I like how you can use a league to make a horde - like the big band of goblins you had in the Bilbo adventures. Is there a way you could do the opposite and make a one-man league? Something where you want to play as just one guy against many - like Indiana Jones or Captain America against a bunch of German soldiers? I imagine you could give him multiple turns with different abilities he can activate on each, or something like that.
Yes, but it is not generally recommended for most scenarios. The majority of our scenarios are designed for multiple player characters, so it can actually be a disadvantage having only a single character in play. No matter how epic a character is, they can't be in multiple places at the same time. So two characters is normally the smallest league we play. However, we do have a handful of scenarios that are specifically designed for each player to have only one single character at the table.
When we rewrite the Vice Alley campaign for 2nd Edition Pulp Alley, I'd like to shift it towards focusing on single characters or Duo scenarios. A Duo league could be something like Indiana Jones and Short Round, or Indiana and Sallah, or Indi and Marion, ...Willie Scott, ...Henry Jones, and so on. He had a wide array of sidekicks. AN yes, you could even have multiple heroes if the scenario called for it.
