Thank you so much for this exposition of the position of the Anglican Church in relation to Gaza and Palestine. As a South African I should like to remind you that the Anglican Church played a very prominent role ( Arch Bishop Tutu) internationally and locally to bring an end to apartheid. I am aghast at the silence of the Church when it comes to Israel and the genocide it is committing on defenceless civilians. It is beyond believe and goes against every christian grain in my being. It has shown up the leaders of the Christian Churches also worldwide not to be worthy of that name. But then of course the Church of England has always been the Church of Colonialism ,and of the Eton and Oxford establishment, more a cultural phenomena than a religion of conviction.and used as a front for subduing indigenous people whose land had been taken.( Does that ring a bell?) So there is a logic behind their support for Israel , a continuation of the exercise of Imperial power.
I'm also a South African and have been wondering how Desmond Tutu would have reacted to this! In fairness, the South African Anglicans have reacted far better than their overseas counterparts.

Not remotely it's not.
The morality of any action or support for that action relies on human perception. Perception is inherently subjective. That is why, when Israelis talk about moral justification for their massacre in Palestine, I have no doubt they believe they hold some sort of ‘moral high ground’. Many people outside of Israel support them on moral grounds. I personally see their action as morally indefensible and those who support them as immoral by the standards that I set. Morality is a uniquely human concept and has evolved and changed over century and culture. No one can define what another perceives as moral in any given situation.

Yes, Hebrew and Arabic root system. Lot of Arabic words are in the Bible. Some Hebrew Lexicon write Arabic words. Arabic words like Quran, Zakat, Hajj, Karem, Abdul, Jabbar, Ali, etc. are all Biblical Hebrew.

The Church of England, aka the Anglican Church, was started by Henry VIII as a middle finger to the Pope at the Vatican because the Pope, who went against Catholic dogma and granted him his first divorce, refused to grant him a second divorce. Need I say more?

The church wonders why Christianity is in decline globally. They claim to obey God and apply the teachings of Jesus yet offer no interest or sympathy for Jesus’s own people? People my age already struggle with the idea of worshipping a God that’s neither here nor there, whether we/they believe in God or not (I’m a believer who adores Christ but how am I meant to take faith seriously when not even the elders communicate the word properly). People don’t know what being a Christian is really about while the clergy continues isolating itself from the outside world. Also shocked and disappointed at the lack of effort put in by the British Royal family. Makes sense why the Church remains silent - can’t be out of step with the boss…

We should also be reminded that we are not to try to decipher the scriptures to predict the future if you are talking about the end of time it not for us to know as the hours will come like a thief in the night. To despair is human to reject evil is a must. What I want to say is what may come to past should not be an excuse to remain silent. I also do not believe in the remnant of modern times. I thought his treatment of Isaac Munther was atrocious. I am not a Christian but I thought it was highly hypocritical for someone who espoused Christian values to behave in such a way. His attitude was more akin to the corporate world he came from.
