What a great performance! I performed this serenade in school 50 years ago (viola) but never again and I had completely forgotten about it. I even forget who I played it with, it was so long ago. One of Beethoven's better efforts, IMO.
Beeindruckend, wie Menschen ihre Instrumente beherrschen können. Kaum einer von außerhalb kann auch nur ansatzweise ahnen, wie lange das braucht und wie viel Übung das erfordert. Herzlichen Dank für diese Aufnahme und meinen tiefst empfundenen Respekt!

Lebhafte und wunderschöne Aufführung dieser fein komponierten Serenade, die die helle Seite von Beethoven repräsentiert, im rhythmischen Tempo mit mildem doch gut phrasiertem Ton der Flöte, seidigem doch ebenso gut phrasiertem Ton der Violine und bezauberndem Ton der Bratsche. Die intime und perfekt entsprechende Miteinanderwirkung zwischen den drei Virtuosen ist wahrlich ergreifend. Faszinierend vom Anfang bis zum Ende!

Fabelhaft, marvellous, to me a real discovery of early Beethoven. And what a joy to watch the Niewöhners in a chamber music setting, otherwise often seen as good neighbors in their hrSO positions, she in first stand 2nd violins and him in first stand Bratschen.

Amazing! An early Beethoven only first two movements. The theme with variations an absolute highlight (reminds the 2nd movement of patetique) , plus the following final parts, not an easy thing to play in an ensemble. Oh, forgot to mention, the stormy 3rd moment, a pure delight, not an early Beethoven at all! Thank you for the wonderful rendition!

Eigentlich eine contradictio in adiekto, Beethoven mit dem biedermeierlichen „allerliebst“ zu charakterisieren. Hier scheint es aber erlaubt.
