    This is actually one of the few things I had down from the beginning. I wasn't able to practice football ever while I was living with my dad. It's the sport I always wanted to play. With no experience I left my dad eventually and went to try out for the new high school I was going to. I was confident I could make it. Baseball was the sport that I always believed anything can happen. I had a chance. I didn't make it. I made a deal with the coaches confident that I could make it. Knowing I had the most determination to get better. I would practice with the team and practice on the field when I had the time. But I would do all the booking for Varsity and JV. I new I could get good enough to make it. I was going to do whatever it takes. Online help. Personal help. Team help. I ended up making JV and was the starter for Right Fielder batting ninth. I went in with confidence. Ignorant but confident. Not making the team didn't shake the confidence. I worked anytime I could and got help anywhere I could. The coaches even saw my determination and have me private lessons for free. After practice was over the coaches would wait with me an hour and a half later working with me on baseball. On everything. I'm not done yet. Another year in high school next year. My goal is Varsity. It always was. Working after the season was over and I'm paying for a private coach to help me plus I'm using your videos to help with things that I can work on on my own. My free time is baseball time. I have a lot of catching up to do and I know I can make it. I can make varsity. I can make it in college. I will get to the major leagues no matter what it takes. I also have always tracked my own states. My OBP. My contact percentage. How many of my contact's make it in the field. How many of them are hits. How many balls I catch VS drop. How often I make good throws VS bad ones. Everything. I have always looked at everything I have done. I knew what my strengths and weaknesses were at the beginning. I can tell them to anyone who asks. I can tell you exactly how much I have improved. I even put pressure on myself all the time. I look for those situations. Where I'm either the game winner or game loser. I end up deciding the game. I imagine myself in that situation all the time.

    I started playing Baseball a Week ago. I´m 38 years old and have never hit a Baseball so far. I have played soccer and basketball all my life and therefore I have kind of a good feel for the ball in general. So I looked into UA-cam to get some tips ind info about the fundamentals of baseball and found your videos. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge of the game with an old german dude who knows nothing about the game. I think it will help me develop much faster and enjoy the game even more! Greetings from Germany. Jan

    I googled how to develop confidence at bat for my son who is just starting high school and has not played in a game in over a year due to covid. I came across this video and watched. I'm going to have my son watch it. I play tennis, and I have been struggling with my serve. All of the things you mentioned are going to help me with my serve!! It's all about confidence and mental toughness. Thanks!!

    I’ve really been needing this. I quit travel ball in 6th grade to play school and I felt that I was playing harder than everyone I was starting over a guy who was 2 years older, the next year was the same , this year I have been extremely inconsistent at the plate and it’s hurt me as a person I’ve been struggling in school because I’m so worried about tryna get a hit that when I’m bating I’m doing everything wrong I’m not using my hips or swinging fast enough so lately I decided to swing in the net for 2 hours every day and things are looking better and this vid has helped even more, thank you very much

I just really need to stay in the batters box, parents say I'm not going to stay in baseball if I don't stay in and drive the ball. Thanks man, this really helped.

    I’ve been struggling to get a hit in games. I’ve had 5 games and have either gotten walked or struck out and I haven’t gotten a hit. I can hit good in practice but not games. Do you have any tips?

    • @ketchican
      @ketchican 3 роки тому

      Me too. I think I'm 0-12 to start my summer ball season after about 5 games. I'm no longer thinking about the fact that I don't have a hit yet; instead I'm trying to focus on having confidence that I can do it, as well as focusing on hitting the ball hard.

  • @bigdog5105
    @bigdog5105 6 років тому

    So I get this may not help everyone but I used to step out (like big time) and the things coaches tried wouldn’t work until I had a coach he didn’t work on it just called time came up to me and told me to believe that I could hit. I don’t step out anymore I have CONFIDENCE that I can hit the ball and it’s a good tip when you’re out there watching the pitch just think about how you can hit off that guy. Works for me hope it works for other people to! And thanks coach for everything you do love your videos!

    Anyone have any tips for helping a U8 kid regain his comfort in the batters box after being hit by a pitch? I’ve got a good hitter that is thinking “get out of the way” as soon as the pitcher gets into his windup. How do I get him to think “I’m going to hit” instead?

    I help coach my little brothers 11-12 yr old team. We all know those players that aren't so coordinated/skilled. I pitch to the kids. I always find myself pitching fast to the kids I know will battle for solid hits and pitching slower to the kids I know have trouble. Is that fair? I just want all the kids to hit the ball

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  6 років тому +1

      That's a great question and it's a tough one. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. I totally see where you're coming from and wanting everyone to hit the ball. I also think in the long run it'll end up holding those less-skilled players back because when they get to the next level and the pitching is more difficult, they'll really struggle. You've also gotta remember that not everyone is destined to play this game at a high level. I think what you're doing is fine! Just keep it fun and help them out the best you can.

    Hey Coach Justin, I was watching a video for your Bat Speed Accelerator program and you kept mentioning about pinching your knees together. What do you mean by that?

    • @UltimateBaseballTraining
      @UltimateBaseballTraining  6 років тому

      I'll make a more in-depth video on this topic soon. Basically as your body rotates in the swing, your back knee is going to gain ground towards your front side and eventually as your front leg straightens, your knees will pinch together. This is the most powerful position a hitter can be in

    • @dylanchan3772
      @dylanchan3772 6 років тому

    I have a very serious question I am in 9th grade and I am wondering if that is too late to start baseball. Keep in mind I never played any tee ball or anything ever. I was always kind of intrigued by baseball but never acually got into it. Now that I am ready to play i am starting to think it's too late. Please tell me the 100% truth

    You have a lot of subscribers and you probably get a lot of comments from thousands of people. Tens of thousands. Do you have people who comment often enough and are distinct enough that you remember them much more than other people. People who you basically expect to see commenting. Not a baseball comment. Just a question that I thought about. I am a pretty curious guy sometimes.

    Im a pitcher and have been for my entire life. I pitch alot and i have a very strong arm for my age. I throw 80 and Im 14. Im 6'2 so I have always had an advantage but Ive recently begun having bicep trouble when throwing. Sometimes its in the nerves at the top of the short head of the bicep and sometimes its at the bottom of the short head of the bicep. I dont know what Im doing wrong. Thanks

      How do you throw? Do you have a sidearm throw? I used to and I got a lot of pain. Otherwise I don’t really know... Mabye ask a doctor... they know a lot more than me😂

    • @landonduplechin7590
      @landonduplechin7590 6 років тому

      lol well I could ask a doctor but Im looking for something I can work on now. I dont throw sidearm necessarily but I throw like a 3 quarter arm angle. Do you think that this would effect it?

    • @gabrielweighner7615
      @gabrielweighner7615 6 років тому

      IDk. I throw 3/4 too but I used to throw sidearm and my arm hurt but I don’t necessarily think that the pain was from that... I had a really long throw and my arm felt strange after that... Mabye make sure your shoulders and elbows are on the same plane. Idk Mabye just toss it until you are loose which is common sense but it might help
