Bloodbornium that I rented a friend's PS4 to play it for the first time in a decade. Oh boy, it was worth it. Some of the weapons have such amazing movesets. Ive been using Simon's Bowblade and Burial Blade for my first new playthrough
I literally bought my PS4 for bloodborne, but that was at launch. I think if there's a future for bloodborne it would be a new console seller like demon souls remake.
I always felt that Bloodborne had an unreleased DLC due to that one Amygdala in Yahar'gul Hidden Village that grabs you but doesn't teleport you anywhere. I mean, every other one that grabs you teleports you somewhere... why not that one? It just seems odd... so if they ever did do a remake, it would be cool to see them add things like an additional DLC after besides the Old Hunters. Maybe even some new NPCs or bosses at the very least. I wasn't a fan of the Demon Souls remake because it didn't really add much... it felt more like an expensive remaster... as opposed to a remake. I wouldn't want a Bloodborne Remake to be like the Demon Souls one.
At this point I don’t think it’s a question about if we’re gonna get bloodborne related content but when. Gaming industry is a money hungry business after all
I also thought the Bloodborne remake would be at the launch of the PS6. But there's a problem. If that's true, it will continue to be a PlayStation hostage and be exclusive and won't be available on PC
Issue with bb mods (and mods for fs games as a whole) is that they often don't work well together. And in cases where they don't if the mod maker themselves doesn't make a compatibility patch, then the end user will need to manually merge them. This factor is why I unfortunately don't see bb mods being as widely recognised as say, games with official modding support.
I think From should seriously consider getting the IP under their ownership. Probably the most money for the least amount of effort on Sony's part, that combo seems to be their ideal.
This has been the absolute best reasoning why there is no PC Port. Thanks for you deep dive and not-click-bait which many other videos with the same title!
Not porting Bloodborne after such huge demand is crazy enough but not allowing the director to literally talk about the game He himself produced is just on a whole another level of batshit insanity. Why the fuck does Sony hate one of their most successful and talked about game to this day?!!
Mate Sony Interactive Entertainment are not actually refusing to 'allow' Hidetaka Miyazaki to talk about Bloodborne merely a sequel or such concepts are the ones that are not for discussion nothing more
Guys just accept that Sony don't give the Slightest f**k about this game they would rather make knack 3 before bringing BB to PC or make a remaster, the sooner you get over that the better.
I've maintained for a while now that Sony is sitting on the title for a remake to be an exclusive with their next console. Personally, I imagine that after edging us for a decade and all the mystery/hype surrounding it, they KNOW it would generate absurd levels of hype and sales. Enough to not only sell the game really well, but to also sell their next console really well AND the associated Play Station Plus cards they'd sell, because people will want to play online. It just seems like the right move for them.
I'm of the belief that because of how odd Miyazaki's wording was there's hope for Bloodborne content a healthy amount of time after Elden Rings DLC drops. If Fromsoft is working with Sony we may get a sequel or some form of new take on Bloodborne, but if they're not involved Sony may just make a Remaster with a PC port added. Between how popular the Souls games have been getting from Elden Ring and Jacksepticeye using his channel to promote a voice for more Bloodborne content I highly don't we'll just be left dry without ever getting new content. It'll just be a while. We still gotta get through the Shadow of the Erdtree after all.
Kind of random, but Astro's Playroom, which was a launch title included on the ps5 specifically to show off the new controllers and such, has little bots cosplaying certain sony characters throughout. One of the first ones is Lady Maria from Bloodborne. They also used her as the first "hidden" bot in the lead-up to the new full-length Astro game.
@@monkaSisLife Are you talking about the picture of Astro's Playroom? What about my comment suggested I didn't see that? Just seeing that picture doesn't tell you any of what I said.
Bloodborne was the main reason I bought a PS5, as my main console in the XBox Series X. I didn’t regret it a single minute, and an currently on my 4th playthrough. Getting platinum was really a fun experience.
