It's incredible. Seriously well done all involved. Also, please add more tour dates 😫 I need to experience this album live with my fellow Kevins and Creddahorni'
Just discovered this band by Radio 1 playing this song while i was driving, i literally had to stop and use snapchat to find the name, i don't know what it is about this song and I'm not an emotional person at all but that chorus resonates with me like no other song. everyone has a different taste in music, but this is my perfection, the melody, lyrics and modern feel with the subtle use of the xylophone (or similar instrument) mastered beautifully with extremely great vocals. good job guys have truly created a masterpiece and good luck though 2024.
Yep! They are. It's a bit crazy how good they are actually. Like... most songs you hear you can hear a way you could 'improve it'? Not this. It's literally like the found the soul of this song, plucked it from the universe. It's perfect.
They're like our little pocket band. The fact that they are not fully mainstream means that they can keep making music we love. Such a great band. 15 years and They're still putting out music like this. Awesome.
It's because most people like simple four to the floor boring 'meeeh'sic. And we can thank our lucky stars that Everything Everything don't cater for them, they cater for us!! Go listen to their new release if you haven't - The Mad Stone, I may like it even more.. THAT is what Everything Everything is all about. Weird as hell but still catchy, like it's straight out of ARC. @@sinbad8982
I couldn't make out the lyrics live, but now I am catching all the references to modern online socialization. EE is always making meaningful art. I couldn't love this band any harder.
The pure JOY I felt when those synth notes dropped 😭 I used to mostly listen to rock and pop-rock, but the last few years have been a pop and electronica vibe. I simply cannot get enough of boppy beats and electronic instrumentals, esp from EE. I want moreeeeee
It’s been a while since I became immediately obsessed with a song but today it happened. Having bought up the EE albums I didn’t own, I listened to them all in order and Cold Reactor grabbed me within seconds. Hasn’t let go yet either (listened to it about 30 times today) and I hope it doesn’t for a long time.
Even when they change their sound to be more pop (which I don’t really care for I’m more of a rock guy) EE’s lyricism always keeps me coming back for more. Words that make me grateful I can understand English
From seeing these guys when I used to get home from school and was obsessed with them. That was when I was 16. Im 35 now and they are without doubt the best band I’ve ever been blessed with. Lucky to see them at ally Pally a few years back. Today I just received my personally signed mountain head album and I’m even more blessed than I was all those years ago! Big love. Forever a E E fan

Virtually impossible for any act outside the 80s me would think. Don't know these guys before, but this sounds pretty nice, no mean feat in a world of shit taylor swifts, justin biebers, rhiannas, rita oras etc. all. Not sure about the "love you like an atom bomb" lyric.
@@kyachdistent1301 you don't gotta knock pop stars if they're not your style. those singers aren't my favorites either, though every rihanna song i've heard has been really amazing. "i love you like an atom bomb but i've become a cold reactor" is actually one of my favorite lines tbh. it's how i feel at least. when you have enough love in your chest to start a fire that you can see from space, but that's not what the world wants from us. society kinda.. locks us into ourselves. all that matters is that we're productive. generating money and work for the people who wanna use us. so the song is, in my eyes, depicting humans as radiant, like the stars. but it's kinda mourning the fact that we've been separated from each other, prevented from connecting in a way that would stir genuine reaction. we're stripped of the brightness to become more efficient. and when we're molded that way, it's hard to get back. to reopen and genuinely offer ourselves up in our relationships with other people. that's the meaning i find in the line, anyways
I regret listening to this song yesterday, 3 hours after launch. I was tired and didn't have the audio setup this band deserves. I found it ok, as for EE never really missed, but nothing to get thrilled to. Today, set up my speakers and played the song again, paying close attention to the details. So, it IS a masterpiece. I AM thrilled for the album. Damn, I love this band
Saw these guys when they opened for my fav band ever, Keane and jumped into their discography soon after. This is my favorite and shows no sign of changing (second fav is Pizza Boy, so catchy wtf????)
I love this song. To my ear; a bit like something from the eighties. Lovely phases throughout and the musical, brief key changeover in the song, towards the ending is brilliant in how it invokes reflection.
met john friday the 13th after the show in Minneapolis and hearing this song live for the first time. looked to my partner and said "i dont think i know this one" they said 'you must not be a fan". one of my favorite shows ever.
I’ve listened so much to this song on the stereo during my wifes pregnancy that my baby boy now falls to sleep to Cold Reactor. I can tell he’ll be a fan for life.
I picked up and played the new album yesterday. As always with so much music and with this band in particular it took a few listens before Everything Everything finally clicked into place. Just when I personally thought that they could not equal Raw Data Feel and Get to Heaven I had to stop in my tracks... Jonathan and the boys have climbed to the top of another musical majestical mountain with their heads held high. Lovely stuff and too many tracks here to know which is my best one...
I’m not gonna comment an image of a little yellow face to tell you that I’m sad about the emptiness that’s all around me, just my appreciation for this awesome song……..😎

