Fantastic. I'll be 50 in a couple of months, just finishing up the most recent re-read of the whole series, and I have the movie on my shelf waiting for another re-watch. I had such a crush on Suzanna Hamilton as a kid after seeing the movie for the first time, and whenever I read the books now, I picture all the kids as they were in the film. I think the casting was spot-on. Kit, if you ever see this, you were the most perfect Nancy anyone could imagine.

I watched the later version made about 10 years ago, good movie but not as good as the original. Had to laugh when I realised they had changed Titty's name to Tatty in the newer film. Obviously Titty was inappropriate these days lol. Those books made me an avid reader as a child.

The “Girls” did really well, but the production by the BBC was awful.
Every time Sophie, Suzanna or Kit were speaking they cut to footage.
Oh no, that was great. They needed to show what we were talking about.
