My only problem with this, and its on the book's end, is that I always assumed that most of these pack-animals weren't indigenous to Tatooine, the way that horses and camels were brought to Australia...
I would like you to make more about the biology of Star Wars. The creatures and drawings here are very unique. They can be found in the book: The Wildlife of Star Wars.

Rancors are also surprisingly intelligent and social creatures "the rancors of Dathomir at least were semi-sentient, caring creatures who mourned their family members when they died, and who passed on oral histories of the matriarchal herds into which these were organized."
Makes one pity Jabba's rancor all the more. That poor thing was kept in a dungeon and made to eat any unfortunate soul whom Jabba dumped into the pit. In the ROTJ novelization, Luke even notes that killing the rancor amounted to little more than putting a sick and abused animal out of its misery.
It's a really good vidéo, a good beginning. I Hope than will be many many épisode (the Star Wars universe is so Big). You can take all thing of the universe, canon or not (Legend universe). You know what, i Hope that you will make Season (more or less Big, i hope enormous) and every Season will be in a franchise universe of the pop culture (Jurassic Park/World, the James Cameron's Avatar universe, etc). Of course, we hope all that you will continue in parallèle the other series of the moment (like the biggest endangered animal), and that you will make many many episode for all your project and series. That you show all the things and the Travel around that de can and could see. Really, there are many other people who has alteady make video like you on the same subject, but you, you, you are different of the others. Really, we feel different when you show the things and when we watch your videos. You put emotion, feeling, narration (for my personnal point of view) but, more importantly, you put serious and passion. And that is formidable. Thus.
Tatooine used to be a jungle planet but was bombarded to what its now by an invader species . The wildlife and sentient species survive living under the surface and in caves until the planet recovers a bit
>easily domesticated when raised from the egg. Ugh they really need to start teaching the difference between "domestication" and "taming" in schools... An animal cannot be domesticated within a lifetime: its a permanent development more intensive than taming a wild animal: a "tame" animal may produce offspring that are impossible to keep or train whereas a domesticate will always result in offspring as docile as their parents (if not more...) (not your fault Anthony you didn't write it!)

Yes that's right, I haven't noticed it! But well, the animal is fictional so..
@ haha nobody notices, that's why I'm ranting lol. It's only semantics really but I find the distinction useful! I think it's partly because domestic non-domesticates are extremely uncommon: the main example that comes to mind is the use of elephants as labor in places like india. Despite their best efforts they never managed to domesticate so breeding populations have to be constantly supplanted with young elephants captured in the wild... ugh there i go again. Hope it's stimulating at least haha

Of course it's semantics but it is really important actually.. The way we use words or build a sentence show a lot about ourselves, and we can notice how much people don't really understand how nature works
You forgot 2 of Tatooine's most famous fauna: Jawas and Sand People! But otherwise great video. My favorites are either the Ronto or Eopie. Next SW planets you should do are Geonosis, Naboo, Hoth, Yavin 4, Zeffo and Dantooine please.
@@kateaveryavery1342 They are. If they were not they could not be catagorized as mammels or reptiles because they would not have evolved from a common ancester.
Oh please please do more. Lots of other good candidates with lots of reference material available. Naboo would prolly be the next best choice. EXTREMELY interesting wildlife and even a native race of amphibious sentients. Xenoecology series lets do it!!!!
What do all these large herbivores eat? I don't believe I've ever seen a plant on Tatooine. The picture with plants in this video stood out like a sore thumb and it was an arch somewhere in the Southwest.

Do they have plants to eat, or are they all photosynthetic?
You need chloroplasts to do photosynthesis (on earth anyway)
Evidently there's mosses and lichens that grow, as well as tubers below the ground
I hope they make tatoonie wildlife sound effects.
That Krayt Dragon looks just like a dinosaur!
I spotted the sandworm (krayt dragon) from Madolorian