The fact that this video was only posted an hour ago and I have spotted 148 comments here speaks volumes for the amount of love and respect that is still held for what I consider to be a highly talented and underrated band.. However, does that actually really matter? When Jonathan and the boys are still releasing such beautiful and often unheard electronic gems like this new single they can still hold their heads up high and breath a sigh of relief that their banging tunes are not yet being played in some souless shopping precinct in modern Blighty between a Sports Direct and Greggs somewhere.. Just for the record: I do actually enjoy a Greggs as I think their snacks are actually pretty decent value for money, it is more the post modern jokey comment I was aiming for here..... Cracking tune lads.. You have still got it!!! 😊

You're very lucky. You get to listen to all their songs for the first time.

Time for you to go digging through their back catalogue! There's much more where that comes from
The subtle ferocity of “like why does everybody feel the same” is perfect.
Yeah gets to me too, Jonathans best vocal so far I'd say.
This is like a poetic takedown of modern society and how it makes us feel. It gets better every time I listen to it!
They're just the best band ever aren't they

I can't describe how much I love this song
My favorite band by far for the last 10 plus years. I had the immense pleasure to see them live in Dublin. What an explosive night!
I couldn't make out the lyrics live, but now I am catching all the references to modern online socialization. EE is always making meaningful art. I couldn't love this band any harder.
Probs my fav song of the past 10 years
EE still in their Raw Data Feel groove which I love cos that's one of their best albums 🔥
The pure JOY I felt when those synth notes dropped 😭

This is best band of the last 20 years. So underrated! I love this song!
Another amazing track. Possibly the most underrated band in existence at this point, consistently good since their first album.

Pop music is great when it's brilliant. Some Dua Lipa songs are unquestionable bangers. This is top tier pop music. Genius band.
& so begins the cycle of obsessing over every new single until the album's release, and then obsessing over the album for the rest of my days.
Genuinely a great song,it’s perfection.
Can't stop listening to this, like literally 10-20 times a day right now... absolutely buzzing for this album

That chorus just keeps running in my head its so good
The group that makes me consistently cry
Came back after a while of listening to say this song was a huge hit. Been listening to blast doors. And man this one hits different
The fuckin lyrics are SO complex and layers. I love them so much. Easily my favorite song rn.
Can you see the steel is glittering?
The writing here feals closer to get to heaven which is perfect imo, thanks for the song! Keep it up!
"Cold Reactor" is # 8 on my playlist chart. It has been in the Top 10 for over a month. This is one of the best songs of 2024.

LYRICS:
So we built the mountain
By digging an almighty hole
And on our backs we carried every rock and stone
But now the hole is deeper
Than anybody ever planned
And we're blocking out the sun
I believe in life and terror
You believe in killing time
By the fingertips I'm hanging on
Sorry Satan
But I can't do this evil on my own
I haven't left the house in nearly 30 thousand
Days I sent you
The image of a little yellow face
To tell you that I'm sad about the emptiness that's
All around me
And I can't stop the ringing in your ears
When everything we love becomes a picture of a
Simulation
It wakes me in the middle of the night
I love you like an atom bomb but I've become a
Cold reactor
So dark the supermarket
Some of us stayed in the pit
Because it felt so comfortable to dwell below
We made the mountain bigger
But we had forgotten why
It's a dream I'm in with you
In the night the sword is hanging
Far above the head of man
Can you see the steel is glittering?
And maybe I'll go missing in the rain
If god is in the mountain he won't answer me a
Single question
Like "why does everybody feel the same?"
The slow degeneration and the crying out Oh
Lord have mercy
Just look into my jet electric eyes
And see a blue reflection of a world inside a
Black dimension
It wakes me in the middle of the night
I love you like an atom bomb but I've become a
Cold reactor
Now you're gonna see what's underneath
I'm sorry Satan
Sorry Satan
And I can't stop the ringing in your ears
When everything we love becomes a picture of a
Simulation
It wakes me in the middle of the night
I love you like an atom bomb but I've become a
Cold reactor
