If you watch "Headbanger" from Black Night, you see Su near the end look over her shoulder and make a hand gesture. One reactor suggested it might be regarding her in-ear set and the volume, but I personally wonder (without looking at the setlist from that night) if "Headbanger" was the first time the middle would go up and she was checking to see if they were doing it with the gong and all. Either theory is pretty sound. I do more believe it was probably the earpiece idea, but you never know.

Her voice has only improved in the seven years since. It's easily in my top ten BABYMETAL songs. Su performed three solos that night. She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set. Yui and Moa (as Black BABYMETAL) performed two songs without Su. And there were ten songs with all three members on stage. That Black Night Budokan concert from March, 2014 is still one of my favorite BABYMETAL shows of all time. For the 'Mischief of the Metal Gods' instrumental: 1st solo Leda Cygnus (guitar), 2nd solo Takayoshi Ohmura (guitar), 3rd solo BOH (six-stringed bass) and 4th solo Hideki Aoyama (drums). All of them are involved in various projects in the Japanese music scene. Takayoshi Ohmura often plays with Marty Friedman's band. Supporting BABYMETAL allows them the opportunity to perform Metal songs in front of big audiences and tour the world, which is something most musicians in Japan don't get to do.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Kamis' (=Gods') super plays are excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen emerges from the underground, she colors everything differently and turns Kamis' plays into a ritual to summon her. Kamis are all remarkable session musicians and they also paly in their own bands or other activities. The 3 girls once said like "We feel we have been protected all the time by Kami band" and Kamis said "The girls took us to stages in the world, outside of Japan. We have nothing but gratitude towards them". This is a very ideal relation between talented and attractive front performers and super supporting musicians, isn't it ?

Nice video! This song is about being trapped in an unescapable nightmare being haunted by an unseen creature with no means of escape. The part when Su starts singing with a specific technique (dont know the exact term), she pleada the creature to at least show its figure to her right before it kills her. This is one out of 4 Su's solos. The others are Akatsuki, Amore , and No Rain, No Rainbow. This song was performed when there are still three of them in the group. She performs these solos to give Yui and Moa a few minutes of break. The other two girls also have their duo songs to give Su a break. Yui and Moa together was called "Black Babymetal". Granny Hayes, love your T shirt!! During the weekend I watched a lot of BabyMetal. Prior to BM, Su (the lead singer) was in a popular J-Pop group called Karen girls. In 2010, as Su, Mo and Yui joined Sakura Gakuin, plans were laid to carry all this one. In it's first couple of years, BM performed Karen girls top hit song-Over The Future. Yui and Mo used that song in an audition to get into Sakura Gakuin.
Back when yui was still a member, Su had some solo songs which give yui and moa time to rest... or in this case do some homework (they were still in school here) Yui and Moa had their own songs under Black Babymetal. They had 4 songs: Onedari daisakusen, GJ, Sis Anger and 4 No Uta

It seems you have been enjoying Japanese bands quite a bit, so I have some suggestions you may like as well. :) *Lovebites* - An all-female power/heavy metal band that has strong influences from the iconic bands of the 80s and 90s. Song like "When Destinies Align" and the live version of "Holy War" are great starters. *Unlucky Morpheus* - A power metal band with (in my opinion) some of the most talented Japanese musicians, fronted by vocal powerhouse Fuyuki Tenge. "Black Pentagram" and the masterpiece "Cadaver/Revadac" seem to get a lot of peoples' attention. *Eternal Elysium* - Stoner metal with a groove that will have you tapping your feet without you realizing it. A good start would be "Splendid Selfish Woman" or "Movements and Vibes" *Tears of Tragedy* - A very melodic power metal band whose singer has a wonderful ethereal voice that just whisks you away. "VOICE" and their recent "Nonsite" are a great show of their talents.

