@@MissBubbles a million times, this. I've lost count of how many games I've let pass me by, simply because I've waited for them to get patched out and ultimately forgotten they exist.
@@andeed4200this is not something that can be patched unfortunately unless they are looking to release a massive DLC or complete overhaul the gameplay 😞
She isn't the only one who thinks it's a bad game. Josh among other cozy games channels agree it's bad. Probably best to wait. Josh's review did a great break down of how bad it is if Ms. Bubbles didn't convince u. Better to wait than reward bad games and developers for their poor games. Maybe if these crap games bombs developers & publishers will make better games cuz the crap games the r putting out are not making them $. $ is the only thing they respond to.
I’m personally enjoying this game. I miss games that feel relaxing and simple, with simple goals. Unlock pets, unlock decor, find blueprints, do puzzles. My life’s way too busy so a game like this is a good time.
Man, it sure is a CHILL(y) TOWN under all this shade 🥶😜 but for real, I could not be more with you on the "cozy has become cheap" bandwagon, which is SUCH a shame. "Cozy" does not equate to watered-down mechanics and mindless chore completion with a sickeningly-sweet aesthetic: it is the joy of achieving what real life does or cannot provide through simple-to-grasp but deep-to-master mechanics, comforting, tight feedback loops that provide meaningful rewards along with a sense of peace, and settings that evoke nostalgia and wonder without the jarring clunkiness of poor quality products.
I agree 100% with what you said about this game but just wanted to add something, I found it really boring how the customers just would teleport to their seats instead of actually walking in through the door. I wish they had more character and personality to them. I also kinda wish that if you messed up on the food too much, the customers could get ill and I think that if you could drop the dishes on the floor by mistake and have to clean up the mess, it would show more silliness!
Thank you for posting this opinion video. I have been enjoying Critter Cafe and I have been gaming since 1999 (I kid you not). Within the last few years, I decided to get into more of the cozy gaming world to unwind. Critter Cafe is super cute and, yes, there is repetitiveness - what cozy games escapes this? However, I do not believe the game is one that you try to complete in one sitting - I would recommend taking it in small doses. Also, I have 11.5 hours in the game and my cafe is level 31 (I was gifted a review key) - I have a back log of critters to save. Only reason why I have a backlog is because I wanted to max level my critters before moving on. The puzzles become more complex and the things you do in the cafe also become a bit more complex and varied. The game is not for everyone, and that is fine. Those that are not sure should really try the demo out. Yes, it helps to see opinion videos but each person is different. You should decide for yourself by trying it out. You may be pleasantly surprised.
I've been thinking about the 'cozy paradox' - the fact that most cozy games will never live up to our expectations because most peoples' expectations just aren't, well, cozy. Our brains have been primed by other games to want extreme challenge, overstimulation, and never-ending worlds and plot devices. If there are critter companions in a game, we will always want at least 150 of them. If there are puzzles, we will always want them to be more challenging. If there are villagers, we will always want a plethora of rotating dialog...'cozy' both never was and always was.
I played the demo and the first time i ran the cafe was an immediate red flag. Customers teleported in the seats and wanted to be served so quickly. Didnt even get through the beginning of the game and the cafe portion was a huge STRESS point of the game. NOT a good look for a chill game. I got the first critter and was not interested in continueing in the demo.
I played the demo and enjoyed it. Will probably pick this up on Switch to play while I watch tv. The graphics are cute to me and the gameplay is relaxing.
I would say the art style is either Chibi low poly or Cartoon with some Cell shading. Not 100% exactly which but those are the closest two I can think of.
I played the demo on Steam and I loved it. It was my favorite demo I tried that week. I agree the game is simple and a bit repetitive but that makes it perfect to play while watching tv or when you have limited time. It's not the best game ever and there's room for improvement but it's not nearly as bad as the review makes it seem.
When playing the demo of critter cafe i really enjoyed it. Yes it maybe a little repetitive but many cozy games are including games like acnh, ddlv and palia. But they are some of the most popular games in the gaming community so i guess it depends on your taste and what your looking for in a game. Repetitive cozy games are perfect for playing while relaxing and watching tv at the same time. I agree this is not for everyone but that is the same with all games. I intend to buy it but im waiting for a sale as Christmas shopping has started and i got to be good and just play the games i already have 😂
I played the demo and I thought it was cute, but I was definitely expecting the full game to add more! It's a shame that the gameplay loop is tedious and boring. I was also expecting the critters to actually help in the cafe and not just run around and do nothing.
I didn't play the demo but my friends who did and then played the full game told me they were shocked that nothing else was added. That was a shame to hear
I wanted to like this game but played the demo during NextFest, and wasn’t too impressed. Thought they would make improvements, but will probably skip this one, thanks for the video!
Well first thanks as always for your honest review. For me at the beginning I love it for mostly the cafe management and the overall atmosphere even though it looks a bit tedious but the main reason I don't wanna play it because of the critters care😅. Even in my favorite games like rune factory series I hate taking care of animals 😞 and with the little this game gave me in compare to the others it's a pass unfortunately 😕
I appreciate the review. I tried the demo & did love it, but the more I played & more reviews I saw, it did just seem repetitive. Sad, it had a lot of potential.
lmao! yes thank you bubbz and all cozy gamers around the world for playing these games so we don't have to. i will say maybe its worth trying it on a deep sale but other than that nah its a skip for me.
It's so crazy how these mediocre cozy games have become such a concept lately. Been seeing lot of youtubers getting mad (with good reasons) trying new promising games just to realize how trash they are, lot of these expensive early access ""games"" are so damn sad
I'm so said this is the second review that was not positive. I was waiting for this game for a year and I am so sad that once again it's a pass. These games this year have just been so disappointing.
If Miss Bubbles says the puzzles are the best part of the game, you know there's something deeply wrong 😭
HAHAHAHHA facts.

