I have to comment here. It is pleasure to see you after a long time. Siddharth Vinayak Patankar is among the 1% reviewers remaining who won't do a sing-song voice and just speak naturally and passionately about the subject in as little wasteful words as possible.
I own 2022 Tiguan - it’s most fun to drive and safe car . Driving Dynamics are spot on. Sadly most unrated car, I feel people need to drive and experience it to appreciate how good it performs. The new gen Tiguan is more rounded which is not to my taste but lots of upgrades in tech front that’s a big plus .
It is underrated. But my concern is about owning a premium vw / Skoda long term. Almost all of their premium cars have been discontinued due to poor sales or some other issues. So although their cars are great, long term availability of spares is a big worry!!...Fortuner is totally outdated car but u know u can just get rid of it anytime u want and not lose money on it come what may....plus the long term reliability is outlandishly good...Sadly even today the Fortuner remains the sensible choice for individuals who wish to just buy n forget for 10-15 yrs.
That’s what poor sales is because people don’t have clear knowledge about the cars . They just go by flow . Real petrol heads don’t care about poor car sales or others etc . These cars are meant to experience their performance and ride quality . People who really are car enthusiasts and enjoy driving will know the difference. At the end of the it’s peoples personal choices and preferences
🌟 Current One Is More Upright & Boxy...... Typical Evergreen VW Design, Not Sure About This One, This One Is More Like Crossover, But VW Done Good Job In Interior & Tech Department....... Intresting To See Skoda's Kodiaq Version Based On This👍
Volkswagen Tiguan is the best in segment plus cool features I would say vw cars feel safe Build to last Another great review by Sid sir The starting shot of the video is so picturesque ❤ 👍🏻
Great review you were right every SUV is going boxy and Vw is going in the opposite direction curvy that’s why the current one is selling so well it’s boxy look
Wonderful to hear from you after so long sir! So does it still make sense to buy the 2023 Tiguan or wait until the (likely) much more expensive model to release next year?
Own one of the early tiguans , absolutely love it , very underrated and I feel what it offers at the price it offers it at, there is no one even close. Plan to upgrade to the new one when it comes
Shud be early next year. I agree with you on it being underrated. And as I’ve said on several replies above - VW India has not been aggressive enough on pushing this model
Looks nice.. The electronic parking brake was observed, however, the 'auto hold' button was not visible. I would like to inquire if the 'auto hold' feature has been eliminated.
Nice review. But Would have been better if you had driven the petrol version as that is going to be available in India. When people spend 40+ lakhs (on road price ), they are most likely to sit in the back seat. I didn't even see it in the video my friend. 😊🙏🏼
Point taken. But with a new generation, especially where so much changed, the focus was on performance. And the diesel was the only variant I could get when I was in Germany - it was either that Tiguan press car, or no press car from VW! So I did not want to lose out the chance to bring you the new generation. Also because the cabin, design, platform changes, and tech were also so crucial to bring forth. On the back seat, it eventually just was a compromise to keep vdeo length within limits. But I accept your point, as I said
@@sidpatankar thanks Sid for taking the time to respond to my comment. Very much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing many more honest reviews from you 😊👍🏼
In India if it will get this same model in 35 lacs than it will value for money car for indian consumer but I don't have much hope for same car and 35 lacs price.
Coz that's the only test car they had available. And it was better than not testing it - simple. Also the R trim was necessary to see how much work VW has done to improve trims and tech
I have booked the current tiguan just today, so a bit concerned, whether to wait or buy the current one? My budget is 40 lakhs, for which I am getting the current one with discounts
Again - the brand needs to think ahead. What shapes its identity in India in the long run. They think short term. And then the answer is no. I get the duties make it worse. But that is where they should absorb some impact as marketing and brand building cost and yet bring the progressive variant. But that sadly won’t happen
I must admit I really don't enjoy the current design philosophy towards soft - presumably to appeal to a wider audience (specifically female buyers) as I really like either the aggressive, masculine look (Land Rover) or very sleek (Porsche, Genesis etc) - the German brands seem to be in a weird space design wise. I guess, though, the looks are the most subjective part of a car and the rest looks great
Not as yet. Only China gets the longer wheelbase Tiguan L Pro. There would be a similar spec coming globally later most likely - much like the Skoda Kodiaq's 2nd generation. You may recall VW had that in the 2nd gen had the Tiguan Allspace.
The increase in the music volume can really hurt people using a headphone. Editor please look into that. Love this new gen of Tiguan though but yes I'm afraid it's going to cross the 40L ex-showroom mark. :(
I own a VW Tiguan since 2018. The car is good. Service and after sales experience is horrible. They do not keep any spares in India. Even for small things they have to get those from Germany. My car is in the workshop for last 3 months. The VW customer service does not care. There is no firm date as to when the spares will come and my car will be fixed and returned in working condition. The interaction with the service centre as well as VW customer service makes you repent having purchased their product
problem with vw is they will launch this car at around 36 l( instead of 25l) at that price no one will buy. it. that car is almost equal in dimensions with creta nobody wants to buy a small car for 36-40 l onroad when u can get bigger suvs like the harrier for lesser money
According to Autocar, the Tayron is coming and in seven seater form. Probably going to share all the internals with the upcoming Skoda Kodiaq. If this does come to India, it will sit below it and I just can't see this car coming to India with a sub 40lac price. 40 to 50lac is where the Tayron will be so who knows

I have a budget of 42 lakhs, should I wait for it or buy the current one with discounts at 42 lakhs?
What about the back seat setup can it accommodate 3 people and how is the comfort while sitting in the back
Kindly respond
Good question. It is comfortable, but the Indian version will need more plumping of the seat. 3 people can sit easily, but let's say slimmer folks!
Could you tell us what was the real consumption of this Diesel Version please ?
most inder rated car in INDIA
They also never marketed it aggressively. Agree?
Love the new Tig as well .. but why test tdi?

I don’t see it. But yeah they’d kinda compete in a way
They make engines for most of Brands like Ferrari etc,
but failed to make Exterior design for own 😢

TDI diesel should be brought back
Completely and wholeheartedly agree. Clean diesel that meets emission norms is good, torquey, and so much more efficient

Tiguan TDI was an amazing machine. Great choice. I hate to agree with you, but yes. Off late these designers are doing an inadequate job!

They’re not really comparable. But what is your motivation for the Roxx - the off road capability? Or it’s urban appeal?
From critic point of view this is good, but from sales point, this will fail again due to price and non corresponding stance.
Yes. VW India needs to have some proper strategy and not just launch it by the way. As it has in the past. It has the potential for sure
