The scary thing is by how much Bottas was beating Massa last year. You really gotta wonder how drivers would stack up in different cars... How many points Williams lost by allowing Bottas to drive for Mercedes. I sure hope they got their money's worth out of that one cus Stroll sure has had moments but most of the time he's so far off Massa's pace...

Magnussen is a joke, a fluke driver. Only 19 points, while his team mate Grosjean has 28, doing far better.
Panther Yeah i dont like both Haas drivers but he did do better than Grosjean in this quali, so he deserved the nod.
I would actually prefer Kvyat & Wehrlein (if he doesnt stay at Sauber) at Haas

V-Bot's pole lap was quite tidy around the Middle Eastern Tilkedrome.
I think I miss the one shot qualifying. That on a "qualifying tyre" would be insane these days. This format has been going since 2006 successfully but I think I'm finding it kind of old now. Liberty are probably terrified to touch qualifying now though after that 2016 shambles. A shame - I miss the quickest man on Friday trying his best not to stay 20th...

The Legend 28 you know both drives different cars. Especially hartley porsche 919. So by your logic that means jimmy johnson or jeff gordon should win a race after 6 race driving f1 because they are experienced

Apart from the one qualy (US GP) he did not give it a try due to grid penalty, Hulkenberg out qualified his teammate in every single session. Nice job Nico.
Palmer was bad and Sainz is new. Nico and Sainz did pretty well in Mexico and Brasil.

Nah they already signed Kubica to a 2 year according to multiple sources, but Williams refuses to say anything. The Williams is a poor excuse for a car, and just has power on its side.

Deep Thinker If that’s true than Mercedes are being stupid, he manages to score points even in the shittiest cars.
DaSpaceJammer Toto Wolf told something like"we were backing him up, but Wehrlein should stand by himself". I also think Wehrlein is very talented, but Mercedes has too many options. Hamilton is locked for probably 4-5 more years, and Ricciardio wants to leave RB and race with Mercedes. 3 years later from now, they also can offer a very lucrative contract to Verstappen. Plus, there is Ocon too. So there are many options and I can understand that Mercedes sees not much use in Pascal. However personally I think he has to be given a chance in a decent car.
sad to see Hartley down in last . he should have taken the Ganassi indy ride and might actually be winning races next year . i know he is chasing his dream or whatever but red bull won't put up with last place qualifying for long. lets hope things pick up next year but Honda power might make that difficult

HAM schooled by BOT. A touch humiliating, considering the former is running the new spec powertrain. BOT needs to keep his head down and keep working hard as HAM's poor post-WDC-win momentum tends to carry well into the following season. I fully expect BOT to beat HAM next year. Whether it will be enough to earn BOT a WDC remains to be seen.

Last quali with the nbcsn staff , what a bummer, probably the best commentators I've ever listened to. No reason for them not to continue they could afford the rights to f1 Liberty simply wouldn't give it to them, instead Liberty is giving it t a generic British team with the generic broadcast and no man on the ground, its just terrible.

So sad that this is the last time we will see F1 cars with no ridiculous Halo. Hope that they decide against it in 2019. 2017 F1 got it so right with the looks of the cars and now ruining it in 2018... :(

7 different colours of tyres is utterly ridiculous. Just colour code them soft, medium and hard relative to each other within a weekend and if the softest one is a different compound in Monaco to Silverstone, who cares? The most important thing to the fans is to know that the red one's softer than the yellow one and you'll only get that recognition if it's the same three colour tyres on the cars each weekend.