I'm in agreement that Sony is well aware of and implicitly not allowing the game to be forgotten by doing the bare minimum efforts whether by merchandise or tweets to remind of its existence. My speculation is that it may have originally been considered for minor improvements and revisions aimed more at the PS5 hardware but with poor sales, they changed gears to use it as bait for the next gen console. While we keep talking about throwing our money at it and begging for years collectively for a PC port, at the end of the day Sony doesn't want to give up a cent to a separate storefront for a title they know isn't being let go of by anyone. All companies want you to be locked in to their own storefronts and are willing to forgo any and every opportunity if they know they can frustrate you into buying their hardware and further pressuring you to buy more of their gaming library to justify that expense. To them, it's not like they're losing sales on the game any way as it sits like a corpse.
FromSoft is on the cusp of releasing their major expansion for their most selling game and are still getting asked about Bloodborne PC/Remaster/Remake. Let that sink it.
I completely switched from gaming on my PlayStation to PC. A big part of that decision was because of the Bloodborne situation (Seriously not even a patch?).
A Bloodborne announcement is not going to come at least until Armored Core 6 DLC is announced or released. This about it as a Sony business man. You have Bloodborne in your backpocket. Meanwhile, Elden Ring, Armored Core, and Shadow of the Erdtree, and other Souls-likes like Lies of P have been dominating the sales and marketing. Why would ever want to let Bloodborne get cannibalized during this period? You have to wait until the hype for those games passes-or else you end up like Horizon.
My vote is on that it's getting a remake like Demon Souls did, especially given how old Bloodborne is at this point and all the framerate issues it has by todays standards. If it does end up being a remake with higher framerate and sleek updated textures and all that I think it will take the game to an even higher level of regard.
I haven’t beat a single souls game but I still love them and their lore. As a PlayStation player I really hope you guys get the chance to experience this gem
I think a Bloodborne ps5 remaster might be announced/released March, 24, 2025 for the 10 years anniversary. With a pc version coming out anywhere from same day to two years after the ps5 remaster. My Copium is high I'm still optimistic for a pc port.
At this point Sony is throwing away money by not releasing BB on pc. The console it released on is an older model, so it’s not really incentivizing people to buy the console anymore, and if they released it on pc, I’m sure there are a LOT of people who would buy it.
With shadps4 getting the game booting on the PC, I'm hoping the game will be playable on the PC in a few years. There is that to look forward to at least.
If fromsoft wanted to buy bloodborne from playstation/Sony the entire bloodborne community would probably try to fund that purchase, that's how bad we want this
Difference being Ready At Dawn was still independent where they could be contracted to update The Order 1886 while Japan Studio alongside FromSoftware were too busy with their own projects to do so
I honestly hope BP doesnt do the remake just because they didnt show much respect for the original demon's souls and took a lot of different artistic liberties that were unnecessary
It was awful in terms of the artistic liberties that were taken. Completely changed the feel of the world. Don't get me wrong they did some good things too but it's just not FromSoftware anymore.
If there was some lost code, anything short of remaking the game from scratch would be extremely difficult, if not impossible. The Kingdom Hearts remakes faced a similar issue with KH1 being so old that Square-Enix couldn't find all the code for it and had to build things from scratch as a result.
They have all the tools to literally reverse engineer the lost code if they want. I doubt that any source code is lost as this usually gets put somewhere safe so Sony can touch it anytime they want
I guess the best way to get Bloodborne on PC is to annoy Sony about it.🤷 At some point they have to announce something or atleast make a statement about it of whats actually going on there.
I would recommend waiting for the 10 year anniversary of Bloodborne for a last chance of any major Bloodborne-related news to happen, which should be next year. After that, maybe its not worth coping for any reveals soon, don't you think?
i think a bloodborne 2 should come out before a bloodborne remaster or remake but it should have a pc port as well so ps players can still get new content and pc players can experience bloodborne and probably a better bloodborne.
As someone who hasn't owned a Sony console since ps3, I'd really like to experience the original BB first. Especially if the sequel ends up being closely tied to the first game.
@@MiSambra well from what we saw from sote fromsoft has truly evolved so it will probably be better than the original bloodborne in every way possible.
Bloodborne selling consoles would not in fact make sony money. Not directly anways. Consoles are loss leaders for microsoft and sony, it's just that the hardware facilitates locking you into the ecosystem and buying games at near or full price without compromise. So the justification isn't so much that they want people to buy consoles to make more profit, but that they want people to buy consoles so they can get them in the ecosystem to make more profit on each sale of a game. If they release a PC port they have to release some of the profits to their digital retailer [Steam GoG, EA or Epic] and as a result make a loss. The only thing that will change this mindset is if they release their own digital store for their in-house games, or if the only way to access it is via a subscription service [PS+ Premium]. Which they technically currently do via the PS+ Application on pc.
