- 44T were invited to race a Moto Guzzi V7 in an endurance series, so the only man with a race licence hopped on a plane to Adria International Raceway and joined forces with Fast Bikes' Mike Booth for a UK assault. Things didn't go swimmingly...

Apologies for the lack of action; GoPros were banned and the Italian videographer went AWOL
44Teeth what happened to the lad at the initial start? Did he pin it straight into the wall off the launch?
When will the Dakar training video be released?
Typical italian racing then...
Callum O'Donnell - soon, hopefully. It’s been a fecker to edit
Matthew St. Andrew - it was a lady. They had to bump it and she must have whiskey throttle’d it. Hit a marshall and broke his leg
3 Crashes and a fist fight like a normal night in Bristol ... good work Penfold.
Someone should start a series like this in the UK on the Royal Enfield 650s... That'd be so fun.
The Mighty Dash use to have Harley xr1200 at bsb races
That would be great and really affordable.
It’s coming, the pilot is a season deep in India.
Gotta be one of the best sounding race series
Moto Guzzi endurance racing ends exactly as expected...within the hour
🤣 Very true
Well played. Lolll
Paul Coombes good to know you've got one. Terrific bikes.
When adding .2 of a second becomes an exaggeration! Lol. Nice work gents.
7:30 bringing the fun back to racing!
Possible lack of mechanical sympathy for an agricultural gearbox? Takes me back to the 883 series, bloody good fun on 58hp.
Just a bit of fun: queue the pit lane fight.
Statham you have the worst luck with ham-fisted team-mates ;)
Great video, looked like fun despite the disappointment.
Whoa, Boothy rocked that restart!
You can see how hot it was there - as Statham's 44 Teeth logo on his T-shirt was melting.
I owned and rode and put 253,000 miles on 1973 moto guzzi Eldorado police.NOT ONE SINGLE BREAKDOWN ,PROBLEM EVER EVER EVER ON THAT BIKE!!!
My dad has a '73 Ambassador, Only replaced clutch outside of normal maintenance. But that was to be expected after teaching 5 kids how to ride on that thing!
Baron needs his ACU license it’s all his fault
Running out of people to break bikes.
Jason Stathom and Stiffler go racing and bang walls.
Read title --> give it a like straight on.
Would love to see a modern classics race series. Looks like legit fun. Good job guys!
Fagans' face after the first stint 😁 Same face i have while trying to shift a 'King Kongs' Finger'.
How did that bloke go into the wall at the start?
@44Teeth said above: "It was a lady. They had to bump it and she must have whiskey throttle’d it. Hit a marshall and broke his leg"
Guzzi is an obvious choice for a track hack, bloody brilliant!
Still an awesome vid and the Moto Guzzi V7 is a funtastic bike, loved mine on track at Anglesey and Brands Hatch GP! :D
the Fast Bikes curse, breaking bikes since 1987
Since 1992 actually ... but I get your point!!
@@boothy6057 Colin Schiller the creator of fast bikes magazine published the first fast bikes publication which was a book in 1987, the magazine followed 5 years later

Fair play mate, you know you're onions! The first mag was '92, but I hadn't considered any of the earlier publications! Nice one
To me this is the best fucki g episode for ages, epic bike, epic crew, epic track...what a weekend
Having a (former) Ducati MotoGP tester fix your bike: tick! ✔😁
Guareschi! SBK rider, MotoGP test rider and Ducati MotoGP team manager.
Pity bout the mechanical, but great vid as usual lad!
"Its not the winning its the taking part"
Great content anyhow, thanks.
Great video guys! I live in Western Austria and ride a 2014 Guzzi V7 Racer (as well as an Aprilia Tuono) and love it. Not the fastest but great fun to ride. Looking forward to your second attempt, but I guess you might have to wait a bit in Corona year.....
fantastic video. more of these please.
😂😂ahahah mi avete fatto schianta... Con la musica siciliana in romagna ah ah ah😂😂 numero uno
Unlucky boys!
That looks like a brilliant series, if the bike didn’t break down
You would think they'd know where they're going come race day given that they've already been there 😂
Boothy joining your videos, finally!
Love the moto guzzi,s v7 , i test rode the v7 3 loved it
Is there anything else you admire about me ... ? Ha ha ! Another top video, cheers gents.
