Yes , here in Israel we are going to too many levayot. The pain we go through for each beautiful soldier killed in this war of survival for the Jewish people is of a magnitude none of us have ever felt before. Our hearts are constantly heavy. These boys paid the ultimate price for us. Believe me when I say we here in Israel pray for Mashiach and are trying to step up our game in terms of maasim tovim and mitzvot. As for the hostages, it is unbearable to think about their situation and their families. We are surrounded daily by so much pain. The Mashiach is ready to come but are we ready for the mashiach?

I.B. Singer wrote that after WWI his town in Poland was totally devastated as was much of Europe. The people went to the town rabbi and asked, "Isn't this a good time for the Moshiach to come?" and without hesitation the rabbi answered "There is no better time. I can feel his presence now and he will be here very soon" That was 1919. Oh and The Rebbe is dead and buried in Queens New York since 1994.
The Moshiach will only be known during the advancement of science and knowledge, because earlier he could not prove himself, because his deciphering of the universe requires your knowledge to be able to understand his words, so it was not possible in the world war.
Every generation has their avodah in bringing Moshiach. They had theirs, we have ours, so let's get to work. The Rebbe left incredible Torah to help guide us during this double darkness. I highly recommend you check out Rabbi Reuven Wolfe who delves into these texts. Interestingly, Rabbi Wolfe's subscribership has exploded in the last month, going from 1,500 subscribers to 10,000. To say that the world (not just Yidden) is waking up and awaiting Moshiach with fervor is an understatement. We have to be a light to the Nations and set an example. Forget the sfekos, and past disappointments. There isn't much time left -- we must make the most of it!

I know it’s hard with everything going on in this world today. This is how it supposed to be leading up to Mochiach’s arrival that we will see very dark times that are like the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Because the question has been asked will he find faith on the earth when he arrives? So what you wrote only helps validate what I already knew and that is we are the generation that will not pass away before everything is fulfilled. We just have to be patience and hold on to HaShem because there is coming a day that HaShem himself will wipe away are tears and there will be no more pain and suffering and the love ones we have lost and missed we will be with again forever we just need to get through all of this so we are ready for everything that HaShem has wanted for us from beginning.

Yes it's time
We truly are living through incredible times. I find it extremely exciting to see what HaShem is doing among all his people, he's drawing us back to unity, to Israel, to him. There is pain, there is trauma, there is immense and perverse brutality. In many ways, it's only just beginning, many in the nations are being blinded and turned against us. But from the pains of birth, the greatest joy will come. Moshiach now!
And lets keep in mind, there are immense challenges ahead, the world will turn on us. The current war may well bog us down, we may well do many things to try and hasten the coming of the Moshiach, but we will be given to failure and be disheartened. But in the end, when we have no where and no one to turn to, then we will see his return. And we are seeing the stage being set.
The curious thing to me, is 5784...we are literally nearing the sunset of the 6th day (6000 years), then, shabaat and for that day, despite the pain and challenges for HaShem's people, I cannot wait! And we truly don't know the exact date, but things are definitely drawing so near, so near.
Nations of the world should adhere to 7 Laws of Noah, that were given to Moses by G-D on the mount Sinai together with the 10 commandments for the Jews according to Judaism. G-D wants that non-Jews choose to adhere to 7 Laws for them in order to live in peace and harmony with Jewish people.

I'm not jewish or religious for that matter. Your podcast turned up on my feed and I thought to tune in and listen as I love learning about differing perspectives and stories, cultures etc. Maya, your story is very touching. I thought I may add something from my own experience. In "heaven" everyone will need to leave their luggage at the door before entering. When I say luggage, I mean all your religiosity, heritage, jewishness, christianity, Buddhism, islam, nationality, political perspective, beliefs..etc etc. Heaven or the universe has no sides, therefore it cannot take sides. It is a container for the ALL. Pure, undefiled and un-conditioned. Therefore for any Messiah to arise, that ONE would have to have all those qualities inherent. I'd say that the messiah is playing cat and mouse, masquerading as your awareness of being perceiving itself to be a character/persona on this earthly plane. Why look outside for a saviour, if the messiah is waiting for one to turn their attention inwards? Gods name for eternity is "I am", not "He is" because he is implies separation from the all. The last hurdle any messiah will face is the blasphemous one, to dare say that peace, truth, love, acceptance, humility is within. It is a state of being. All I can say that it starts with YOU, NOW! There is no waiting....

