one time there was this guy who questioned every swordsman he met "Why the sword? why not any other weapon" and every single one of them answered "because its cool"
I really love how this video was put together. All the movies showing these battles, the stages the video went through, the well-chosen dialogue. Thank you for this :]
I was expecting a lot but not Adorea, the moment I saw the knight I thougt like wow, you know your stuff man. (Czech bias might be present in this comment)
AWESOME! I think it would have been only slightly better if it had that snippet from the movie "Heavy Metal" with Taarna when the narrator says, "To defend. This is the pact..."
It's all glory and fanfare until a weapon strikes home and the blood starts to pour, then it's horror and regret. I love media, fiction and nonfiction, weapons and warfare intrigue me to no end; but I will avoid the path of violence in my life at near any cost. By studying the history near and far of violence and my own experiences thereof I've learnt many lessons that people before me didn't learn until wrath and ruin had taken everything from them, I have many regrets and taking a life will not be one of them. Again this is why I love media as it allows us to explore the darkest parts of ourselves without visiting the true horror of reality unto others; denying the presence of that darkness doesn't make it go away and the consequences of repression often is, funny enough, more violence.
Top. Gostei bastante.
*The sword, the most glorified weapon in history.* With good reason too. I'm not complaining, I'd just like spears, halberds, pikes, flails, war picks, bows and arrows, and crossbows to be given a lot more attention in a swords and magic type settings for stories. *Swords were almost always a secondary weapon in history.*
Missed opportunity to not include Geralt of Riva when using Witcher music for the video. Especially when you consider that he's also one of the great swordfighters in fantasy.
Great video captured the romance that comes with sword coluture perfectly but all these clips don't showcase any of the more accurate Hollywood film duels. May I recommend the Deluge, The king, The Duelist. For historically accurate sword fighting in Hollywood films. However I
@@TomykoE could you make a part 2 about the effort of training that goes into the sword. Not a training montage (we have enough of those on the tube already). More like how this video captures the romance of the sword. For the second part make it about romance of the swordsman and the amount of effort duelists put into there craft. Maybe incorporate the movies I mentioned, and a little more cinematic fence youtube channels?

well the other weapons are cool too, it's just that swords are the most iconic
i love that you included the corridor jedi fight in this

you may not win in combat with a gun but at least you get the style points, which is still a kind of win

@@Jousten16 I wanted to include Geralt, witcher games and books are my favourite, but videogame mixed into this didn't looked good unfortunately.
