Yes he should stay till the first weekend in August and watch the biggest schoolboy rugby derby in the world. Paarl interschools,+25000 spectators at that game each year. Over 100 years of competing the average winning margin is less than 4 points.
Both Tim, do both! Come to South Africa Two Times, Twice! Bring your family, both times. There is more than enough for them to do while you "work".

As a South African my best moment of the year was taking my daughter into central Durban to photograph the victory bus, we were the only two white South Africans within a jubilant mass of a Zulu party. Over 500 images showing celebration by mostly unemployed South Africans. Then, 2 months later recording images of three homeless Zulu boys passing a rugby ball together in the middle of town. amaBokkebokke will be unbeatable if we can harness this!

Hey Tim, I can't begin to express how thankful I am for your videos. As an American, I never grew up around a strong rugby culture. I've always admired the sport, as it has a lot of parallels between my favorite sport growing up (NFL Football), but I never had a reason to get into rugby...
...until I met my wife and moved to South Africa.
Needless to say, over the last year, I've become obsessed. Your videos have been a great crash course. I feel like my rugby knowledge and fandom have grown so much, in no small part thanks to this channel.
Keep up the great work in 2024!

Tim, I would like to thank you for keeping me alive and motivated through 2023. watching your channel on UA-cam as well as listening to podcasts took from form 4/10 happy to 9/10 happy. I am a teacher and your passion for rugby inspired me and in turn, I communicated and inspired all my kids at school. It was truly amazing, they would hang on to every word and I believe together we brewed some future rugby fans! You're amazing and truly inspirational. Keep it up!

Well done on your year! I joined this team at the start of the World Cup and won't forget listening to your thoughts while in a camper van, sitting on the beach, sitting on the rocks, walking back to your camper van, and also just sitting in the stands in awe after the game, trying to comprehend what had just happened, particularly at Stade de France.
I feel like you lead by example with the way you present your unbiased and appreciative thoughts of the players and the games. With that, you are luring the quality commentary in the comments here and the try fan who at the end of the day, loves the games and will always respect the opponent and have a beer with them after. What a great year of rugby but sad that Ireland and France couldn't have won as well as I feel like their supporters had the wind taken out of them and hopefully not lost their passion for the game. It's not easy.
I really hope you can make it down to South Africa, particularly Cape Town. It's a magical place with so much to offer. You will no doubt have many South Africans you can rely for knowing where to go and what to do. It would be incredible to get your family down there too to enjoy everything from being in Cape Town on the beach with a beer, to a world class game drive up in Kruger National Park. If this is a reconnaissance mission for a future trip, I hope you get what you need from it.

As many of your followers Tim, a big thank you. Your content has reenergise my appreciation and appetite for all things rugby. When you go to South Africa, you will be pleasantly surprised at the crowd participation in international rugby. I went to Loftus Versfeld in 2018 for the Boks vs. AB’s, and as an expat kiwi who supports the Boks, was made to fell most welcome. Both before, during and post match. Hope this year continues in the same frame as the previous, making more people get back into supporting the game that offers as much off the field as on.
Love the Saffas. Great rugby nation, great fans and great decision the other day by your compassionate politicians.