As to Mashiach/ Moshiach (look to the root meaning of both, two slightly different meanings, but both fit). I also believe He is coming, but it will be the worst times ever before He is coming, and also HaShem adversary will try to trick people into thinking he is Moshiach, but he will be known on that as HaShem has Torah/Laws, the adversary will be of lawlessness, he will not abide to any Law of Hashem, or will use them as he pleases but not with any rightousness, and it will be in the coming times as the Maccabees experienced (I'm not saying to scare, just so you can prepare), things will get tough, so tough that the hearts of man will fail them.
It's very important to learn and remember what it says in Tanach as to remember the Torah and Nevi'im at that time, and most of all to remain able to make selichot and teshuva and to hold on to Hashems Ahava and emunah in Him, and to fear Him more than man, at all times. It will not be easy, as Hashem wants us to quickly make selichot without revenge when we are done wrong. Hence to why Yom Kippur is the most important day of the year.
And I know that selichot can be hard when people have stolen years of ones life, or when loss of a loved one, I'm still working on getting through.
The Mashiach suitcase is nice for hard times when needing to flee, but when He is coming, we don't know if we even will have time to change, neither will we bring any of our garments or things with us...think of Eliyahu when he was changed in a moment, so fast that when it happened Elisha only reached to see him in a fiery chariot
pulled by fiery horses, and went up in a whirlwind. His garments remained on earth.
I think what Elohim/ Hashem will look for the most, is if He still finds emunah in people, no matter if we have reached to change or not.
Afterall, when He comes, will we know just the day or hour? Will we have time to change our clothes for Him? Will it matter, as long as He finds us worthy to go with Him?

I think our problem is that we have forgotten that Eliyahu must come first. Israel rejected David for 7 years and it wasn't easy for him to be accepted by Am Israel. The same will happen to Moshiach?
43:00 Maya, what bothered me a lot when you posted that is you posted it in a way that _implied_ that that nevuah is a proof that this war will lead to Moshiach really really soon. (Even if that wasn't your intention.) And it's a scary thing for people to be led in believing that Moshiach is certainly coming really really soon or that something specific will be leading to Moshiach, because at the end of the day, we don't know exactly what these prophecies mean, and if Moshiach chas v'shalom doesn't end up coming as soon as people were led to believe it would, there's a risk of them losing their faith that Moshiach is coming at all.
So we need to be very careful of the way in which we share things like the above, in order to not accidentally lead people to think that something is a proof that Moshiach is coming within a certain timeframe or will shortly follow a certain event.
I understand the concern, but on the other hand, we also need to be careful about being too careful. Yidden are so careful that they sidestep any conversation about Moshiach. It's time to flood our awareness with Moshiach discourse, in whatever form. I think it's worth the risk, and rely on the strength of the Am Yisroel to regulate and overcome disappointment.

If the scary part of Moshiach is 'fear of the unknown' then simply learn the parts of Torah about Moshiach. Then it won't be 'unkown' anymore.

Moshiach is foretold within scripture to come to us in different manners (riding a donkey's colt and coming on a cloud) and would come in differing time periods (at a set schedule and when unexpected.) Moreover, scriptures say that Moshiach can be either someone alive or someone who has passed away and comes back...The early Jewish sages addressed these "contradictions" by concluding there must be two messiahs. But this conclusion was erroneous. What the sages were actually seeing within scripture are the two separate and distinct comings of the messiah. Yes, God's Word tells us Moshiach would be born into our world and then be "cut-off" from the land of the living and then come again. So, who could this Messiah "who already came" be? And what is His name? Surely, you know!!!
"Who has ascended to heaven and come down? Who has gathered the wind in his fists? Who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name? Surely you know!" (Proverbs 30:4)

I also met HaShem.... again... when He "visited" me when I was sick, spending 70% of my life on my back, for 5 years. In the 3rd year of those 5, in 1990 (5750), He "visited" me.

There's a possibility (meaning we don't know any details about Moshiach for certain, including this one) that just like by Yetzias Mitzrayim only one fifth of Klal Yisroel survived and left Mitzrayim, something like that might happen when Moshiach comes as well.
And I heard the following separate from the above, but I'm guessing they're related: That the last battle will be with Emunah, which is actually a huge huge issue these days because nowadays it's not just teens and young adults who are struggling with their faith, but it has become very prevalent amongst grown adults as well. With the internet and social media, there is so much noise and opinions that get in the way of our certainty regarding a Jew's foundational beliefs (the Ani Ma'amins), that the issue is now much deeper than what it's been until now, which was teens just being angry at Hashem. Now frum Jews, young and old, are influenced and even told by secular people to question the beliefs that deep down their neshamos know with clarity are true. And it's really that so many are Jews are losing their Emunah.
My point of writing this is that I want to say that what I'm scared about and what's been bothering me since I've heard the above two things, is what if G-d forbid a loved one doesn't "make it" due to not believing? What will happen then? Will we care? Will we miss our loved one? That's what really frightens me about Moshiach.
But overall, I'm really hoping and I daven as hard as I can that Moshiach will come soon. I can't wait for Moshiach! We need him!

