The Romans who popularized this phrase did not mean it in the way that no one messes with you when you have a big army, but that if you prepare for war and then go and crush whomever *might* attack you in the future, then you will have peace.
The thing about the two Thai assassins - the reason why he didn't kill them is because they didn't kill HIM when they could. Remember, they had TWO opportunities to just straight up kill him, but they didn't out of respect for him. And because they showed him that respect, he showed THEM equal respect by not killing them after the fight. They're two of the very few people that have fought John Wick and lived.
28:03 The two Indonesian actors that fight John are both martial artists that were in The Raid and The Raid 2. You guys should definitely check those movies out. Foreign language films but well worth a watch!
I heard they are so good at martial arts they had to slow their movements down so Keanu could keep up, because it was one of the last actions scenes they shot and he was tired, and he’s like a little older so he was tired. In real life those two guys are some of the deadliest and best martial artists in the world.
glad to see people recognized them cuz i was shouting in the hall when raid redemption guy showed up and at this point they both made my tickets worth it
You know what's crazy. Halle trained with the dogs so much the dogs listened to her directly. They only looked to her for directions not at the trainers off camera.
The last fight was an homage to a famous fight in a Hall of Mirrors in the Bruce Lee film "Enter the Dragon". It's been copied many, many times, but this is one of the best versions!
The part where you were saying he should change clothes makes sense, but then again think about his suit. It’s bulletproof and without it would he still be able to get by in a gun battle? There’s so many variations to keep knowledge of. A great movie!
Fun Fact: the really tall assassin, Boban Majanovic is 7’4” and when Wick breaks his neck over the book, they didn’t use special effects. Boban’s neck can just do that naturally.
I feel Winston has to be in on it they wouldn't have had that exchange in the building for no reason and Winston didn't shoot him in the head he knew John would be ok
@@FLStyle Yeah definitely. Didn't Marketa say in the first reaction she has seen all 3 ? In this reaction she reacted very surprised about a few things, so unless she's faking it, which I doubt, she definitely doesn't remember a single thing about a movie that's barely 4 years old.
Movies with the Ladies of the Normies is soooooooo cool!! Your reactions to the John Wick saga was everything!! I laughed so hard when I heard "please give him a gun"! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Till next time Ladies! 💜
Best part of watching this in the theaters....I literally walked from the theatre to my car and got a text message from "the continental" announcing John wick 4
The whole couch is excommunicado for thinking Mark Dacascos is Geroge Takei Also I love how they gave an in-universe explanation for why 50 year old Keanu Reeves was moving so slow in his fight against martial arts masters, Cecep Arif Rahman and Yayan Ruhian aka the beasts of The Raid and so many other martials arts films. Rewatching the movie I saw how telegraphed all his moves were throughout the film, but idc. It's John Wick, it's fun.
I watched the chapter 4 yesterday with my friends and THE ACTION SCENES FR SURPASSED CHAPTER 1,2, AND 3. IT WAS AWESOME AND WORTH TO WATCHED IT IN THE THEATER
Loved all 3 of these with Number 3 stepping it up. Saying that, JW4 takes it to a whole nother level. Mind blowing.... Probably thee bestest action, shooting up movie ever made... Not sure how you all are going to watch it but if you go to a Theater, IMAX is a must!!!!
24:04 - no, absolutely don't shoot the Adjudicator. That's like shooting the Russian Ambassador, in the Oval Office, while Vlad has two dozen ballistic subs off both coasts and a HUGE chip on his shoulder.
The gunshot in the pool at the hotel underwater where the bullet stops, that is actual real world physics. Firing a gun underwater, the bullet isn't gonna make it much further than 5 or 6 feet. the expanding and collapsing bubbles behind it are also very realistic. Either they shot that bullet for real underwater, or they did a bunch and composited/CGI it in. Either way, ONLY time I've ever seen that shown right in a film. Damn this movie goes hard. It's so freaking good.
Who's who: 1. The High Table is made up of the leaders of 12 high-profile crime syndicates, which are led by "families". 2. The High Table is the ruling body of the underworld, there is one man whose own authority actually supersedes it. Known only as the Elder is the Moroccan guy out in the desert. 20:18 3. The “messenger” 24:05 we all thought was just a messenger is actually “The Adjudicator”. It’s the name bestowed upon the High Table's primary enforcer. They have the power to determine the fate of anyone who crosses the organization - even members of the Table themselves. What this all means is that, with the exception of the Elder, the Adjudicator is arguably the most powerful person in the underworld's political system.
Winston purposely didn't kill John wick. If you noticed he made John wick step to the side where he could break his fall. The bulletproof suit actually helped him as well
There is not a single person on this planet who has seen the eyeball scene and not squirmed in their seat (seeing everyone's reaction was the best part of watching it at the theater). Winston knows John is wearing a bullet resistant suit. Will leave it at that. The pair that John fought at the end are on the choreography team and have done other amazing movies besides (The Raid Redemption, for instance). Having them in the movie and everyone showing respect for each other was a shout out to them.
Mark Dacascos chairman on Iron Chef America also known for movies like Only the Strong, Cradle 2 the Grave, Double Dragon based off of an arcade game turned animated series, and 1998 TV series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven based on the comics and live action movies.
John Wick 1 = New York, United States Continental (North America) John Wick 2 = Rome, Italy Continental (Europe) John Wick 3 = Casablanca, Morocco Continental (Africa) [Spoilers below.] John Wick 4 = Tokyo, Japan Continental (Asia) They are international. I wonder what the South American and Australian Continentals would be, since they are per continent.
I don’t remember how many times I’ve seen this movie, but I still keep finding references to other movies. The “Guns, lots of guns” was directly from the Matrix movies. Also, when John arrives in Casablanca, the man who rescues him says “Welcome to Casablanca, Mr. Wick” is a reference to the main character in the Humphrey Bogart film “ Casablanca “, whose name is Rick, but most of the characters call him “Mr Rick”.
I hope you guys do part 4. I've enjoyed rewatching this with you guys in preparation for part 4 ugh. Your reactions to the gore lol has been hilarious not gonna lie but also same.
Please stop and think about the John/Winston relationship at the end. John DID NOT kill Winston and TOLD the Adjudicator that he was not going to which was the only way John could win his life back. Now the High Table is going to kill John John and Winston worked this out so John is "dead" and the High Table is no longer looking for him. If you watch at the end Lance Riddick says to Winston after John gets fake "killed" "well played Sir, well played". I was all a show but they went too far as no human alive could have survived that fall. 😄
apparently the reason people don't care about the killing is the same reason there is no police showing up anywhere and don't arrest any assassin like in the first movie when some policeman showed up to john's house and didn't do anything, it's a universe where assassins are a normal thing and the high table has too much influence in the governments around the world that they didn't do anything about it
Apparently, during the scene in Casablanca, they had to digitally straighten the dogs' tails because they were wagging them so much, they were having so much fun!
"just give him a gun!" hahahahaha! The Raid 1 and 2 would be a good reaction, after seeing these films you would know why Keannu Reeves wanted those guys on his film.
The bold head fela's name is Mark Dicascos and his movie from 90s name is crying free man and he was also in cradle to the grave with jet li and he replaced Brandon Lee in the movie the crow for he's last incomlete scene after he died
Idk when y'all are gonna watch chapter 4 but it is a non stop action scene for like an hour straight lol it's honestly so good I watched it super late at night and it kept me up and in it the entire time.
begging "Please give him a gun!" because the kills are way less brutal with the gun is so funny when you think about how maybe people in that universe might be wishing the same thing.
Don't know how "in on it" Winston was, but I think he at least wanted to give John a chance to survive by shooting his armored suit. A gamble, yes, because he still fell off a several-story building. But at least that way he had a chance.
Fun fact: The Doctor in John Wick is the same guy who played Keymaker in The Matrix :) Also 4 guys John fighting at the end are from movie Raid:Redemption, check it out :)
More John Wick uncuts and Rocky series is on Patreon! Check it out :)
The director literally called the knife throwing fight a “Snowball fight”.
That's hilarious man. That director has good sense of humour. 😂
I too like to end my snowball fights with a knife in the eye.
I mean his name is literally Chad 😂
What else would you expect from a movie directed by a veteran stuntman? 😂
So trying to stab, slice each other is like a pillow fight.
"What do you need?"
"Guns, lots of guns" -Neo, The Matrix....also John Wick, John Wick
The "Doctor" Is the Same Actor Who played " The Keymaker" In the Matrix , he does a lot of the same mannerisms in both
And he also gives the voice to Oogway in Kung Fu Panda along with Ian McShane who gives the voice to Tai Lung.
I knew he looked familiar
YES!!
Parabellum is a Latin word meaning "Prepare For War."
I went to see JOHN WICK 4 with my dad last week and it's pretty awesome!
Just watched it with my dad on thursday. it was amazing!!! might be one of the best series ever imo
"If you want peace, prepare for war."