The Italian themed music is pure gold !
Best video in awhile fellas. Loved watching this one
I love Moto Guzzis but damn they need to make some new heads for those things and up the compression and make a V7 that actually has balls. 50HP for that size engine just isn't enough in today's market. Granted the bike is slated as their economy model and not a performance one but they should be able to make a version of it with around 90-100HP. Most of the lack of power is in the head/piston & cams design as well as the single small throttle body.
For any of you that don't know, the V7 has a completely flat cylinder head, there is no combustion chamber in it, the valves open into a massive relief in the top of the piston, much like how the W head 349/409 Chevy engines worked. It's only about 8.7:1 compression. If they upped that to 11.5-12:1 (which is common on modern injected engines) you'd easily double the power, especially if you added good cams and dual throttle bodies. A set of hemi heads on a V7 would be wicked.
The v7 mk3 has hemi heads. Still no ohc but no more flat heads,. No matter what it’s still 52 hp, but a different power and torque curve from the v7 mk2. I really don’t care, I really, really love my v7iii!
It sounds back to front, but you can skim the top of the pistons on a heron head and then skim either the barrel or head (I haven't looked at the V7) to raise the CR.
I agree though, the V7 really needs some more ponies.
@@endurojimmy3109 decking the head would do nothing on a head that has no combustion chamber. The biggest problem with those engines is that they have tiny ports and valves and don't flow for anything.
@@OtisENGINEuity You're right, the small ports are a limiting factor, so as I see it, the way forward is to increase the thermal efficiency of the charge by increasing the CR.
As I have mentioned it's not just a case of decking the head.
Moto Morini 3 1/2 have a heron
head, they have two available pistons strada 10:1 and sport 11:1 they did this by bringing the combustion chamber in the piston closer to the top of the piston.
I saw that a guy has replicated this on a V7 by machining the top of the pistons so its closer to the combustion chambers and then I think he machined
the barrels to raise the CR.
I think he was running 11.5:1.
If I can find the thread again I will post it.
@@endurojimmy3109 cutting down the cylinder height would actually cost you displacement. A far easier thing to do would just be to change the rods at that point for some that are a bit longer to make up the difference, or change the pistons all together. It doesn't matter what the compression ratio is at a point. You can have an engine that's 15:1 but if the ports are tiny it's never going to make power because it's like breathing through a straw.
Liked your Tom Sykes impression. 10.49 Ya just forgot ya cuppa Tea!
Love this race vids boys got try next year again!!
Great show, more of this please !!!
That bike sounds fabulous
Great video; pity about the race. How did your teammate (Boobie??) manage to get videos of himself sitting trackside after the mechanical issues - did he have his mobile phone with him???
Boothy a TT racer. Every TT racer carries a phone just in case of breakdowns/issues
@@FortyFourTeeth Boothy! Boothy! Sorry! Well, I guess that's why leathers have that convenient vest pocket. Good to know. Hope to make the TT (spectator, alas) in 2020, it's been a life-long dream.
Booby hahaha
Haha, people have called me a lot worse!
Love these type of video's, great banter and (hopefully) some racing soon. How about Perkins showing up sometime ? 👍🏻
Very enjoyable gents 👍👍
If Al could lose some weight and learn to run he could go first. ;-)
He did try and loose weight by having a shite.
I thought Redding was going to whip him into shape, but Al was DESTROYED after the warmup session. lol
18:26 - "Pushing the bike back, won't drive.." So...it's Italian then?
No, must be ktm - I know I have a 690
@@janra8653 must be a bad owner 😜
Received my Jizz machine sticker today ... in love with it 😂😂🤘
Still the best stuff on the interweb! Better luck next go!
That was funny, but frustrating, Oh well, Good entertainment. Charz.
The ole Pirelli Phantoms I use to run those on my 79 RD 400 Daytona, great tires!
Another fun video, What's happing next any beach off-road action coming
Sitting down is the best
11:14 - those sideburns are for real!!
An Italian bike with "accordion" type suspension, only fitting.
Not again.........will you ever get to do an endurance race ?
Absolutely gutted you didnt get to ride again. Maybe next time.
Is the video from the desert you two was talking about a while back due soon?
Thanks for all the free content :)
the gearbox on my friend's v7 also took a crap once. Damn guzzis.
