I know this is a joke, but to explain that whole octagon thing, in the Japanese version Nagito uses the English word for octagon. Hajime doesn't know English, so that is why it takes him a moment to get it. This, of course, doesn't translate well in the English dub and just makes him seem stupid (makes for nice jokes though).
