Thanks very much! Your experience having used for sometime is incredibly valuable particularly as I also live in London. I was looking at the TC 1500 but it seems a little underpowered. As other commenters said, it would be fantastic to have a follow-up review after the second service, which I think is 3000 miles. Another owner had to replace not only the brake pads with the actual disks as well, and his total cost of ownership formula didn’t look quite as compelling as perhaps many thought.
Kick stand sensor went on mine too (VIN 65!),replaced under warranty. Lovely bike and agree with Paula's enthusiasm. Struggle to get to 55mph with my 85Kg bulk, but have loaded to 160kg and the ride was fine.
Thank you for taking the time to post this. It’s a great, simple demonstration of real world use and how someone looks after their TCSS
The TC Max has just come out here in New Zealand and I'm looking at a little commuter to do a 60k round trip to work and back. this is probably the only electric motorbike you can get in the country right now without importing yourself so really appreciate the vid and comments
Same here from NZ aswell I'd love the zero but cant get them here but these look good apart from I like the seat from the TS better
just purchased one and your videos have been very helpful in making the decision. all the best.
I would suggest for your keys putting one of those plastic chains on it and attaching it to either the bike or your belt that way if you forget to remove the key it won't fall very far, of course if it's on your belt it won't go anywhere anyway, but if attached to the bike then it will just hang on the chain.
I believe they are called plastic spiral clips, but just one word of warning if using one of these due to them being plastic they will break, so what I do is attach a shoe lace from the ring through the spiral to the other ring at the opposite end of the spiral, that way if the spiral breaks as they do, the lace saves your keys, double protection.
Thanks for the update and upload, really helps me out when deciding to get the TC max or TC. Thank you.
Thank you so much for creating this content. Real world reviews are really important.
I have been thinking one of these would be a good solution for me commuting to and from a new job that’s 6 miles from home.
Safe riding
Steve
Thanks for the review I am getting one very soon and looking forward to riding it just as much as you are ☺️👍
Normally the dealer can order blank keys. It's probably the best to have lots of air around the bike if used in the rain. The circuit board in the charger will be the first to go, they for indoor charging.
On these bikes, getting spares keys isnt so easy. What you will get is a new set including the steering lock.
Loving the charging cable extension idea!
i've put a link to the connectors in the description
Hey Julian you can apply wd 40 to the belt to get rid off with the noise it works. II do own the same bike in India but it's named as Revolt RV 400..
Great video. Glad to hear that you got the warranty problems sorted out. I looked at Super Soco last year but the fact that repairs and parts seemed to have a long waiting list out me off. I feel very guilty about leaving it to the rain to wash my bike after watching your video though!
Ha ha!
I get mine next Tuesday, can't wait. Thanks for video
How's the bike so far?
@@jdrizzledrizzle1087 love it done 2400km to work great fun and cheap to run
Excellent video Paula 👍 Love the blue rim tape so I've bought some for my TC Max.
Give the rims a wipe with acetone first.

@@paulatrounce7522 I'm going to use Isopropanol but thanks for the tip 👍
@@paulatrounce7522 Looking good
Same!
Love the moggiecyclest at the end, thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much for the video, as others have said please keep them coming!
This video is a massive help, thank you! I'll be getting one very soon
Just another thought on the subject of this bike, what is the charging amperage? Wouldn't a simple 13A extension do the trick rather than fitting out a special cable to charge with.
I charged a Vectrix vx1 with a generator once 13 A max charge no problems no special cables needed, the charger takes what it can deliver.
Most house hold plugs are usually not much more than 13 A anyway and you can plug that directly into a wall socket, so I believe, it's not like a cooker which needs more amps to work.
These are nice bikes for small people but not much fun if you are big, they seem under powered, I have a 1000 watts Escooter which when pushed can go 25 mph and I'm not small, so why these are so slow is a mystery.
I have a few ebikes both DIY conversions and a mid drive bafang ultra, 25 to 30 mph is a easy enough task but after that wind resistance comes into play in a big way, add to that the weight of this bike and the limited speed is easily explained I guess, to push much faster requires lot of power and so very inefficient.
Much better aerodynamics are required for bikes as well as better batteries if we are gonna have fast ele tric bikes with decent range.
@@FlyingFun. Yep for sure the more speed you want the power you need, but double the power won't give you double the speed, but it will get you up a hill better.
The Americans have it about right 750 watts and a certain weight restriction so if you are heavy you can still ride, they also have more powerful ebikes of various classes.
Basically even fat people can ride, however EU and UK laws basically make it almost impossible for fat people to start riding.
Enjoyed watching your down to earth and honest video. Thanks for posting. Chines bikes and products as a whole get a bad press generally as being cheap and cheerful and not built to last. Assuming you still have your TC Max, has it lived up to expectations or has it started to fall apart? Would you still buy one if you had the benefit of hindsight?
Any chance of an up to date review on the bike and how it’s performing?
Loved your videos on the TC Max :) Planning on buying one this summer for a commute of 70 km -+ in sunny Portugal. Does it still holds up after all this months?
Great review thanks. In New Zealand we have a lot of hilly cities. Taking into account variations in steepness, are these bikes considered ok on hills?
Different review said is has no issue going 80 on an incline, so it'll handle it like a champ
I live in Dunedin and I have a TC max, it goes up the steeper hills at 60-70 very well. I'm very pleased with it as a commuter.
@@lepod cool, saw you two up this morning in the NEV.