No harm to express your faith. God loves you. God loves Israel and still will fill all the Abrahamic Covenant of land, seed and blessing.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe promised that every single Jew (even those that don't know they're Jewish) will be redeemed (as opposed to the first geulah from Mitzrayim). It's not dependent on a person's emunah (or anything else for that matter). No need to be scared about this. Wishing you all the best.

Just imagine how surprised people will be to fall for the False Messiah while the real one is experiencing greater awakening and ascension.
You cannot choose who Hashem is, neither can you choose who Moshiach is, nor when He comes, nor what He does. So how do we know all these things? Read the whole tanakh. If He isn't there, and His coming isn't there, and His doing isn't there, then burn the tanakh cause all such details are there. If such details in tanakh aren't fulfilled as listed therein, then burn the tanakh. So, what did tanakh state about Hashem and His Moshiach?
1) Hashem is God, Moshiach is His Son in Psalms.
2) Moshiach is Eternal God in Micah, Son of Man in Daniel, Star and Sceptre out of Jacob and Israel in Torah
3) Moshiach is Suffering Servant who is payment for our sin in Isaiah.
4) Moshiach will die in Daniel and psalms,and rise again from the dead in Isaiah and psalms. All this before destruction of temple in Daniel.

The Hebrew scriptures suggest that we can calculate the arrival of Mashiach to the exact date.
“Know therefore and understand, that FROM THE GOING FORTH OF THE COMMANDMENT TO RESTORE AND TO BUILD JERUSALEM UNTO THE MESSIAH THE PRINCE SHALL BE SEVEN WEEKS, AND THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS:: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself:” (Daniel 9::25-26)
Well, this shouldn’t be hard to figure out. Messiah will come at a set date after a decree to rebuild Jerusalem (after its destruction by the Babylonians) including the streets and the wall. So, if we knew the date of the decree and the number of days to follow before the arrival of Messiah, we could know the exact date the Messiah would come.
Well, we DO know the exact date the decree to rebuild Jerusalem, including its streets and walls (not only the Temple) was issued. The Book of Nehemiah mentions precisely when this decree was issued.
Artaxerxes was king of Persia from c. 464 to c. 425 BC. The explicit edict Artaxerxes to rebuild Jerusalem, including its streets and wall was issued to Nehemiah in 444 BC. (see Nehemiah 2:1-8) This is the ONLY known decree that included the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s infrastructure. Although no day-of-month specified, according to the Jewish custom of the time, the date is to be understood as the first day of the month, which would be Nisan 1, 444 BC. Translating this date, Nisan 1, 444 BC. to a more familiar term within our modern Gregorian calendar, we can determine it to be March 5, 444B.C.
Ok. We are making progress. We now have the date that the decree to rebuild Jerusalem was issued - March 5, 444 B.C. But can we know how many days afterwards before Messiah would arrive? Yes. Without question. Within Ancient Hebrew, the term “week” can either mean a period of seven days or seven years. The text within the Daniel prophecy clearly indicates that the term be understood as “weeks of years”. A score of years equals twenty. Threescore equals sixty. Therefore, Daniel tells us to expect Mashiach exactly in 69 weeks after the decree to rebuild Jerusalem. And we can now calculate exactly how long SEVEN WEEKS, AND THREESCORE AND TWO WEEKS is:
SEVEN WEEKS (49 years) + THREESORE WEEKS (420 years) + TWO WEEKS (14 YEARS)= 483 YEARS.
So, we now know Messiah would come exactly 483 years after decree issued to rebuild Jerusalem. Now let’s convert 483 years to its corresponding number of days using the Jewish lunar calendar (God’s prophetic calendar) where a year equals 360 days.
483 X 360 =173,880
And we now know many days after the decree to rebuild Jerusalem, Messiah should be expected to arrive - 173,880 days.
Now, if we want to know the exact date that Messiah is due to come, all we need to do is add 173,880 days to March 5, 444 B.C. After doing this, we will know the date of Messiah’s arrival. But we’ll have to use God’s clock, however. God uses the celestial bodies within the Heavens as His clock. And specifically tells us they are to be used for signs, seasons, days, and years.
“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” (Genesis 1:14)
Therefore, to God a day is not exactly 24hours and a year is not 365 days as we know it. Days are a teeny bit longer than 24 hours and a year equals 365.2422 solar days. (God doesn’t do leap year as in the modern Gregorian calendar or leap month (Adar Aleph) as within the Jewish calendar. God doesn't mind working with the fractions.) So, we’ll need to convert Nehemiah’s prophetic years (483 years or 173,880 days) into solar (or tropical) years:
173,880 ÷ 365.2422 = 476.068 years which equals 476 solar years and 25 days.
Now we know. Mashiach will come exactly 476 years and 25 days after the decree to rebuild Jerusalem was issued on March 5, 444 B.C. So, what day does that take us to?
March 30, 33 A.D.
This is the exact date that God told us through His prophet Daniel to expect the arrival of the Messiah. Did anyone show-up on this date? The prophet Zechariah tells us to expect the Messiah to arrive in Jerusalem riding a donkey’s colt.
“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.” (Zechariah 9:9)
So, did anyone show-up on March 30th 33A.D. riding a donkey’s colt? Let’s look at an abbreviated chronology of the last few days of Jesus of Nazareth’s life as recorded in four eye-witness accounts:
March 29th 33 A.D. - Jesus Travels to Bethany
March 30, 33 A.D. - Jesus makes His Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem while riding a donkey’s colt.
April 3, 33 A.D. - Jesus is arrested and has First Trial for blasphemy. Found guilty. Deserving of Death. A Second Trial is conducted (as required for death sentences.)Jesus is brought before the Romans and accused of treason. Jesus is tortured in public Jesus is mocked and watched Jesus is crucified and dies on the cross.
So, Jesus came on March 30, 33 AD, the exact day that was prophesized by Daniel. He rode in on a donkey’s colt just as Zechariah foretold. During which time, Jesus wept for Jerusalem foretelling Jerusalem’s future destruction for their foreseen rejection of him because His people would not recognize the time of His visitation (referring back to Daniel's prophecy.) Jesus of Nazareth would be cut-off just as foretold by Daniel. And would by rejected by His own people and “cut-off from the land of the living" as foretold by Isaiah.
The term “messiah the prince” is only used once in the entire Tanakh. It's in Daniel 9. Jesus was Israel's prince coming to be anointed as King but was rejected and killed (not for Himself but for others) before the destruction of the second temple (70A.D.)just as foretold.
It seems the Daniel, Zechariah, and Isaiah prophecies were fulfilled to the letter. How much more do you need?