Considering Sony thought it was lucrative to do a Demons souls remake even though DeS isn’t even close to the popularity of Bloodborne, it would be very strange if we didn’t get a Bloodborne remake as well. I believe in the ps6 theory! But a BB2 without Fromsoft at the helm is nothing that interests me, but yeah of course I would check it out anyway! If it were impossible to do a remake because of lost code or the like I don’t think Sony would be as silent about it, why keep something like that a secret if that’s the case?
Let's be real: I'm not gonna buy a f*ckin PS6 just to play Bloodborne on it, as much as I love this game and you said so as well in the video; not many people would. They could be making WAY more money if they just ported it to PC or released the remake for the PC aswell as consoles.
lol, Demon Souls remake was the SOUL reason I jumped through hoops to buy a launch PS5, and it took me quite awhile to get. But outside of the exclusive souls/bloodborne games and God of war (bought before it was ported), my PS5 collects dust anymore. I've mostly switched to PC since. getting away from consoles inn general is my goal. (limited space in my setup, basically just room for one console/PC)
I got a PS 4 to play BB, it was free ( console was gifted from a family member, a 2nd hand PS4 is not expensive) and the game cost me $17. I would not pay $100 to play a remake or PC port. Surely the vast majority of people who really wanted to play this game would have done so already.
I just want a chance to play bro. I’m about to finish Dark Souls 3 and the Elden Ring DLC is dropping this week. I feel like it’ll never happen with Bloodbourne.
A remaster or remake will happen first to help push console sales and then after a few months a pc port and then based on sales they might do a sequel.
Me and my friends all bought a ps4 for bloodborne, I'm sure this isn't the most common but iw would definitely sell some consoles. The only way I would buy a ps6 is if bb came to it. Then I will have my 3rd generation of bloodborne boxes lol

Nah. It needs remake for the PS5
@@Lex_Nocturnano it doesn't.
Imagine how much money they would make if they made it 60FPS and release to all platforms, even Xbox!!!
I got a PS4 to play it (and ressel after some time)
Gonna say it's bad this game is not on PC. It's so abandoned that till today there's no 60fps patch for PS5
@@reflectcard6258 Sadly I can't afford to buy a console just for a single game. I guess I'll have to wait indefinitely for a pc port...
@@AntoniusTertius feel the same
@@kakka Pois é, tá osso... Viver no Brasil é como viver em um Souls.
Gosta de Hollow Knight também? Fiz arranjos de algumas músicas de Bloodborne e Hollow Knight para órgão, ficaram boas ;)
I honestly wouldn't even mind the money for a PS4 if they had any more decent games outside of Bloodborne and God of War. Yeah, I never cared about "overpraised zombie shooter" and "walmart great value Indiana Jones".
Oh boy, here we go again.
Overdosed on so much Bloodbornium that I rented a friend's PS4 to play it for the first time in a decade. Oh boy, it was worth it. Some of the weapons have such amazing movesets. Ive been using Simon's Bowblade and Burial Blade for my first new playthrough
Next year is 10th anniversary surely they releasing bloodborne on PC for that!
I literally bought my PS4 for bloodborne, but that was at launch. I think if there's a future for bloodborne it would be a new console seller like demon souls remake.
At this point, especially after ER, I would actually want Bloodborne 2 that is open world like ER on PC.
I've been playing through bloodborne again recently and it's so good.
I find it fucked up how Miyazaki, the man who made Bloodborne what it is with his and the other devs’ vision, doesn’t get a say in his own game.
And even worse, they'll probably butcher the artstyle and OST just like Demon's Souls.
@@JF-vz1ju agreed. bluepoint can't be trusted with original vision and art style in remakes.
There may be a possibility that sony finally releases the port or bloodborne remaster next year on its 10th anniversary
Bloodborne was one of the 20 PS4 hits you could play for free when the PS5 first came out.
You are the Most sane hunter I ever seen.
At this point, PS4 emulation is our own hope of playing Bloodborne without getting a PS4
Someone didn't watch the video till the end
@@monkaSisLife Are you talking about the picture of Astro's Playroom? What about my comment suggested I didn't see that? Just seeing that picture doesn't tell you any of what I said.
