- The 2008 season was the first full NASCAR season with the Car of Tomorrow. Toyota would finally burst onto the scene, as Joe Gibbs Racing would switch to them, and their new driver Kyle Busch would win 8 races. Carl Edwards dominated throughout the season, but ultimately the championship would be won by Jimmie Joohnson, his third straight. I hope you enjoy the video, and remember to like, comment, and subscribe!

29:57 I remember watching this race as a kid, being a diehard stewert fan, i flipped out lol.
20:08 THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!
Ugh. I felt numb after this season. It’s not that I didn’t mind Jimmie Johnson winning the championship, it Jeff Gordon going winless and Dale Jarrett retiring after his worst season in NASCAR in 07, I still say Jarrett should’ve stayed Robert Yates Racing. Two of my favorites, one retiring and the other going winless.
oh yes, Regan Smith's first career win
Unfortunately, Regan Smith’s actual first win was in the 2011 Southern 500, the one in Talladega didn’t count because he passed Tony Stewart through the yellow line, and he got DQ’d because he did that.
@joshuascheffman7570 yes I'm aware. this was a joke.
Ryan Newman's win in the 2008 Daytona 500 was the first Dodge victory of 2008, and the 4th Dodge win in the Daytona 500.
And the first Daytona 500 win for Roger Penske as an owner.
The Birth of The Next Class of NASCAR (2000-2015) started with These Drivers:
1. Jimmie Johnson
2. Jeff Gordon
3. Tony Stewart
4. Joey Logano
5. Kevin Harvick
6. Kyle Busch
7. Kurt Busch
8. Ryan Newman
9. Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
10. Greg Biffle
regan smith won that race
Actually, Tony Stewart won the race in Talladega by technicality because per NASCAR rules, you can’t pass through the yellow line at the tri-oval. But if that rule didn’t exist, then yes Regan Smith would have won.
Stewart clearly forced Regan Smith below the line at Talladega. That call is still egregious to this day. 😡
As an Edwards fan when Jarrett retired this season was pain
Jeff Gordon’s first winless season since his rookie season, in 1993.
Don’t remind me
Every NASCAR Win in 2009 and 2010?
2009 when?
After my presentation this week; I’m gonna aim for one more IndyCar vid and then 2009
Edit: I can’t promise this - I realized exams are creeping up faster than I thought and I can’t promise a 40 clip video such as 2009
