What a fun and challenging collab challenge, great work guys!
Thanks Flo! 😀 who knows, maybe us three could do one
Definitely a fun challenge and one to repeat.
This was such a good episode. Both of you got to demonstrate your quick thinking and decision-making skills. Enjoyed it.
That was a fascinating episode, I really enjoyed it. I think you both did a brilliant job, amazing what you can knock out in such a short space of time.
Absolutely Brilliant 😅 what a great idea, I think you should do one at the start of each season. It was very brave to lay yourselves open but you're always very honest about your editing to give us the best tutorials. It was good to see that procreate doesn't always play nice, I used to think it was me doing things wrong. Its got to be one of your best Eps 😂 it really cheered me up, I watched it all with a big smile on my face 😁 its just how I think a lot of us feel after completing a tutorial. Genius, thank you both so much. 🙏 NAMASTE.
Thank you Daz! 😆 we’re glad we managed to brighten your day 😀
Thanks Guys, I loved watching this!!!! Yes please do more. It was fascinating to see how you both dealt with the challenge so differently both artistically and mentally 🤣I felt for James and his perceived planning and perfectionism bit as that's me too. I thought both turned out OK, quite blurred 😎but OK given the time and I liked them both the same. If you do another one could you possibly put the timer up out of the way a bit, or make it smaller and also your pictures as we couldn't always see all of the canvases. But all that said really well done!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Awww this is so much fun! Watching you both laughing and creating in this challenge is great!
It’s a great experience to watch you both how you manage to apply textures, using/switching brushes in short time. Pretty interesting challenge to swap the art to the other to complete. I love it! You both made my day happy with this😂🎉🎉😅
Thank you so much 🤗
That was brilliant, well done guys 👍👍
Thank you 🙏
You both did an amazing job. No winners IMO you did very good with both. Yes, for doing it again 😃
I would not be able to pick. Seriously both are just amazing. Watching how you both came at this challenge was such a treat!
I find it funny to see you 2 struggle for an half hour while we do that for hours on your turtorials 🤣🤣🤣 very nice Guys!!! Impressive 🤩
Thank you ☺️
This is so true! 😂 I play them at .75 speed and STILL pause it constantly. *squiggles in a perfect line* “wait wait wait slow down!”
You haven’t killed your reputations Joel, you have made us want to come back for episodes like this. It was great fun to watch and you both came up with amazing images albeit the pressures you put on yourselves. I was kind of hoping James was in for another mic bash 😂😂😂
lol! Now you know how we feel trying to follow your tutorials! I constantly have to pause to keep up. Pretty amazing how you both quickly pulled these off.
I’m not normally one to watch podcasts, but I’ve been peeking at these.. I watched this whole thing! This was absolutely fantastic and hilarious, I’d LOVE to see more! Watching how both of your minds work, even under such extreme pressure, is fascinating and actually pretty enlightening. Even if you were to do this without swapping, I think it’d still be a great video. Please make more!! And thank you for sharing this one with us❤
I also agree with some other commenters that you guys should’ve created palettes for each other. Would’ve made your lives much easier 😂
Absolutely brilliant. I understand how stressful it was for you two, but I loved it! And I think I learned a lot. I’d watch more of these if you think you could survive doing them. 😂 Or, perhaps to lessen the stress, make the time a little longer, have the sketches and palettes done beforehand and trade them as whole files to include the layers. Great stuff! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😆😆
This was so entertaining and educational! Yes, please do it again! I like both paintings but I think the portrait one was just slightly ahead. Well done you guys. Amazing 🤩
Oh the tension...
I'm well entertained 🤣
😆😆😆
Oh you two asked for it ! Lol I think everyone going to enjoy this ! Amazing jobs & I needed a good laugh 😂 too….
Love it!
You guys did a great job under crazy time pressure! Both are great. I am amazed at how far along the pictures were with so little time. I enjoyed watching so I vote yes to doing it again 😏
LOVED this! Would love to see more! I like both of them but, the portrait one is my favorite. I am drawn to the higher value contrast in that one.
Very well done. I do like that you combined layers in the process, it added to the challenge. That is something you should keep in further challenges. Both are incredible given the limit on time. Amazing work!
Thank you 🙏
Great show! More of this please! I see a 35 minute challenge in my future.
Love it! I would like to do more timed exercises and I like seeing you guys do it
This is so great, definitely want to see more of this!! Like regularly!😂
I really enjoyed this time challenge video. Seeing you both struggling under the time pressure made me feel validated that you also struggle sometimes. As a new student of digital art I get very frustrated. It is nice to know that even professional artists struggle at times.
We’re glad you could take positives from it 😆😆
@TheSketchWave I also enjoyed your comments on how you would do things differently if you had more time. It was very helpful!
Nice to see faces !
I really enjoyed this video. I would love to see you do this again. I had the thought that you could each set up a palette that you would share, so each of you could pick colors from either of the two palettes. And maybe duplicate your favorite brushes and choose from the favorites category. Just some thoughts. Good job!!
Great idea!!
This was fantastic 🤩 I am so sorry, but I would love to see more like this😁
It would also be fun to see the pictures finished. Either if you finish them off screen or do another episode like this and have another 30 minutes or so. 😊 maybe even without the swapping?
My favorite is the landscape with river and cabin. The light that you made there Joel, is soo nice 🤩 And the contrast is really something I like🤩
Thank you both for this. Learned a lot, and had lot of fun 😁
Thank you ☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed the show. We will do another for sure
Ah brilliant, I suggested this on one of your previous videos!
Thanks again!
Well I found that really relaxing 😂 I thought both were great considering the pressures but did prefer the colours in the portrait one.
Glad you enjoyed!
That was fun to watch! (except for the bit where the screen recording crapped out, lol.) I sometimes wonder what your normal arting process is, compared to what we see in tutorials -- of course the time constraint means it's not 100% normal, but it's definitely spontaneous.
It could also be fun to do a version where you do the art off-camera with more time (like an hour per stage) but then show each stage and talk about choices etc ... separating the "what do I do with this" brainpower from "explain to audience" brainpower.
This was fun to watch and I think both turned out great even with the limited time you guys had to work on them. Seems a lot like torture to do a full coloured, detailed drawing in thirty minutes though.
What did you James and Joel learn? It was great you shared with us what you learned
Portrait for me
Awesome love this ...but Joel is talking to much ! Lol
😧😧