Ed Stafford races bikes too? No end to his talents.
What exhaust system did that track Moto-Guzzi v7 racer have?
Hang on Vito Geressi has a brother? Called Nigle !
Amazing video guys
So not completly standard then lol
Completely standard, apart from all the bits that aren't. The brake pads were standard by the sound of it.
Honestly the suspension comes on one of the high end model MG's anyway, an exhaust is a given and lights/mirrors is a safety thing, its as close to standard as you're going to get. You probably could ride a bike to the event and race it.
@@jediknight1294 And the rearsets? It's not standard, no matter how you look at it.
@@ferrumignis the standard is the same across all the bikes in the series, nobody is going to race an entirely non modded streetbike. The rearsets is a safety thing setting the bike to the rider and increasing ground clearance so you have less chance of binning it scraping a peg.
though you get them as an option iirc on one of the leMans V7's.
Its a one make and model race series with a standard allowed spec and its what a grand maybe 2 over a stock v7 of that model. None of it is stuff owners arent fitting for roaduse either.
Everything they change is stuff expected for racing, levers, rearsets, exhaust. The suspension is just taking advantage of a high spec version of the v7, could do it on stock roadbike bodywork and a couple of the bikes there were so honestly its not unreasonable to label it a standard series same as the old LC350 production racing.
@@jediknight1294 To be fair, it may not be the most impressive motorcycle on a spec sheet but it looks like they didn't cut corners when it comes to suspensions, contrary to so many Japanese manufacturers. And it is shaft driven, which makes sense on the street. It seems like a well rounded machine to me.
Only thing missing from the footage was each evening's piss up. Note for next adventure; we watch 44T for drunken escapades. Not motorcycles...
Are you and Howard Moon seeing other people right now?
Test riiden the V7 racer on local track and it's slower than my suzuki gw250 that I rode to the track...
Engine 3 times bigger, cost 5 times more, with much racier ergo, I'm shocked.
None of this is "racing" a Moto Guzzi V7 but if you're interested in some blokes talkin 'bout a bit...
Bad luck lads
Saw an rs125 in the background
Those tyres are absolute... yeh...
Scott Martin got them on my street twin. They’re ok in the summer so long as the road has a good surface and it’s dry. But they’re sketchy as shit!
I guess it was a cold morning?🤏
Does anyone know what the OG Fast Bikes guys are up to? (Aside from Shakey)
Unlucky Al.. next time mate!
What was the deal with the attempted punch on?
Italians plus racing plus heat simple.
2:47. an hours endurance race? that's even less than an action scene with rocco siffredi.
Poor Fagin, regardless, it was a great vlog.
Unfortunate ride, it happens
LOL boothy crashing someone else bike??? NEVER
whoops!
Poor Chris never gets to do owt anymore 😂 #pray4baron 😉
looks like the guy from That Mitchell and Webb Look
I dont know what you are talking about!
.3 lets not exaggerate !
Bike looks awesome. 😲
Is this thesame race that James highsided?
Makes me so sad the season is basically over before it startes 😭
You were eyeing that RGV250...
It sounds good, if nothing else.
0:15 They are called budge smugglers in these parts.
Note to self, Dont do an endurance race with Al. Mechanical issues are inevitable
i am a child fight fight fight lol
Hasn't David Walliams got a race licence then?
Tom Cleverley makes a guest appearance ...
For fucks sake Fagan, insist on going first!
I thought the bikes sounded great!
Shame mate having no luck next time you insist on going first!
Ex Moto GP test rider and team manager happens to be fast in the spanner’s too! 👍🏻
Nice video, but I'd like to see sub-titles for the parts where speech is hardly audible due to bike noise, etc. 🏍🏍👍
That front suspension looked non existent.Cheers.
They wouldn't let us change it until we rode it first, but it was set-up for a 50kg racing whippet
I wonder how much sweat you collected in your non existent banana 🍌 boots.
I enjoyed watching it, even without gopro. The cut is nicely made like usual. Cheers guys, keep it going!
You lot complaining about the heat is hilarious. Come to Virginia in August. 104 degree heat and humidity so high you have to chew the air. We still put in laps though.
who else saw 37 and though of clerks?
Good wee video...ditch quiff boy...more real without his ego.
Keep up the good work.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda ....
