The rift encounters were removed for the lore. Originally, the island was "unstable" so rifts and stuff kept on happening. Now after the time machine amazingness, the island is better.

Why does fornite keep removing things that make the game better like the animals, shakedowns, weather, rift events, and augments for no reason and thinking it’s a good idea?

It's usually because people complained about them. People hated augments when they were around, found rift events pointless, thought shakedowns were unnecessary/ getting in the way, weather was obstructive and animals?... They just existed.
Obviously I would love to have all these features, but sadly Epic has to do what everyone else wants, and at the time, that's what they said. Besides, there's only so much they can have in the game at one time because of memory and not wanting to over stuff the game.
i hope they bring back rift encounters. augments and other c4 features. especially weather. i loved that feature. they should have kept the c3 and c4 features. c5 feels so boring and dead. it doesn't even have a day night cycle like c4.

As an OG player who has played since the first week since battle roayle came out I can tell you with 100% certainty that they have nerfed the cake of the female skins. I'm disappointed that they did and its a crazy decision cause I know I would've bought tons more skins if we still had the old, much more pronounced cakes like we did back in the day. They really got rid of them for no reason other than to be more kid friendly but I still don't fully understnad that move.

Zero point stability is probably why we don't have rift events but that part of the story was left out of the commercial event.

They removed shakedowns cause tbh it was annoying when ur about a clutch then when u want to reload u shakedown so it was so annoying cause u couldn’t cancel

What i know is, to get car company licensing they to go through a stupid amount of contracts and meetings. Once they agree they have to look at what they are being put in. Now here comes the fun part. They dont want to be associated with violence (their cars bring destroyed) also thats a huge reason why real cars are not in GTA V and will not be in GTA VI. And seeing a Ferrari F1 driver with a Scar-H wouldn’t be the best reputation, especially being seen in Fortnite’s fanbase.
Shakedowns need to come back it's kinda still in the game in some creative games but it doesn't work correctly as it glitches
I know why they removed shakedowns, there are certain skins that look abusive (ie Ruby and Ikonik)

In the old (good) movement system, I was able to prolong my sprint speed by consistently spamming the slide button. With the new system, it's still possible but ten times harder.

I’ve wondered if Augments got deleted because the R-button was re-assigned to Match Quests. I know they don’t overlap use (Match Quest is selected when you land and you pick your first Augment a few mins into match) but maybe the coding kept messing up?????
