This was tough to react to, since Say Something is a song connected with an incredibly sad part of my life, but, of course it is still a stunningly beautiful song. Who else would be better for this job then KZ. MY GIRL. She did fantastic!

The guitarists is actually a good friend of her.
Fan fact:
She was actually suppose to sing a different song for this particular eps. but for some reason she was asked to change it last minute. She then asked his friend which is the guitarist to help her fix a song with her and eventually end up with this master piece. So all the arranging and practices took only a night before the actual performance to prepare.
The whole arrangement is very simple so I can imagine they put it together effortlessly pretty fast. But thats where the beauty lies in it. in simplicity. :)
Katriinka ....In fact, the guitarist was flown from the Philippines because of the sudden change of song choice.
The problem is is that, she's been practicing and preparing a song for days when she was asked to change it. So it must've been very hard for her to adjust and start from scratch again. Knowing that it will be performed in a live telecast and in social media platforms the next day. So the amount of pressure is insane and messing up is not an option.
She can perform in any last minute coz we know the fact that she play guitar and piano... Thats why shes very talented

This is kind of like a golden age in Philippine music. There's so many good vocal artists.
First, "kind of" and "like" have the same meaning. You choose one or the other. Second, the Philippines always had many great vocal artists. Lea Salongga and the other Filipino casts of original Miss Saigon to name a few. There was even a Doble Cara contest back in the 90s where every contestant was a Marcelito Pomoy so I don't know what you're on about.

Fun facts: KZ prepared a different song for this episode and the arrangement for that song came from the Philippines. Hunan Broadcasting System (HBS) decided last minute to change the song because they felt the song is not well known in China and asked KZ to perform 'Say Something' instead since this is one of the songs she performed during the audition that really left a mark on them. We had to fly Macoy (her guitarist) last minute for this and she only got to rehearse this song on the day of the recording but still delivered an awesome performance."

KZ also received a Tweet from the original performers of the song, A Great Big World. The New York-based musical duo said, "Wow. @KZOfficial. Wow."

I always thought that Rolling in the deep cover was her master piece. But this one, though she rearranged it in short time. This one shows rawness, just Kz, a guitar and drums on later part. I love it .💙

Katriinka.. kz tandingan was a great belter before she had issues with her throat.🥺 Because of that, she decided to pursue her passion exploring different genre and eventually became the kz tandingan that we really love today.
kz’s magic is in making people listening to her music, FEEL bigtime! her sincerity in her performance is what makes her stand out as a performer! she always arranges most of the stuff that she sings the way she “feels” the song....

The guy is KZ's guitarist in the Philippines that's why they have a connection. Due to sudden change of song entry in this competition, he was flown in to China to join KZ and barely had a day to practice before the performance. "Say Something" happens to be the song entry she sang during the audition which paved her way to securing a position in this competition...and a ticket to stay in the show (4th place for that week).

After hearing her sing that song on their chanel, this is what i really felt ,and am constantly typing and explaining what i'm feeling. Takenote she had no time to prepare that song when she performed it.

I am inlove but my heart feels her song, it's like i went on a breakup just now. KZ wtf ?! That was actually a last minute arrangement. The producers didn't approve the performance she had planned for this event so she had her guitarist from the Philippines fly in and they arranged this the night before. You could probably hear that her voice was a little fatigued because of lack of sleep. Nonetheless, this was an extremely beautify and powerful performance. The original artists, A Great Big World, commended her for this performance on Twitter. I love how she really showcased a different dimension of emotions on this performance, really tugged my heart.

She arranged and practice the song in a single day. It was replace in the last minute (a day before her performance) because normally they are given a week to rearrange and practice the song. Please also watch and do a reaction of the song she performed The Love you never knew (with English sub) and See when you get there (I think that's the title of the song) all performed on that the Singer show in china. She rearranged and practice the song in a week. She does not speak, read or write mandarin language. Thank you for supporting our Filipino music artist.... Love from the Philippines.