Glad i watched a review from different people before buying this game i was kind of excited for it but now i am not so sure 😨

I have only played the demo but I loved it and this is exactly why!
Looks like a fine game to play in the tablet if Its free on the Apple arcade

It's such a shame cause I was interested in playing it and was hoping for a fun game
And you know I had to give some shade before the year ends 😂
Firm but fair! Quite rare to hear a negative review from House Bubbles, especially in the cosy/sim genre
We loveeee positive vibes but some games... it's so hard to be too nice about them

Zero transparency on trees and items in this perspective is a big no no for me. I don't think I'm the right age bracket for this either tbh 😂
Tbh nobody is in the right bracket, even kids will snooze at the gameplay loop 😭
@MissBubbles 😂🤣

Ohhh i got my popcorn out for this one 😂🍿
I was a lot calmer than Chill Town 🥹
I played the demo and enjoyed it. Will probably pick this up on Switch to play while I watch tv. The graphics are cute to me and the gameplay is relaxing.

Damn I was looking forward to this game 😅 Oh well thanks for the review ☺️ I'll save me money 🤑
Thanks for protecting my wallet 💳 💰

Not game related, but your hair looks ON POINT! Loved how you styled it!

I loce AC, DDV and enjoy Palia. These games feel rewarding. This one does not at all haha
That's a shame to hear, but at least now we know to avoid getting too stuck into it 😅 Great video!
Day 2 of waiting for miss bubbles to play the famous discord "game"
Thanks for the review. I was hoping it would have more interesting things after the demo 😢
I played the demo and I thought it was cute, but I was definitely expecting the full game to add more! It's a shame that the gameplay loop is tedious and boring. I was also expecting the critters to actually help in the cafe and not just run around and do nothing.

Was going to get this one, thank you for the warning Miss Bubbles
I'm so disappointed. This looked great in the wholesome direct, and I was hyped for it. Really sucks how games are being put out before they're ready
It’s such a bummer when games don’t deliver
I wanted to like this game but played the demo during NextFest, and wasn’t too impressed. Thought they would make improvements, but will probably skip this one, thanks for the video!
My friends who played the demo said the same thing. They were surprised that not much is added to the main gameplay loop from demo to full release 😞
Was this the undisclosed game you're talking about in the Luma Island co-op stream with Josh 😂
Yes 😭
Patch 1.1 replaced the whole game with puzzles and added beach volleyball minigame
This game looks like it needs Chucky.
LOOOOL
@ 😜🔪
I was excited for this, but now I'm not. Thanks for saving me money!

Miss Bubbles, our wallet saviour. ❤
At your service 🫡
I appreciate the review. I tried the demo & did love it, but the more I played & more reviews I saw, it did just seem repetitive. Sad, it had a lot of potential.
The whole game could make up to be a demo ngl 😅
lmao! yes thank you bubbz and all cozy gamers around the world for playing these games so we don't have to. i will say maybe its worth trying it on a deep sale but other than that nah its a skip for me.
Even on a deep sale, it's so boring that I cannot recommend it
Are there snail creatures though 👀
I would have spat my drink if there was
Every once in a while i play a game that actually makes me feel like I'm at my 9 to 5. That's not a good thing. Turn down the realism please😂
This was definitely that game for me
I think this will be a pass for me...thanks for the review!
I was sent a key for this.....one for the shelf I think
yo I really gotta stop preorder games just because they look cute and watch reviews first 💀 this is not the first time I’ve done this 😂 damn
Ahhhh every single game i was waiting for this year was kinda of a disappointment. Oh well time to replay some old games.
I FELT this comment. And the ones I did not care about were a pleasant surprise
It is like every game I am interested in has issues 😢 (for console)
trust me even PC exclusive games have been mostly problematic/incomplete (in cozy gaming genre this year)
That bad, huh?
😭
❤❤❤❤
Here’s to hoping the developers will continue to upgrade the game and make improvements.😢
I would really love to play this game in the future.
It's so shallow it would need a complete overhaul
It's so crazy how these mediocre cozy games have become such a concept lately. Been seeing lot of youtubers getting mad (with good reasons) trying new promising games just to realize how trash they are, lot of these expensive early access ""games"" are so damn sad
This isn't even Early Access. It has been a frustrating year with 50% of cozy games being a complete let down
Thank you, Miss Bubbles and Josh, for their honest reviews!
You know, say about this game whatever you will, but this running animation melts my heart.
Def cute animations
It's very, very repetitive. I played the demo and was TOTALLY boring.
I'm so said this is the second review that was not positive. I was waiting for this game for a year and I am so sad that once again it's a pass. These games this year have just been so disappointing.