This reaction was hilarious. Navi yelling, "just give him a gun" had me dying.
The last fight was an homage to a famous fight in a Hall of Mirrors in the Bruce Lee film "Enter the Dragon". It's been copied many, many times, but this is one of the best versions!
I wondered where that trope came from. Every time I see it I'm like "Ladies and gentlemen, your mirror room scene of the evening!"
I love how the kills got to the point where they were just yelling "give him a gun"
Sofia and her dogs deserve their own in-universe movie. Halle Berry could definitely pull it off.
The doctor that helped Wick sow his wound, was the key maker in the “Matrix 2”.
LMAO. The moment when Rana cracks her knuckles and John is breaking Ernest's hand 😂
"Please give him a gun." Only in John Wick would anyone say that.😂
If you thought this one made you anxious just wait until Chapter 4! It outdoes all 3 combined!! Just make sure to watch the post credits scene!!😂
Best post discussion. You guys are bickering like you've been Wick fans for decades. I LOVE it.
The woman John Wick is talking to in the theater is actress Anjelica Huston(Morticia Addams of the Addams Family movies in the early 90's)!!!!

28:00 It's crazy that Keanu Reeves was running a high fever for this scene. But he still managed and agreed to be thrown through that much glass.
27:35 "This is the most intense film." Oh, just wait until they see John Wick 4. Lol.
I feel Winston has to be in on it they wouldn't have had that exchange in the building for no reason and Winston didn't shoot him in the head he knew John would be ok
Could be that John Wick exists within the Matrix. But that's just a theory. A FILM THEORY.
If he planned for John Wick to survive a fall from that height then he must have smoked something while waiting in the bunker.
I loved The Matrix reference. "Guns. Lots of guns."

John wick 5- He Resurrected

John Wick 4 was and epic ass finale. R.I.P. Lance Reddick, a week before the movie came out!
