Me too.. even though i got selected for states my parents didn't allow me to practice and they didn't even see my single match... but now this stains sticks in my mind and sometimes it hurts.. i don't want that 18K racket that time all i needed that time is a good coach and a court.. everything is about money some middle class can afford for that but they never allow their kids to play..
I am so lucky that I get all these rackets and other stuff and also my parents are supportive for whatever I want to do and I really feel tha every other parent should be like that

Of course Badminton is very very expensive game for a middle class boy to take this game as a profession. My son has to give up this game due to financial reason after playing for 5 long years since age 10 to age 15. He was playing U15 state level though. Academy Fees Coach Fees Tournament Entry Fees Travelling (every month need to travel outside state north, east and west of india) Lodging & Taxi Food, beverages (very high quality of food is required) Rackets, Shoes, Shuttles etc., Apart from that, someone need to travel with him for various tournaments all over the state and country. 6 Hours of practice, obviously need more rest, so no schools, cannot come good in studies. Certainly not a Middle Class Game for Sure.