The Vilna Gaon has an Oral tradition from around the year 1790 that Zekharia's prophesy in Chapter 13 that 2/3rds of the world's population will expire in this 3rd War of GoguMagog (in its time) will be tempered by 50% by a plague that was not known in the 18th Century which will come just before that final War. So it seems that Covid- 19 was that plague. So according to the Gaon, 2.5 billion will expire because 2.5 billion suffered from that plague. Added together that is 2/3rds of the World's population.
And the actual words of Yo'el were תמרות עשן which means "date-palms" of smoke not pillars of smoke. A date-palm is like a mushroom at least in shape....

Lubavitcher Rebbe says that we need to make actions to speed up the coming of Moshiach, as the Torah teachers say that the Almighty sent Moshe-rabeinu to save the Jews from Egypt when He heard the cry of the people of Israel.
I saw on the Israeli television a year ago that the Paley family's mother, whose two sons: Yaakov-Yisrael Paley, who was 6 years old and Asher-Menachem Paley, who was 8 years old,who were killed by terrorists, she said that: "really feels now, what this is not a personal grief, but tears of pain and suffering of the entire people of Israel." And added that: "the entire Jewish people need even more warmth (mercy and kindness) from the Creator of the world, who wants to comfort everyone who feels pain, because in fact each of us is part of the overall suffering of the Jewish people."
She also said that she recalls how her children looked forward with joy and anticipation to the speedy revelation of Moshiach on the eve of the 9th of Av (the day on which Moshiach was born, which in 5782 fell on Saturday), especially one of her sons, Asher-Menachem Palei: "He asked me endlessly many times even before he had his first teeth: "When will he (Moshiach) come?" I answered him with what a mother says to a child, that we fully believe that he is about to appear.... Now everything inside my heart is aching, because he wanted an answer so badly."
She continued: "There are big trials and small trials, we want peace of mind, we want harmony, we want things to be in order, if something gets in the way, it's a mess, that's how it is sometimes. And sometimes it's beyond our comprehension. We need to think about it, that everything is going according to plan and everything is for our good, everything is with love, that there is such a terrible tragedy, but the Holy One, blessed be He, has given us this... It's probably for our good, and if it's pain for the people of Israel, it's probably for the good of all the people of Israel."

How do you know about him that make you too much sure about his arrival? I mean how do Jewish people believe is too much strong on its existence and he will arrivng one day? What is the source of his reality? Where he is now? What do you know about Moshiach?
