Also, this confrence didnt tell me anything new besides the chips. Anyone else had gemini 1.5pro access for like 2 months now? I had all these browser and google apps ai integrations on my end for many months too, it was so well integrated, I thought they were just silently releasing these tools. I realize they're saying "publicly" now, but I'm just curious if anyone else had access already.

Will AI solve the problem with google workspace being overcomplicated?
If only that was their only problem. They push their SEO algorithms telling you that you must make your website user friendly otherwise we won't rank you well, and yet don't make their own platforms user friendly. Not just google workspace.

It's funny that they are promoting that AI will replace engineers and inventors who are creative and smart enough to build something from dcratch. But that same AI magically cannot or will not replace dumb CEOs and executives/managers/directors who technically dont know anything except making bad and dumb decisions that most of the times ruin the business

The ‘beauty’ in Googles Ai the legitimate worry to empower users and established businesses and giving them the direction to follow. Contrary to companies like OpenAi, which looks desperate for power at any cost, even if it implies to cripple entire industries and through professionals in the limb of unemployment. That’s the way companies should proceed, carefully crafting tools to help people and companies, instead of, in an irresponsible and irrational way, throw a bunch of techs and see what will happen

A few years ago, all of this would have been unimaginable. They all are amazing things, but now, I fell no sense of awe or surprise. Blame OpenAI for setting the bar so high.

The model OpenAI comes up with is actually terrible compare to Gemini in benchmark. The only thing OpenAI did was release it first. They are not keeping up in term of accuracy. Google researchers are top notch by a long shot in AI you don’t really know what are they cooking up there.
@@super_hero2 My experience with Gemini was different. In my various use cases, GPT-4 seems more accurate. On the other hand, I think building something similar, even if it is slightly better, does not have the same surprise effect as releasing such innovations to the public first.