@xxloki713xx Sony said, the lady Maria "cosplay" does not mean there will be a new game in the future
@monkaSisLife ok, did I say it did mean that? I stated multiple facts, that is all.
@xxloki713xx don't play this game with me. You literally only brought those things up to hint at exactly this.
Bloodborne was the main reason I bought a PS5, as my main console in the XBox Series X. I didn’t regret it a single minute, and an currently on my 4th playthrough. Getting platinum was really a fun experience.
Bloodborne is about to be ported to PC for almost 10 years now
I'm in agreement that Sony is well aware of and implicitly not allowing the game to be forgotten by doing the bare minimum efforts whether by merchandise or tweets to remind of its existence.
Lots of Japan Studio members still work in different studios at Sony
I haven’t beat a single souls game but I still love them and their lore. As a PlayStation player I really hope you guys get the chance to experience this gem
My two favorite games of all time are Metroid prime 2 and bloodborne. Every year I wait for prime 4 and bloodborne 2 and every year I am left wanting.
I think a Bloodborne ps5 remaster might be announced/released March, 24, 2025 for the 10 years anniversary. With a pc version coming out anywhere from same day to two years after the ps5 remaster.
My Copium is high I'm still optimistic for a pc port.
i won’t hold my breath
The progress for emulation is going well.
I wish you were covering the dlc stuff. So excited to watch you again in a week.
Bloodborne on PC would be a massive success
I don't think we'll ever get BB2 or a remaster/remake of the original, Sony just seem to have discarded/forgotten it imo.
This is the exact kind of game Sony can launch on PS5 and PC and have people willingly sign up for a PSN account.
Shoutout your Elden ring group code. Some homies really been helping me out !
At this point Sony is throwing away money by not releasing BB on pc. The console it released on is an older model, so it’s not really incentivizing people to buy the console anymore, and if they released it on pc, I’m sure there are a LOT of people who would buy it.
I don't even know what a Bloodborne remake would look like, it's not like graphics have improved that much.
With shadps4 getting the game booting on the PC, I'm hoping the game will be playable on the PC in a few years. There is that to look forward to at least.
If fromsoft wanted to buy bloodborne from playstation/Sony the entire bloodborne community would probably try to fund that purchase, that's how bad we want this
Just my own personal theory? Bluepoint is working on both a Bloodborne remaster, AND a Bloodborne sequel(or maybe a Demon's Souls sequel?)
next year is its 10 year anniversary, hopefully we hear something about it then.
The absence of a pc port is not the most perplexing think.
The fact Bloodborne didnt get a performance patch for ps5, while the Order 1886 did, is.
Next year is Bloodborne's 10th anniversary. MAYBE there's a slight chance they'll do something with that???🤔
i think a bloodborne 2 should come out before a bloodborne remaster or remake but it should have a pc port as well so ps players can still get new content and pc players can experience bloodborne and probably a better bloodborne.
Speaking of games stuck on old hardware,
I want a new OTOGI
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined
I completely believe that I here saving for the PS6 because you mentioned the new references to the game. It feels like a hint .
We will never get a Portation of Bloodborne for the Personalized Computing platform
Bloodborne has such an interesting lore and world that it'd be a shame not to make a sequel.
I really think Sony lost the source code
Considering Sony thought it was lucrative to do a Demons souls remake even though DeS isn’t even close to the popularity of Bloodborne, it would be very strange if we didn’t get a Bloodborne remake as well. I believe in the ps6 theory! But a BB2 without Fromsoft at the helm is nothing that interests me, but yeah of course I would check it out anyway!
If it were impossible to do a remake because of lost code or the like I don’t think Sony would be as silent about it, why keep something like that a secret if that’s the case?
I needed bloodbourne on PC... I can't play games on controllers any more I need the mouse and keyboard
Sony CEO said they wont do a PC port until a squeal is in the works. Their standard way of doing things for other titles.
if it released on pc id be willing to pay the full 60 for it
Let's be real: I'm not gonna buy a f*ckin PS6 just to play Bloodborne on it, as much as I love this game and you said so as well in the video; not many people would.
At this point I'm happy with a 60fps patch, or a ps5 remaster
