I remember watching this... This is an important video for me! Thanks for making this back then! It's quite sad the crossing doesn't exist anymore, but the memories will never fade. I'll never forget this video!
I liked how the ambulance at the end waited all that time and then stopped where they needed to be. Also looking at the Coke vending machines, I wonder if there is a difference with USA and Japan Coke.
Had Japan been the size the of any of the top 7 countries in the world in terms of total land area, then it would had been term as an "Advanced Alien Civilization" on Earth. To recover from horrors of 2 Atomic bombs to this in just over 6-7 decades is simply unbelievable. A huge respect to Japan & it's people.

Thank you for a very enjoyable video. I appreciate that you didn't talk throughout the video like so many tend to do. I love all of the angles that you used. Well done!
Not to mention the horrible traffic jams it has been causing. But they are finally doing away with this crossing. You can see the newly-built fully grade separated track directly above.
This is what happens when a country spends its money on its country not giving it away to others. You get beautiful, amazing infrastructure like the one in the video.
Blue first car on opposite lane stopped before Gat started to close I mean it has enlightenment time to cross but didn't, that's the people responsibility to make our country great Love from India
The overhead wire is DC at only 1500V, so multiple pantographs are used to reduce the current per contact. Typically each pantograph supplies power to the vehicle it is on, and one or two adjacent vehicles. DC-powered locomotives are usually seen with both pantographs raised for the same reason. AC locos run with just one, even if they have two fitted.
Well like you said here in my country is the same, trash everywhere, i dont see the problem with graffiti. To me is worse when the goverment steall cityzens money and dont do anything to improve the city. To make it looks better. that is why people in the street is always bad humor. Angry. Sad. Love Japan wish one day could be there.
Graffiti is cancer. Not to be confused with murals and other street art works that do actually look good. But 99% of graffiti is just ugly tags spoiling private and public poperties without their owners' permission. I admire the Japanese for being able to get rid of such disgusting practice. I'm a train driver in Spain and most trains here are covered in nasty graffiti that makes passengers uneasy and reduces visibility in case of accident, as well as damaging the train's outer layers. It's a shame what a few spoiled kids can be up to. They even stop trains carrying passengers in order to perform their vandalism, and sometimes attack passengers directly. Fuck those bastards and their graffiti.
Infrastructure in Japan works great because its people are disciplined. They conform to expected behaviour and follow the rules. Build the same thing in other countries and watch people go around the barriers when its down. Get the idea?
This Is The First Train Video I Saw! Thank You For Reviving My Childhood! Also, I Noticed That This Video Was Uploaded Before The Japanese Tsunami, Is This Railway Still Around??
I was thinking the same thing, but found some of the tracks are bidirectional, and also they probably have a dual channel potentiometer on board to switch direction from a single slider.
Well done video! Nice to see different views! At 10:35, why did you not show the approaching ambulance? We have already seen much of the level crossing. This is something new and interesting. Why stop the recording and start it again? I would like to see how long from signal activation until the train arrives. Also, how long was the crossing closed due to TWO trains arriving? Unfortunate the the officers waiting for the ambulance did not lift the gates so that the ambulance coud pass.
Haneda Airport Line (A.K.A. Anamori-Inari Line) The 15th National Highway (Daiichi Keihin) crossing at Keikyu Kamata Station in Ota, Japan. A New elevated Station & track has been constructed over the 15th National Highway Crossing.

Very good congratulations ... train from Brazil greetings ... DUTRA
Two Questions: 1) How do they do the switching, to get the train going the other direction, on a single track? Is the turnout nearby, within 100 meters? 2) Why no Trains on the Elevated Line , directly above?
Japan seems to use all sorts of pantograph designs, seemingly indiscriminately. Cross-arm, diamond, Brecknell-Willis types all in service side by side. The number of strips seems like it would vary too. I have plausible explanations for the differences from Europe though. Tokyo traffic is extremely intense, so reducing the current per panto would reduce wear on the wire. Also, acceleration might be higher than is usual in Europe, requiring more power per vehicle.
If you look carefully you will see a pair of arrows that indicate the direction of the train, in the first, both arrows are lit. The precise timing to have the 2 trains come from other directions, very good.

Most crossings in Japan have an arrow sign that points the direction of the train.

Nice rail crossings show which way train is coming from. Wish we had that here in America.
