@@dapper18 pick up a book of Fiqh of Salah. In it there should be hadeeth about looking at the place of sajdah. I haven't memorised the hadeeth word for word so I don't know the exact wording. However it is a pretty well known concept since almost all of us practice it in prayer. The only time I don't look at the place of sajdah is when lifting up my index finger when in tashahhud when saying ash hadu an la ilaha I'll اللہ... until salam. And I look at my finger that time. This i do cuz I subscribe to the Shafi madhab.
