- Ten years after the 1975 tornado that tore through Omaha, KMTV aired a special broadcast looking back at the day and interviewed the weather person working that day.
Why is audio so low??
Tom was the first meteorologist in Omaha to use Doppler Radar.
Remember when KMTV did the weather in drag in the early 70’s to boost ratings? lol
He educated us. Tom Belvaquà:I LOVE that man!
I use to have a tape of Tom Bevacqua on March 13th, 1990 tracking the storms from that day but that tape broke and is long gone unfortunately.
Tom Bevacqua. I remember him pretty well. He was quite popular in Omaha. Too bad he left in the early 90's. I wish he'd stayed at KMTV for many more years. Had he done so all the way to the 2010's, I have no doubt he would've been inducted into the Omaha Press Club Hall of Fame.
I lived in Ralston and was in 7th grade at Ralston Middle school. I still remember this day vividly.
If Tom had still been in Omaha during the October snowstorm of 1997, he'd have a field day talking about it. He might've done a special about it like he did with the 1975 tornado.
I used to fly SkyCam 3 for this station and sister station KFAB. Left in ‘79.....
Dayton(Ohio) stations do a remembrance every so often. We commemorated 50 years of Xenia's big one in 1974 last week.
1975 - I lived in Lincoln and remember this day well! I remember the weather lady Carol Scott too! I wanted to marry her. Gorgeous woman! Even though at that time, I was a skinny, buck toothed 8th grader, I felt love for her! Wonder where she is today? Come back to me Carol!!!!!!!!
+weightgainers I loved the womens hair in the 80's...Carol was hot.
Dale Hansen beat you to it.
