It is so delightful to see strong talented young women perform wearing appealing, yet modest clothing. I am so tired of the attitude that to be attractive you have be half naked and/or provocatively dressed. Thank you for showing you the world that modesty and talent can co-exist! You guys rock!
The song is about women empowerment. Women empowerment includes the right that women can choose however they want to dress. So if they want to dress "modestly" in your definition, AWESOME! Or if they want to show their shoulders (like some in the video do), AWESOME! Or if some want to wear a bikini, AWESOME! It's however they feel comfortable and what they want. I'm glad to see them singing about feminism.

This arrangement is a masterclass in intensity. Everything from the building of harmonies throughout the opening. To the moments where everything cuts out then comes back full force, to the top tier use of percussion. One of my favorite college group covers of all time

I love the strength demonstrated in this video their voice and skill are incredible! I'd just change one thing the phrase on 1:22 "we don't need no men" I love being strong and self-reliant, but I do not see my life without my husband by my side. I love strengthening him and I love it when he strengthens me. I understand that we can live without men to a degree. but can we promote women and their strength without belittling the need for good men in our lives?
Saying we don't need men doesn't mean we don't still choose to have them in our lives. Same as how men feel to us. It's equalizing it.

Are there really no women of color at BYU?
I know, right? Hard to "represent all the women" when they're actually not . . .
There are over 100 countries represented at BYU. This is an audition group so they choose from those who show up to audition.
And you're telling me that out of those 100 countries, not one woman of color auditioned? Or perhaps it's the teachings of this religious school that turns people of color away...
They chose the best people that tried out. They didn't have a skin shade test. 19% of BYU is non-white, so either they didn't try out or qualify. MLK's preferred method of judging - content not identity.
@@GraphikDisplay and you know this for a fact? Or just guessing? It's just an observation that it seems that there are (not surprisingly) no women of color in this video for both singers AND dancers. BYU and Mormonism don't have a great track record when it comes to past racial injustices so I don't think it's unfair we ask the question. MLK also stood for that.