The Kami Band is on their own. They are not part of Babymetal. They are hired to play concerts. The intro is their music. It's not on the album. The songs are BABYMETAL songs. Many were written before the Kami Band existed and they have little to do with them. What they are doing is not different from a cover band. I don't mean any of this in a bad way but it is what it is. You have to give credit to BABYMETAL for hiring top talent. I heard that the Kami Band volunteered to play for BABYMETAL and it was their idea. Not that BABYMETAL didn't want to have a live band all along of course they did. But the Kami Band seems to be or have been very happy with the arrangement.

f course the band is good. remember this is a corporate manufactured concept. baby metal is a response to what do we do with jpop singers that have a following. hey metal and extremes are popular lets take some great musicians and make a new pop metal band. hey at first my inner metalhead was like "hey this isn't how metal works" but it was too good to ignore. i still like musicians writing their own songs but i cant ignore it when collaborations or manufactured music sounds this good.
Well done on defying your inner metalhead, that was definitely the right thing to do ... if the music etc is this good that's what matters - but he was slightly misinformed. BABYMETAL was an experiment and pet project of one man, the corporation had no expectations of it ever being more than a short lived project that would fail and provided no extra support or budget as there was no known audience (and no expectation of there ever being one) for a Jpop-metal fusion so it was not commercially viable. They allowed Koba his pet project under the umbrella of Sakura Gakuin only because with no financial investment there was no financial risk involved, but the girls would still gain some valuable experience, which was what they wanted. They existed and grew from nothing for 2 years before the Kami Band came in and even then they only played a couple of festivals and the encores in a few shows during the next 18 months. They didn't become their full time support until the Budokan shows in 2014.

During the weekend I watched a lot of BabyMetal. Prior to BM, Su (the lead singer) was in a popular J-Pop group called Karen girls. In 2010, as Su, Mo and Yui joined Sakura Gakuin, plans were laid to carry all this one. In it's first couple of years, BM performed Karen girls top hit song-Over The Future. Yui and Mo used that song in an audition to get into Sakura Gakuin.

Ladies! It seems you have been enjoying Japanese bands quite a bit, so I have some suggestions you may like as well. :)
*Lovebites* - An all-female power/heavy metal band that has strong influences from the iconic bands of the 80s and 90s. Song like "When Destinies Align" and the live version of "Holy War" are great starters.
*Unlucky Morpheus* - A power metal band with (in my opinion) some of the most talented Japanese musicians, fronted by vocal powerhouse Fuyuki Tenge. "Black Pentagram" and the masterpiece "Cadaver/Revadac" seem to get a lot of peoples' attention.
*Eternal Elysium* - Stoner metal with a groove that will have you tapping your feet without you realizing it. A good start would be "Splendid Selfish Woman" or "Movements and Vibes"
*Tears of Tragedy* - A very melodic power metal band whose singer has a wonderful ethereal voice that just whisks you away. "VOICE" and their recent "Nonsite" are a great show of their talents.

The Kami Band is on their own. They are not part of Babymetal. They are hired to play concerts. The intro is their music. It's not on the album. The songs are BABYMETAL songs. Many were written before the Kami Band existed and they have little to do with them. What they are doing is not different from a cover band.
I don't mean any of this in a bad way but it is what it is. You have to give credit to BABYMETAL for hiring top talent. I heard that the Kami Band volunteered to play for BABYMETAL and it was their idea. Not that BABYMETAL didn't want to have a live band all along of course they did. But the Kami Band seems to be or have been very happy with the arrangement.

f course the band is good. remember this is a corporate manufactured concept. baby metal is a response to what do we do with jpop singers that have a following. hey metal and extremes are popular lets take some great musicians and make a new pop metal band. hey at first my inner metalhead was like "hey this isn't how metal works" but it was too good to ignore. i still like musicians writing their own songs but i cant ignore it when collaborations or manufactured music sounds this good.
Well done on defying your inner metalhead, that was definitely the right thing to do ... if the music etc is this good that's what matters - but he was slightly misinformed. BABYMETAL was an experiment and pet project of one man, the corporation had no expectations of it ever being more than a short lived project that would fail and provided no extra support or budget as there was no known audience (and no expectation of there ever being one) for a Jpop-metal fusion so it was not commercially viable. They allowed Koba his pet project under the umbrella of Sakura Gakuin only because with no financial investment there was no financial risk involved, but the girls would still gain some valuable experience, which was what they wanted.
They existed and grew from nothing for 2 years before the Kami Band came in and even then they only played a couple of festivals and the encores in a few shows during the next 18 months. They didn't become their full time support until the Budokan shows in 2014.