@@peterwilliamson4296 not me, I think MCR have sold quite a few of them. If you take one for a test ride you will be pleasantly surprised. Only thing is, you couldn't tour on one.
Lovely
please do another review after maybe a year or after 3000 miles
a tip : you can watch movies at flixzone. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Erick Manuel Definitely, been watching on Flixzone for since december myself :)
Great down to earth video from a real owner's point of view and much better that any dealer video that i have seen.
So you must have rode the bike through the winter, i have read and been told that the batteries don't perform as good in the cold weather i.e you have to charge it up more often than you would in the summer months.
Did you find that this was the case with your bike please?
I am thinking of getting a 50cc electric bike but i am put off with the battery through winter situation if it is as bad as i am told it is, so your imput would really help me deside.
All the best.
Your are such a lovley Person!
I only have the small TC in green.
Wish you all the very best for future with your bike 👍
Best regards and a kiss from Germany, Ivo 😙👍
A really useful and interesting review. Gave me a lot of answers. Thanks
Just a quick question … is it possible to put another charged battery in a topbox? Just thinking of how the range could be extended. Thx
Hi Paula - another 5 months on, are u still very happy with this? Looking at it to replace a 125cc for a purely zone 1-2 London commute. Seems too good to be true?
Great review video, very informative!
Brilliant review thanks for posting this
Hello Paula
After 2 Years
still Happy?
ich am Thinking touring buy one
Lovely video! Can I ask? Can you remove the battery from the TC max for like recharging it at home? Thanks :)
Yes, easy to detach but it's heavy. Around 22 kilos.
Hi!
The sound of the charger is noisy. Did you replace the charger fan?
Very cousy situation going on there. I like it.
Do you ride with a passenger? If so, what is your total weight? Id like to ride with my fiancee but we total at around 160kg. Would this hurt the bike too much? (Range, acceleration)
I don’t, so no idea. Sorry
I would suggest you check the specifications as motorcycles usually state the maximum weight they can carry safely before handling becomes an issue or parts start to fail.
But 160 kgs doesn't seem excessive to me as most small Escooters can carry upwards of around 140 kgs so this with full suspension should be ok unless it's made really badly, but check the specs or contact the dealer would have that info or get that info.
Wonder if a machine shop could make a new key on a lathe or cnc. Maybe even 3d print one
Really good review . Considering buying one but I am 6ft 18 stone weight so maybe too small for me . Great review 👍🏽💕
How does it behave in winter after being left in the cold for a few hours? Do you see any impact of the cold on range?
Super video and review! Especially if you are trying to decide on purchasing one. However does anyone have any idea of a realistic, real life range at max speed? Looking to purchase for a 40 mile round trip commute which includes 30 miles of 60mph dual carriageway in the UK and don’t want to get caught on range. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
50 miles is realistic
You won't get to 40 miles range with 30 of those at max speed.
Hi
I’m thinking getting the tc max I live in block of flats don’t have Storage would the bike be ok when it starts heavy rain
I seen Korean guy riding in the rain that was tc
No point I putting rain cover cos keep getting nick
Great video!
What are the insurance costs and what company did you use?
does this come with steering lock, as far I know this bike has anti-theft system which doesn't lock the handle.
Hi just a word on security. You shouldn't show you number plate.
You are giving away your personal data.
Best regards John
In the UK it doesn't really matter everyone sees your number plate in the UK, you can't get peoples address from their number plate in the UK unless you are law enforcement in which case everyone's number plate is open to law enforcement, just not general public.
Even if you take down a number plate and go to the police they will not give out someone's address based on a number plate unless you have official documents, in the case of an accident they will contact the other party and follow it up but they will not issue somebodies address simply based on a number plate.
So showing a number plate in the UK is of no real significance, maybe in other countries it is an issue but not the UK.
@@despertamos9923 Well thats a problem for the govt to sort out because by law we must display the number plate for everyone to see, so be it online or on the road it makes no difference.
@@despertamos9923 Well no because we have to by law display the plate, we have no choice.
We can do nothing about someone cloning a plate the people who clone plates can just walk around and pick a random number that they see.
But for your vehicle to go on the road it must display the plate.
So like I said it makes no difference if your plate is displayed online in the UK because for the vehicle to go on the road the plate must be displayed.
@@despertamos9923 Yes I agree that you should not put put personal info online that is not in question, but in the UK numberplate are not normally personal, they are only related to the vehicle and does not usually change, only the keeper of the vehicle changes, and that info is only privy to the authorities, but the number being seen makes no difference at all.
Some people rake up thousands of miles every week with the same number plate.
@@despertamos9923 oh yeah, sure, cause the moped thieves all use super socos to do their crimes.
Unfortunately many people buy things and leave it as that, whereas i like to see where my money has gone, mainly, this bike didn't come close to meeting the specs on the website...
The 60 mile claim is more like 35 miles (real world riding),
The 60 mph is actually 50mph, the speedo is out by a whooping 20%
What type of insurance do you use. ? :)
Hello any idea if the handlebar of the TC more hight can be use on the TC max because I feel the position on that bike to much down it’s like a café racer position and to be honest I don’t like it but if one day they do something more comfortable like trail position I sold my Cux.
The V3s that have just arrived have a small kink in the handlebars raising it a few cms. They couldnt put the TCs one on them because the brake and electric cables would have to be changed
I want the handle information
where would someone in the US buy one of these
What the insurance like on this?
Can you get insurance at a reasonable price ?
Can the battery be taken out for charging?
Hi how you getting on with it
СУПЕР !!!
Do you still have e it?
Fancy sell it 2800
